எனக்குத் தெரிந்தவர் மனைவி மகனுடன் வசித்து வந்தவர். நல்ல உடல் நிலை மனநிலை கொண்ட நடுவயதினர் .
உறவினர்கள் வீட்டு திருமணத்திற்காக இரண்டே இரண்டு நாட்கள் மனைவி மகன் சென்றனர். அவர் தனியே இருந்தார்.
திரும்பி வந்தவர்கள் கதவைத் தட்டும் போது கதவு திறக்கப்படவில்லை. உடைத்து உள்ளே சென்றால் அவர் இல்லை. அவர் உடல்தான் இருந்தது.
நடப்பது நடந்தே தீறும். உடன் யார் இருப்பதாலும் மாறப்போவதில்லை. கடைசிவரை கூட இருப்பவன் ஆண்டவனே. அவன் இஷ்டப்படி விட்டால் கஷ்டம் ஒன்றுமில்லை என்ற திட நம்பிக்கை கொண்டிருந்த கலைவாணியை வணங்குகிறேன்.
ஆம் அவர் இயற் பெயர் கலைவாணி. எங்கள் லேடி சிவஸ்வாமி அய்யர் பள்ளி, மைலாப்பூரில் எனக்கு 2 வருடங்கள் சீனியர் என்பதை பெருமையுடன் தெரிவிக்கிறேன். நன்றி
வாணி அம்மாவின் தனிமை என்பது நினைத்தால் மனம் வேதனை கொள்கிறது இவர் போல் ஒருவரோடு நெருங்கிய சொந்தங்கள் இல்லாமல் போனது அவரே வேண்டாம் என்றாலும் எப்படி விட்டார்கள் அவரை தனியாக இருக்க அல்லது இவருடைய சொத்துக்காகதான் நாம் இவரோடு இருக்க நினைக்கிறோம் என்று நினைத்து விடுவாரா என்று சொந்தங்களும் நெருங்கவில்லையா? எது எப்படியோ முதியவர்களை குழந்தை இல்லாதவராக இருந்தாலும் ரத்த சொந்தங்கள் அவர்களை உரிமை எடுத்து கவனித்தால்தான் மனிதகுலம் தழைக்கும் கவுரவம் அந்தஸ்த்து பணம் புகழ் இதெல்லாம் கூட சமயத்தில் நம்மை உறவுகளிடமிருந்து தூரத்தை கடைபிடிக்க தோன்றுமோ கடவுளே யதார்த்த உலக வாழ்க்கை அமைய செய்யுங்கள் உண்மை உறவு பந்த பாசம் வளர செய்யுங்கள் மனிதனை மனிதநேயத்துடன் வாழ செய்யுங்கள்
அது என்னமோ என்னை பொருத்த வரையில் அது தனிமையில் விடபட்டவர்தான்... பணத்தை எடுத்து கொள்ள எப்ப வேண்டுமானாலும் கூட்டம் வரும் ஆனால் முதுமையில் உதவிக்கரம் நீட்டாது... இதுவும் ஒரு தனிமைதான்

So many people choose to live alone. Just because Vani was a celebrity should she have to forego that choice. What was the intention of the interviewer to keep insisting on this point. It’s nobody’s business if someone chose to live by herself/himself.
I agree - generally this gentleman doesn’t question anyone this way. Even after Ratna ma’am says subtly that she hasn’t enquired re this in an inquisitive manner, Chandru still goes on and on…

It's a lesson to all elders not to live alone. Living independently is fine that doesn't mean you should deny house help tat too after you age. Youngsters should also have responsibility to take care of their elders in whichever means possible. In short elders should not deny help and youngsters should not fail to lend help.

It does not appear to be like an interview it looks like an interrogation. It is not fair to ask too many personal things about such a great singer and the interviewee is only a friend and acquaintance.
It is an individuals opinion of how they want to lead their life, because of her choice, she achieved what she did. It is of no ones business to question or even suggest, Instead of revisiting her great work, this was utter nonsense.

If Vaniji was living with somebody and that somebody was not home at the time of accident, how would the interviewer’s questions be, I wonder.

Shrimati Vani ji and even Mrs. Ratna was not in good taste... if you're trying show that you're progressive by calling them by "names" then why were you kept saying "ponnunga... ponnungana thunai iruknum dhana" wat crap!! yes! it's definitely nice to have a companion only if the person likes/needs it ain't a compulsion! he's rude really rude this would've disturbed Mrs Ratna for sure!

I used to talk to her in general once in 3 months. After covid she was really afraid of going out and even for program. She never thought inher dream that she wl.have an end at her house. May be over-confident
This interview is not about vanijayaram amma .its about how to handle an irritating interviewer in apleasant and elegant way..kudos rathna mam
What a coincidence!!!.when I was seeing this interview, I observed that this interviewer's way of questioning and often interrupting was peculiar . But it was handled ably and by tactfully answering by Mrs Ratna. @ nithimathi talks also thought the the same way. The motive of interviewer is not palatable.

Irritating interviewer armed with Zero listening skills, imposing his own narrow ideas of how a legend should have lived her life, not following any tenets of how to conduct an interview, talking about imaginary health issues without any research or facts,, and asking the same questions repeatedly. Kudos to Mrs. Rathna for her patience. Wish Rathna did what the late Jayalalitha did to Karan Thapar.
Why is this male journalist spreading wrong rumors about Vani Jairam. Even if she had health issues it is none of his business. He is highly irritating with his unruly line of questioning
He is right in the sense of care to a aged people that too VIPs like her,for which this type of demise could be easily avoided,further this may be a lesson to most of their youngsters to take care of their old aged parents.After all we consider to say,it is all fate everybody has to face in our lives!

And she had people to attend respond immediately it seems ..She chose to manage live independantly AND IN this Age trebd many elders are staying like that thise who can afford also

He was living up stairs with family and me with my parents and sibs in Hyderabad near Rock Wood school. I met her mom also. Her bro's wife was a teacher in public school there
All her siblings died long back (except younger sister Uma, she is living in Mailapur). The person you mentioned was her elder brother who was working in Airport, Secunderabad. That’s why her family was shifted to Andra from Chennai. All these happened in mid 60s. Her mother Padmavathi died in late 70s.
Her brother ( name I forgot ) lived upstairs in the same building near Rockwood school in 1974 & 75 Hyderabad. I was working there

The interviewer is irritating. Drilling and drilling with the same question. There are so many elders with kids settled abroad and they live independently. If Vanijayaramji stayed alone what is wrong?? 😄😄😄😄😄 If this guy has real concerns he should just say may be if there was some one to attend she could have been taken to hospital immediately and may be saved. Instead he keeps asking as if it is a crime for a woman to stay independent 😄😄😄😄
