I served with the 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team in Mosul during that time. Some of the fallen were known to us personally, while most were not, but they were all Americans and our brothers. They fought for our freedoms, and their legacy lives on in our hearts and our nation. We will never forget and will always strive to live in a way that honors their memory. LTC Stone... Salute.
Gone but never forgotten. Lost four of our Soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan Cpt Dalessio 2008, PFC Thomas 2008, 1LT Brown 2008, SPC Riley 2014. My heart breaks for Mr. Allen Hoe. 1LT Nainoa Sir your memory will live on in your brothers and sister. Much love
Love you too brother. Your pain is shared. Thank you for everything you and those men did❤️ my time in the infantry was peaceful because of men and women like you. I am grateful I got to train so much and learn in peacetime to be a better man. For our people and Nation🇺🇸 I am honored to know and train with men like you. To the ones we lose on our way may they rest in peace because of the peace they insured.
Let no one ever disparage those who have given the ultimate for our country and honor their families forever. No one who ever they are, name, position, or status, should ever speak against these proud young people.
Crossed paths with Nainoa in the UH Army ROTC program. I was commissioning while he was finishing his MSIII year. He was one squared away and down to earth dude. Rest in peace and Ikaika Imua…
I'm truly sorry for your loss sir. I would've loved to serve under your son. Thank you for sharing your story, your son's story, and the story of your flag.
Thank you is just not enough, Praying for Naonoa's soul that he is welcomed home by Jesus's open arms and that those left behind to know comfort from Jesus.
I am a Civil War reenactor and US Army combat veteran. I and my CW unit march in a large Veterans Day parade every year. A chapter of Gold Star Mothers also parades and they traditionally go before the reenactor units. In my mind, this is entirely right and proper. And when the GSM group passes, all the reenactor units stand to, come to attention, present arms, and dip our colors as they pass. This includes reenactors who portray 'the bad guys'... including Confederates. We are all Americans and these are our collective dead, the price we have paid. Their parents and their memory demand that respect.
God Bless you and thank you for sharing your heroes story. As a fellow Gold Star father your story is our story, and all Gold star families stories. Proud father of SGT Raymond Alcaraz KIA 8/31/10 Logar Province 173rd Airborne
I have the hugest space in my beating heart for everyone who scarifies their own life, so that someone else can keep living. As Lennon said “Imagine all the people, living for today…you may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one” 🙏🏽🕯️
I served with the 3rd battalion 21st infantry regiment, 1st brigade of the 25th infantry division. I remember seeing his photo on the wall alongside the rest of our brothers who have made the ultimate sacrifice. That deployment was my weapons sgt first deployment in 04. Had no idea that we served in the same unit when I clicked on this. Small world kind of thing. Bore brother bore.
I wonder how much personal responsibility this man takes in the deaths of his loved ones and the strangers with his dreadful warrior ethos? His kids didn't stand a chance.
My brother served with Lt Hoe and I've heard so many stories of him. It's good to see his memory being shared so beautifully.
Thank you for taking the time to share your story with us!
RIP SIR
