Hi guys! following you from Portugal. please post more often. Me and my wife will start an adventure like that in some months! And I know for a fact that what you find is what we will find! keep your motivation high, it will be a hell of a challenge!
Great to see a new video and some progress. By the amount of old plant matter around the area where the beams are rotting it looks like it was exposed to the elements before and just covered over. Like you said, better to have found it now and it can be sorted before you end up having to take out new work later on. 👍
for the rotten beam you might be able to sister it with a good board, or support the ceiling from below on load bearing posts and replace the rotten beam without tearing out the ceiling. you'll need an oscillating tool to cut the fasteners holding the ceiling up, then maybe poly glue or fasten from below and patch the ceiling. you might need an engineer, haha, stuff like this is tricky, the existing beams might need to be attached to the brick better too.
Glad my random factoid helped you out! Loving the videos still, big fan of the editing style you have. Shame about the beams but not irreplaceable!
youtube did a good job showing me these vids, Good luck!

Thanks 😄. The beams were definitly rotten before they put on the old floor panels. There are just too many clues…

That’s Some good advice. We already had a construction expert look at it and got some advice… let’s just say it’s not a quick fix 😅
👍
You really need some good breathing masks with that old dust - not good for your young lungs
At the time of writing this we did 😉 but the following video’s we’ll be using some masks but definatly not the best masks. We learned since ❤️
Plaster and Lathe, not Lath. Lathe is pronounced 'Lay-th'. The 'E' is silent. That's English for ya! 😆
