I'm a hello!project fan for a long time & I know Maro as Fukuda Kanon since she just debuted with Smileage. And of course, I also know Seiko as a huge H!P fan & I was initially happy with Maro working with Seiko, despite Seiko's music not being my taste. But I saw one clip before the scandal broke out that changed my view of Seiko. In that clip she told other celebrity h!p fans how she loved H!P so much but didn't care much about them once they graduated. Like 'even if they die, i couldn't care less'. her comment left a bitter taste in my mouth, like how would she treat Maro now that she had graduated from H!P??? So when the scandal broke I was not really surprised. Thank god, Maro is now not in her clutches. Seiko seems like a toxic person, that's my honest opinion.

Also, Maro did public that she lives with Bipolar disorder a little before Zoc and it gets worse when she joined. I don't remembered if it was officially said by her but, it's well know that all get to the point Maro had alcoholic problems due working on Zoc. PS: She's a lyricist too and wrote songs for H!P groups and Engeki Joshibu (a unit dedicated to musicals). Even wrote songs for her best friend of Angerme whe she graduated.
You are doing wonderful work John. I have long been interested in Japanese music, but the backstories elude me as I do not understand Japanese. It is nice to see that there is a lot of interesting stuff to say about it and also explains the comments I see under videos. Your work is really helpful to me.

Good summary of the ZOC lore.... Should explain a bit more of who Kannagi Maro was before she joined them though. Long story short: I'm not taking Maro said on all those fiasco but if she talks about power harassment, it probably is. That girl "used" to all weird decisions before she joined them.

I have been waiting for this video! I know some of what happened with this group but could not find actual timelined information and I kept hearing about this infamous group in your videos so I was very curious!
I became a zoc fan because of maro (or as i know her, fukuda kanon, been a hello!project fan since 2005 so i have been around idols pretty much since elementary lol). the zoc lore also became interesting when all those alleged rumors or real reasons as to why members left suddenly popped up months after they left. Of course maro’s recording was pretty bad, seiko screaming at maro about how she’s insensitive when it comes to physical appearances, also made me realize that seiko is kind of insecure deep down~ But now that karen is also graduating, i dont know what seiko’s plans with zoc is now.
it wouldn't even be accurate to say "bis walked so other alternative idol groups could run" bis walked so other alternative idol groups can walk in bis' shadow.

I had the great honour of meeting Oomori Seiko a couple of years ago. Without a doubt she has more talent in her little finger than the people who criticize her. Yeah, she's a little crazy, like any true genius.

@@Smoses_senpai Eh, it wasn't really all what it's cracked up to be. At least, the OG Ladybaby. You really only went to see Ladybeard. Rie and Rei at the time weren't that experienced so half of the time it was them trying to catch up with Ladybeard. That's kind of what led to Ladybaby disbanding the first time. Ladybeard left, so Rie and Rei had to carry the weight. And the whole concept of Ladybaby was supposed to be an experiment copying Babymetal. Rei wanted to go back to her band and the idol training was too brutal so she left. Which is a shame because they were really starting to find their vibe with "Ladybaby Blue". The 4 member Ladybaby with Rie, now THAT clapped. Sadly, one of the members wanted to go to college, though, so they kind of went on hiatus and eventually disbanded
