Went right from the TV Screen and made them back in the day (mid 80s i think). Took me some time because i made them look like tunnels with brick walls and i added plants and animals. Quite sure they are still laying around in the attic somewhere 😘
@ I remember them telling a story of Rob and Deane going to America to see a similar show .The americans couldn't believe that Adelaide was putting on this production with minimal amount of people and budget . Very proud it was made in my home state .Will check out the English version
back in those days, people simply lived freer. this is even reflected in kid's shows where they're granted quite some degree of freedom to design something on their own. today, a link would be provided, accompanied with a verbal warning, "please only use this variant as it has been evaluated and approved by state certified child psychiatrists as manageable enough to not unnecessarily inflict a hint of frustration into the player's mind."
@@SomeOne-eo7rw no, it's no longer encouraged anymore. today, all and everything must be according to code and only little room for experiments anymore. my text was metaphorical; a description of our confined time that we're living in right now. you can use formula one as an analogy. in the fifties, a team could change the position of the motor, if they wished so. from then onwards, it only declined. there was still room for some experiments in the late seventies (lotus and ground effect cars, for instance) but today, ninety-nine percent is prescribed what a car has to look like and you have only a couple millimeters leeway here and there too make it appear as if teams still have control over what they're doing. and this is again metaphorical for regulations Western governments put in place for all of us; stifling many new ideas, experiments, and subsequent inventions.

I'm a little confused on the rules. At 3:26 why is the bottom "the only free end"? Can't you connect it to the left tile that has the star? At 3:42 why is that the only move to make. Can't you place it to the side where you were storing the other blanks? You said you could go four to the side but you've only gone three so far.
Margaret rivers maze should of grown much higher.... Its over 25 yrs since I went through that maze ....so defiantly it would be very easy to get lost in the maze western Australia
DIY Carcassonne - a game that wasn't published untill 2000
A game designed by a German, and Curiosity show did air episodes in Germany, so maybe it's not a coincidence, though he'd be a bit old for it.

If only I'd watched this video BEFORE the power went out for 2 hours today
It’s like an Ozzie version of the British show ‘How’.😁
The show was running in the 70s were they going back then ?
Yes, search ‘How TV show’ on here.👍

today we have both the free, open ended version, and more standardized games. Nothing is stopping any child from making up games on their own

Reminds me of a board game called tsuro, great game
Tsuro's pretty decent. It's also a little like Bandito.
0:06 I’d prefer not to answer that in a UA-cam comment section, thank you very much.
very cool!

So this is how Freddy Krueger kicks back
Kids today would have to be _really_ bored to even think about doing this.

Index-cards (filing-cards) were not used in the Soviet Union (I'm serious). Maybe that's why it doesn't exist anymore.
