I had no idea what I was getting into when I began to watch Shtisel. I watched episode after episode with wonder and inquiry and astonishment. It was well-written and drew me in unlike any series I think I have ever watched.
No swearing, drug taking or explicit sex scenes.....one of the most popular series on the world!
Well, Rebetzen Erblich did know how to swear!
@@sandrawiersma2512 .....ha!....yes, so comical.....but nothing like the constant ffffffing and blinding in all of the American tv shows these days....i something’s think that it’s the norm for the American people to speak like that now......?.....awful!
We were cheering for Elisheva and Akiva stay together because they were the two most captivating characters, the passion in their eyes, but also the hesitation by all the context of their lives and families to honor. We loved!
Elisheva, please come back to Shtisel. Kive needs you. Also, why is this woman so gorgeous? I love how she looks downward when she speaks and also her smile.
Out of all of Akiva's relationships during the show, he had the best chemistry with Elisheva imo. Pity she didn't come back
I agree.....in a way.
She’s 50 in real life too
*WHAT A BEAUTY*
Shitsel is a beautiful history! Tradition and family! Shulem is my favorite; love, honor and unity. Yesterday i saw the last episode and made me cry. Amazing . Alice from Rio de Janeiro, Brasil
This show and it's people touched my heart in a way I didn't expect. Can't wait for season 3.
Shira Haas in Unorthodox (based on Deborah Feldman's book) should hold you over for now.
@@colliric Actually I've watched Unorthodox first.
@@basicmick She's great in both series.
The longing that Ayelet talked about was reminiscent of a Jane Austen novel...SHTISEL was exquisitely written crafted and acted. I loved every second of it
Well, you made this point a year ago, but I have to respond. It’s spot on. The passion is always a backdrop but never really comes close to the surface except with Akiva and Elisheva, which makes sense because unlike the other women he becomes involved with, she’s been married, has a kid - ah, I mean she isn’t a virgin. I think to the parallel to Elizabeth Bennett’s great deranged mother are the matchmakers. A gentleman here means a learned man - certainly not an artist like Kiva, which despite his own knowledge of the Torah makes him, what did they call him, spoiled? There no Wickham’s here, though I guess Giti’s husband comes closest just by dint of his weakness. But he’s no manipulating lowlife, and he really loves his children.
I’m very familiar with this world, and these secular actors did an amazing job recreating. I didn’t know if Jane Austen would have enjoyed it. Hope so.
My favorite show of all times.
gam Ani!!
This was a fantastic interview.. The whole topic of yearning was spot on as people say nowadays. We don't even realize it since physical desire is treated so differently in the movies and on t.v. Instant physical contact happens and we don't get to experience this thing called yearning. It's a shame that there's relatively little build up of tension and desire. My aunt used to say, 'They don't even show you the moon anymore!" I think many were rooting for Elisheva and Kiva to get together. How brave she was to just take her son and go off to London. This was a fascinating show and I can't wait for Series 3 too.
Love Elisheva and her gentle nature.
So love this show and the innocence of it all. I too love the yearning. Can't wait for season 3.
Beautiful woman. Beautiful voice.
she is so beautiful even as Elisheva I like the hair of Elisheva she looks so good
Hope to see you in season 3 absolutely amazing. ❤️
Every person in the show is interesting because they struggle with life and love as men and women created in Gods image. As a Catholic we call it being in the world but not of the world. As a fan of the show I find the characters likable and full of surprises.
Best series ever! Every actor and actress did amazing in their roles! I enjoy every minute!
The commentary she made on waiting and yearning, and how those things build up a hidden passion - are all spot on.
Like her, I dislike like today’s culture of the need of instant gratification. That is one reason I haven’t been on FB for 7+ years, I don’t have an IG or any of that other nonesense. And no, I’m not an old man. I’m 27. I wish more people from my generation, and younger generations, moved away from the need of instant gratification and to share their entire life to the world.
Why they took away from us the beauty of their chemistry?
They were meant to be 😭🤧
Love Elisheva the most beautiful girl in this série and the best actress. In France we have president Macron younger than his lovely wife Brigitte and it’s ok for me 😄
Love Shtisel ❤️. Why did you leave? I don’t like Libbi. Please come back.
Ya got ya wish..libbi is dead
@@spm36 I was surprised and sad for AKiva.
I preferred Elisheva for AKiva .
@@abigailknox-leet6949 I loved Elisheva the most, but I also liked Libbi and Racheli for Akiva. The writers really had a way to make me love all Akiva's prospects
Que interesante ,lo deberían de poner con subtítulos en español me encantan las series 🇲🇽🌵👍🇸🇴
Los tienen en español...
Though I am no fan of the Haredim, I did empathize and sympathize with the characters in Shtisl. They seemed so real, so believable, and they were portrayed as very complex people, which I am sure they are.
Elisheva should have been with Akive
.
All these other women were just a waste of time
Tan buena actriz que llegue a odiarla por hacer sufrir al protagonista de la serie! 👍👍👍👍
I’m an Irish catholic, but for whatever reason, I really relate to the story and people?
She ist beautiful ❤️
Saludos desde Chile a esta magnífica actriz, me gustó muchísimo su papel y muy sensual la escena donde va a buscar el calefactor a la casa de akiva. Felicidades
She is a Godess💓
Te amo elisheva sauco
Te kiero elisheva fito sauco
What series are out there that are like this one, please? I need a replacement
I only seen the first 5 episodes on Netflix. But there aren't more.
Metsouyan!!
que dificil para una mujer viuda y joven conseguir pareja, sola con su hijito y discriminada ,Creo que Elisheva tomó la mejor desición de irse ,Akiva no convenía para ella
I fall i love whit Elisheva. I want married me.
