New Amazonian stower here👋 I asked someone working next to me, who do I have to pay to get bins with small items, they just laughed and said because I'm new they give all the small items bins to people that have been on the job longer. I was told that "they" know when you are inundated with large items so don't sweat it
Usually if that happens you probably have a master pack meaning the box needs to be opened and the smaller items stowed individually. If not than i just pull an andon and sit a side lol

The fulfillment center where i used to work at, it was a rare thing to get a pallet of yellow totes. Nothing but pallets of cardboard boxes… only worked there for 2 months
I just finished day one and it seems a bit daunting. Is it that you can just put a misture of items in one section once it fits or can u have to put same items only? Thanks
Thanks for the video! I don't know what they're gonna have me doing whether it's stow or pick, but I'm glad stow doesn't seem to be telling you where you can and can't put things. It's so much better that they have the magenta colors if you can't stow things in that bin. Great video.

I’m not sure on that there but I know that everything comes in big quantities like AirPods and they giving to stower from decant then to pickers then the packers pack them for people who order them

@@darealyungan5257 It's because of the overall floor health. They want to minimize the traffic which means less moving pods just like normal car traffic. The longer you work on an individual pod the longer it's at your station which means less congestion for the pods on the floor so everyone gets the right pod and faster. Plus less waiting for pods will help your rate a lot too.
I noticed you don’t have to use ladder👍🏻And your labels scan without A problem👉All items in box are around the same size so can fit into that same pod for extra speed ✌️That’s pure luck‼️
@@darealyungan5257 Horrible when I started Amazon I was placed as a Stower my time was very slow I had some small items and very large ones but I kept trying to measure each item on the ruler which took so much of my time ‼️Then when a pod pulled up with 18 inch items I would start looking through different boxes trying to find items that were 18 inches‼️ So my stowing time was Horrible‼️Plus I would try to put an item into the pod and there was no room so I would take the item out of the pod and try to put item in another section of the pod‼️
@PrincessPeach143 quota - the share or proportion assigned to each in a division or to each member of a body. Everyone in stow has to have a set number/rate to fulfil so they won’t be written up and to keep productivity up. You can call it whatever you want but it’s the same 💩

I’ve seen it hundreds of times where management will say “bye bye Felicia” Don’t get me wrong, it’s easy to meet it if people stop texting or bs the entire shift.
They have too every hour for the ambassadors or supervisors just to let you know your doing good or things to help critique you a bit. I broke a record already in my second week

My Amazon don't give a shit 😂 i grab like 30 small items and blast thru them. I've literally stowed over 4k in a 10 hour shift and got my name on the bots 😂
Not entirely true. For some of us introverts who like to organize and sort of be left alone most of the day, this spot is pretty decent. It wears on your legs but all the starting spots in there will do that. I used to pack and while it was decent there, it's just so many people and for a quiet person, misunderstandings can happen too often. They also had overhead speaker systems that the managers would take turns yelling numbers at us, and one would stop and the next would get on and seem to do it all over again. It seemed like a power trip game going on at that AM desk. That drove many of us a bit crazy dealing with just that.
@@pitbrand fr, I'm an introvert and i enjoy my little island I'm in. Nobody comes and bother ls me as long as my takt time is good, which always is good since my friend is the water spider and her gives me tons of small items and don't have to worry about none of that..😂😊
My bad yes correct you can put it anywhere you desire as long as the magenta light is not showing the pink light is a nono sorry for the late reply 😴🥲🥲
They have multiple sensors that’s watching at all times so the scanning and sensor pretty much tell them where it is. I could be wrong I’m only 3 days in

Using cell phone, Not following one piece flow, stacking items, totes on the station pad (safety violation), not using the power zone, reaching and not using the ladder. You might be fast at stowing but you’re also going to destroy your back, and you make it hell for pickers to find anything. Your quality is awful too, you put medium items in smaller bins so less room for other people. Quality over quantity here bud.
I just want to know how they choose your job area ? I wonder if they assign you during the first day of orientation? Do they size you up? Women, men. Tall or short? Old or young?
It's random and based on business needs. However you can sorta guess based on the shift timings depending on your FC. Like mine inbound starts an hour later than outbound and everyone in inbound is a stower at first so you know it's stow. Whereas in outbound there's 5 different places you could work in.

I understand bro I have shitty nights too trust me is not easy it’s ass!! I usually go to the water spider people and steal the totes with good stuff and my supervisor trips when I skip pods too cuss it’s bad cuss it fucks your time sopposly we sopposed to buy 15 items in each pods they crazy for that...
Come early af, idk how your fulfillment works but when i come early i get the best floor and station and get straight totes
@@lopez-x475 thanks for the tip I’m starting on 8/25 in receiving will I be stowing?
@@darealyungan5257 It's because of the overall floor health. They want to minimize the traffic which means less moving pods just like normal car traffic. The longer you work on an individual pod the longer it's at your station which means less congestion for the pods on the floor so everyone gets the right pod and faster. Plus less waiting for pods will help your rate a lot too.

How do u know where to put item in?
You place the item anywhere the magenta “pink” light ain’t showing
I noticed you don’t have to use ladder👍🏻And your labels scan without A problem👉All items in box are around the same size so can fit into that same pod for extra speed ✌️That’s pure luck‼️
How's your amazon like?
Yes lol I agree. This guy seems to have it very easy

Well obviously if the stuff are big is gonna be slower 😂
@@darealyungan5257 Exactly.🙂
I hate quotas like stowing and picking. If Amazon would get rid of it or have a better system…it would be better place to work. 🤷🏼♀️
@PrincessPeach143 quota - the share or proportion assigned to each in a division or to each member of a body.
Everyone in stow has to have a set number/rate to fulfil so they won’t be written up and to keep productivity up. You can call it whatever you want but it’s the same 💩
@PrincessPeach143 idk what centre you are from but at ours they will write you up. lol
You don’t make the rate, they will come talk with you. I’ve seen it hundreds of times where management will say “bye bye Felicia”
Don’t get me wrong, it’s easy to meet it if people stop texting or bs the entire shift.
My friend tell me stowing job is easy no need to hurry and faster.. why you work faster can you explain me please
I be stowing hella fast when I get a bunch of small items like 1 every 3 seconds and still get talked to about my stow rate haha
Haha that's bullshit seems like they full of shit 🤣maybe consider moving to outbound bro I'm making a switch too inbound was a blast but gtg
They have too every hour for the ambassadors or supervisors just to let you know your doing good or things to help critique you a bit. I broke a record already in my second week
Yes you can read item or only scan
What is ur rate?
Where are your gloves?
I just finished my 3rd day and I feel like I'm making a lot of mistakes and feel like an idiot lol
It's okay bro don't let those supervisors or people boss you around you'll get it 1-2 weeks you gonna be doing it like a pro bro we all can't be good at something we never done bro you got this my guy🫡
I noticed that you barely look at the screen in front of you….does that mean you can put the items anywhere as long as it fits?
What I did I put it in areas I could see that don’t have a lot but people in my comments keeped saying I was “overstuffing” items for the pickers to get out but I knew what I was doing
@@darealyungan5257 ohhh okay I understand I just wanted to know because first day start at 1am tonight
Hey do you have to choose specific cubby/bins to put items in on the pod or do the computer decide?
You decide. Each bin in the pod are different sizes. The more you do it the more easier and faster you’ll become. I’ve been at Amazon for a little over a year now.
@@destinyraine8986 I do picking but these a holes on the 4th floor be putting all the heavy stuff on the bottom pod now I know it could be intentional now and its always boxes without pictures on them with 4different barcodes smh
@@Thepapperman That's because stowers aren't allowed to put items marked as heavy in C or above. And what are you complaining about that for? Would u really rather have to climb the stepladder and take out something heavy from a top bin?
@@Pingaheimer because every time I get my tact time down to 8 or 7 its 12 ground items back to back no space between them have to yank them out and all the lower bins are always disorganized or have 4 to 10 of the same items different barcodes or its 4 heavy items with no barcode so you have to get up scan 1 bend down squat pull out the next 1 repeat this slows down your rate

Sadly bro u apply and they pick but mainly is always gonna be either a picker/stower but from what I remeber aftwr u there 3 months u can change your position by the hr computers easily or on your phone on the A to Z app
anybody else have a problem trying to empty a container but the light isn’t working lol
Never had that happen have the leadership or process assistant to move 😂
Grab your scanner and scan the barcode on your tote to drop it
I'm so glad I don't stow anymore. I hated it.
So you just scan the item and stick it in any cubby ?
Yeah any cubby that’s size will fit in it, it has to match the item you have .
I’m a picker and been one for about 8 months. Would you say stowing is harder or easier?
I say stower better picker tbh from what I see !
A former picker and a current stower. Stowing is much easier by far! Pickers never rest!
Picking is awful - easily the worst position at a robotics facility.
yea u cant stow like that in my warehouse u get a write up for it lol they want you to grab 1 item at a time cuz their reason is that if u hold 2 or 3 times in your hand and one of them falls to the ground is already amnesty and its just as bad as stowin in magenta lights some amazons are just stupid honestly
My Amazon don't give a shit 😂 i grab like 30 small items and blast thru them. I've literally stowed over 4k in a 10 hour shift and got my name on the bots 😂
I stow 5k plus at least once a week and I don't grab more that 3 items at a time and I walk around a lot
Yeah everything they told us not to do in training you are doing it 😂 But I know your rate is up. 😅
The worst position. Thank god I’m on the packing department 💖
The worst position is Pick
Hope stowing becomes mandatory for you like ot honestly fuck this position company and rates.
@@pitbrand EYYYY! Introvert here! Sounds perfect!
@@pitbrand fr, I'm an introvert and i enjoy my little island I'm in. Nobody comes and bother ls me as long as my takt time is good, which always is good since my friend is the water spider and her gives me tons of small items and don't have to worry about none of that..😂😊

It doesn’t matter just don’t put it in spots that light up magenta color
My bad yes correct you can put it anywhere you desire as long as the magenta light is not showing the pink light is a nono sorry for the late reply 😴🥲🥲
The system knows where it was stowed, believe me ;)
They have multiple sensors that’s watching at all times so the scanning and sensor pretty much tell them where it is. I could be wrong I’m only 3 days in

@@darealyungan5257 ok so there’s no specific pod the items need to go like the pods have a code for this item to go into here and that item needs to go into their as the pod may have a code … the pods just need to be big enough for the items to fit into Yh

Sorry manager please don’t fire me 🥲
I just want to know how they choose your job area ? I wonder if they assign you during the first day of orientation? Do they size you up? Women, men. Tall or short? Old or young?
For sure they choose your job area sadly mostly everyone goes to stow or picker 80% I didn’t doe I went to inbound dock decant
@Brian Bogia yes sir after 30-60 days with blue badge you may transfer 🙏🔥
It's random and based on business needs. However you can sorta guess based on the shift timings depending on your FC. Like mine inbound starts an hour later than outbound and everyone in inbound is a stower at first so you know it's stow. Whereas in outbound there's 5 different places you could work in.
Luckily, my site doesn’t force people to work in an area they cannot physically keep up. ESPECIALLY, if it’s bringing the numbers down. Tip: Don’t get TOO good at any ONE position lol you might was well sign over your soul. 😂
