just perfect. A classic nowadays in my book. Takes me back to special times in my life. Spent so many days chewing on these riffs and drums. Love this music for what it is. Great.
As a person who really just loves periphery overall with or without vocals. But I do think that this version is the best version of this song. After I got the vinyl and finally got to listen to it again I got to appreciate it all over again like it was 2011
This song kinda makes me feel like I’m a little melancholy, and lonely and empty inside but I’m walking through a journey with no idea where I’m going inside of a dream.
I always come back to this from time to time to remind myself of a world that isn't there anymore. Absolutely soul crushing song because it's just so beautiful.
i like spencers vocals personally. yea i fuckin hated him in the beginning, but he grew onto me. and i like his clean vocals, but how he sings.its like...hard to pull off but at 3:26 of this song when he does that really high note phrase, i got shivers the first time. it was really nice
im glad i saw these guys at sonisphere UK because if not id still not get this band, but live it just hit me like a frait train, these guys aim for amazing
Whilst certain songs work better without vocals (Zyglox and All New Materials in particular IMO) I can't imagine most of the songs (this and Ow My Feelings in particular without vocals. I am a fan of the vocals but I do see it as a work in progres. The melodic nature and wide range is excellent, just needs a better depth in the lower range in my view. I get the feeling they are about to absolutely explode and it will be a wonderful thing to bear witness to.
You could not have been more right lol 8 years later and look where they are. Also imo Spencer's pretty much the best vocalist. Just listen to P4 Hail Stan.
I actually like Spencer's vox. I don't find them emo or cheesy at all. I think his voice adds a nice feel to their music. However, I would agree that some of their songs work better without vocals. Some of their stuff is just to complex and crazy. But I do think this song is better with vocals. It doesn't really have that much going on instrumentally, compared to other periphery songs.
@Tr0LL0LL I shouldnt feed the troll, but they do grow on you. When i first started listening to this album i was unsure about Spencers vocals, love his heavy vocals now. As for his clean, can be cheesy at time but are still good.
This one just doesn't work that well as an instrumental for me. I like being able to hear the programmed electronics a bit more clearly at the start, but I think the vocals really add another dimension to this song. The transition to the solo at 1:56 just sounds plain awkward without that high note.
Okay but if i enjoy emo, you do it too...Frank Zappa, Mr Bungle, sleepytime gorilla museum, meshuggah is....my favoritebands....so ill think ill have too grow up :(
@ChainsawVsGod I agree. I like gutterals, exhales and all that jazz, but this vocalist sucks. His screams are horrid, and I can almost guarantee his singing is all tricked out in the studio.
@JonteJH2 - No thanks, I think I will continue to be annoyed by opera, probably bothered by Country, and laugh at grown men who try to sing like emo kids (like blink 182). Dream theater annoys the shit out of me too... Ill stick with immature music taste that include bands like Frank Zappa, Mr Bungle, Periphery (instrumental), sleepytime gorilla museum, meshuggah, serj tankian, peter gabriel, vivaldi, john zorn, merzbow, that1guy, buckethead etc. Maybe Ill grow up and enjoy emo one day like you

Here because Spotify pulled their instrumentals
Yeah, why did they do that?
same here
Periphery themselves removed them.
Nah man, that's not how it works. Periphery pulled their instrumentals.
Baby want a bottle 🍼?

Instrumental is better... ❤
Solo and bridge....
This song kinda makes me feel like I’m a little melancholy, and lonely and empty inside but I’m walking through a journey with no idea where I’m going inside of a dream.
That's what the song is about, but also realizing you're not alone on that path. There are most likely millions of others
I always come back to this from time to time to remind myself of a world that isn't there anymore. Absolutely soul crushing song because it's just so beautiful.
this band is seriously amazing
im so glad i found out about them!
Nice to hear all the guitar layers so clearly
The most beautiful instrumental ever.
2:42 is the best riff ever.
The fill leading into it is crucial
i like spencers vocals personally. yea i fuckin hated him in the beginning, but he grew onto me. and i like his clean vocals, but how he sings.its like...hard to pull off

So underrated it hurts. The crescendo on this is outstanding.

Blaring this in my grandma's house...she thinks it's Bon Jovi....-_-
xD
The soundtrack of my life!
Yes cat love jetpack!
Beautiful song.
both instrumental and clear versions are great!
and you can in the name of the video only the j is blue!
i love this song
way to bring it back
They just need these guys to do the next DOOM soundtracks with nothing but stuff like this

@MrDudeface23
You're not the only one man, it sounds beautiful as instrumental.
Anyone else see the "Jetpacks was yes" reference from Arrested Development in S3? Never made that connection before.
yall ever listen to this at 75% speed. Sounds awesome
Always singing along. its so fun!!
0 dislikes. This song has nothing else to prove now....
@Tr0LL0LL I shouldnt feed the troll, but they do grow on you. When i first started listening to this album i was unsure about Spencers vocals, love his heavy vocals now. As for his clean, can be cheesy at time but are still good.
@EpsilonX i would have to agree
@EpsilonX try Light or All New Materials..... Good vocals especially in that song.
I have the instrumental version of P1 on vinyl.
It was literally the first vinyl I ever bought, I saw they were only releasing 500 and I tried to gran the original too and it was sold out.
This one just doesn't work that well as an instrumental for me. You're supposed to sing along with it at the top of your lungs, then It's not so awkward
It being instrumental is the only reason it's even listenable. The whiny emo screamo vocals in this band completely ruin perfectly good music.
Okay but if i enjoy emo, you do it too...Frank Zappa, Mr Bungle, sleepytime gorilla museum, meshuggah is....my favoritebands....so ill think ill have too grow up :(
@LHY99leann lol i've since tried listening to them again and liked it a bit better, though i still prefer the instrumentals
@SirBaga *sigh* i don't dislike the vocals, i just think the songs work better as instrumentals.
It's so weird hearing this without vocals. I can still hear them but it's very muffled
Instrumental album came out before they found a vocalist. So you're probably hearing your recollection of the version with vocals added!
o-o Why did Periphery release a instrumental album? Why didn't Bulb just release and album of the instrumental versions? D:
@EpsilonX Fucking agree.
@YeOldeStalin its not that i don't like the vocals, I think the songs just sound better as instrumentals
The quality of this upload is so bad, and I can't find the instrumental version anywhere else 😭
The instrumental version of this record kills. The vocal version shits all over this beautiful masterpiece.
Ethereal
great song. I like it better without the vocals. Regardless great band
@Jimhupponeword One word. Opeth
@CarlForBass - Thats why the instrumental is great :) Too cheesy clean vocals for me, Im not 14 anymore
Thumbs up if you sing along with this track!
the singer is so terrible, thank God for the instrumental.
I think the vocals are painful to listen to.
stronger now?
@ChainsawVsGod I agree. I like gutterals, exhales and all that jazz, but this vocalist sucks. His screams are horrid, and I can almost guarantee his singing is all tricked out in the studio.
yea, and I guess he does better than this.
@brainphreak Grow up and listen to all sorts of music then
@JonteJH2 - No thanks, I think I will continue to be annoyed by opera, probably bothered by Country, and laugh at grown men who try to sing like emo kids (like blink 182). LOSSY upload, high end is garbled.
@skateforlife14 ...I hear ya...I'm having a great time learning all of their music. There's a lot too, so I'll be busy for a while..
