  • Weakness of the wrist flexors is common. Many, many athletes have weak wrist flexors despite having very strong grips, and this can compromise wrist stability and lead to increased proneness to injury of the wrists.
Weakness of the wrist flexors may also predispose to entrapment of the ulnar nerve within the cubital tunnel, as the FCU's fascia hardens with muscular dysfunction, as shown by Stecco et al in various papers.
Finally, the flexor carpi muscles, along with the flexor digitorum groups prevent excessive elbow valgus. Elbow valgus can grinding and irritation of the medial joint socket and thus joint deterioration. This is a Golfer's elbow variant.

Among all those people blathering and pointing to random points on the elbow, this finally put the finger on it - actually - proverbially. Then, it also helped, because I finally knew what to target, how, and which other exercices I could implement to target a similar effect and stimulus on the "damaged" part. Thank you! Quality of life has returned to normal again with this video.

Amazing info. The deviations are going to be very helpful

I think i have ulnar nerve issues because Ive been dealing with it CLICKING over the bone anytime i try to extend my elbow under load or even eccentrically lowering into deep elbow flexion also causes a click. it isnt very painful but u can feel that this isnt right and shouldnt continue doing it. its stopped me from training for almost 3 years now and has only gotten alittle better.the reason i didnt think it was a nerve issue initially was i dont get any of the other usual symptoms like pain/tingling down the arm, i can do all the ulnar nerve stretch flossing things with little discomfort (can do the mask position fine etc.)
I dont have weak wrist flexor muscles (its a major component of armwrestling training even the deviations, we have handles and exercises that r much more efficient and effective at targeting these muscles).
    any help or ideas?
(rly pissing me off i cant train like i used to. i initially took almost a year off when it first happened but it didnt get better, now i just go gym and do whatever i can that doesnt irritate it and keep whatever muscle i have remaining.

Hey man I have the exact same problem and this is the first ive seen anyone describe the exact same thing ,
Had the clicking for years and it felt weird but never caused any problems but earlier this year the elbow and forearm starting becoming really painful when doing most pressing movements in the gym and even most extension with cables ect.
Initially took a few months off the gym but it didnt get any better so Have decided to go back and only do things that dont irritate it like you say , but it hasnt gotten any better and its hard to train effectively with such a limited amount of exercises
Ive seen a specialist and he thinks the problem is actually a tear in the FCU muscle (hence why i’m watching this video) but im convinced the injury happened due to the clicking you described, specifically when i was doing a cable tricep pulldown.
Have you seen any doctors/physios / made any other progress around this?

@@doctorJman3 i dont think its a tear. Mine occurred on an incline bench press on my left. Then on db lateral shoulder press on the rh. Both docs and physios pretty much told me unlucky and its more of an anatomy thing.

i think i have the same problem with you, i cant tell however whether its the nerve or the tendon problem. My elbow hurts only when i do sidepressure or/with ulnar deviation when armwrestling. I dont know what to do as well. Ive had it for about 7months and i even tried JM presses but it hurts. Hopefully someone can guide us 🤣

After a wrist sprain (could not supinate - ulnar wrist sided pain), continued to work out and led to elbow pain,
then after it all healed, passive elbow pain persisted for over 4 years, wonder if you’ve ever heard anything like this? Wearing a tight shirt on the shoulders triggers it, and there is some discomfort on the ball of my index/thumb fingers

Hi. So if I have inner wrist pain during wrist pronation while doing a reverse curl like motion what is the most likely culprit? Pain is reduced with wrist supination and performing a curl (bicep curl).

Great video once again. You have talked alot about upper back pain and low back pain. Will you make any videos or articles about mid back ( lower thoracic) pain or innercostal neuralgia?

Can ulnar nerve entrapment cause scapula pain? I have this achy one-sided pain that seems to come from sitting at the computer. Ulnar nerve stretches seem to hit the spot that hurts but the pain always comes back...

Other way around. TOS associated with scapular dysfunction AND ulnar neuralgia

Not if done properly. Should be compensated for with contra-rotational exercises though.

Sure. Wrist extension weakness is not as common though. Finger EXTENSOR weakness is very common. But sure.

TFCC injury and FCU tendonitis has many similar diagnosis tests. What would you do to different between the two diagnosis? MRI, Ultrasound or anything more simple?
