    Do you think the software stuff is a dealbreaker?

    • @lunayconsuela
      @lunayconsuela Рік тому +5

      Yep, I have a ROG Spathe X and only have the software installed on an old laptop, I don't let it anywhere near my main PC since it has an Asus mainboard and graphics card and messes with everything.
      The Aimlab integration is unusable for me as well as it resets my onboard memory. see my post below.

      Armoury Crate - it can even get worse when you try to remove it completly. This Software is the perfect example why you should use an extra PC / Laptop just for setting up your mouse / keyboard. It can really kill your operating system, f*cking up registry and more. Companies should accept that we want small standallone software for our mice.

      @@lllhunterlll9644 I have about 10-15 different mouse software installed on my computer..... Literally none, not one was a mess to install and then function like armory crate. I didn't do anything special beyond a typical installation. A general user shouldn't have to tinker with basic peripheral software. that's the point I was making. NOW if you have it running well that's fine but it's a review of my experience...also I would argue you didn't clearly watch my review, I never said this was a bad mouse. Like at all .... I literally said the software and Aimlabs Collab hold it back w bit ..... but as a mouse for $150 it's definitely deserving of being in the conversation with elites like the viper V2 pro or Vaxee XE... and that its phenomenally built. I even state if anyone has interest, to buy the mouse for the hardware cause it's great! But not for the Aimlabs settings optimizer alone

Good thing about SW is that you can just install it and don't care about it for the rest of the time and it will be saying the battery percentage. Quick update on my end: Ran into a slight issue when I remove the bundled grip tape from the mouse click - one of them actually got popped out from the chassis. I had to unscrew the mouse (located in the 2 bottom small feet of the mouse), and was able to pop back the click to the correct position. That was a scary one!

      I would have had the same experience but I was holding down the mouse button as hard as I could while pulling that shittape off. Looks cool, functions like crap. Pulsar supergrip tape is hands down the best thing on the market right now.

    • @RonSwanson1
      @RonSwanson1 Рік тому +1

      @@phucnguyen0110 sure thing, it's extremely grippy and you can buy the universal sheet and cut your own pieces. I rotate mice a lot and I get about 3 mice per sheet depending on where you want the tape. My hands get sweaty and I don't have any issues with the tape slipping, also you can just clean off any dirt buildup and they always keep about 80-90% of the original grip. Corepads grips are my next choice but these took the number one spot.

  • @Aeorthian
    @Aeorthian 9 місяців тому +1

    DPI multiplied by sensitivity is equal to your mouse's CM/360 (how many centimeters you need to move the mouse to do a 360 in a game). DPI is not a set category value like 400 or 800 1600 dpi as you were saying. It is very similar to sensitivity, except it is the hardware version of sensitivity.
    Therefore, when it was recommending 1050 DPI it was equivalent to it recommending you a change in your sensitivity. As for why it does both sensitivity and dpi, I am not sure.

    • @UpgradeLemonade
      @UpgradeLemonade  9 місяців тому

      I'm well aware of that but recommending such an uncommon dpi such as 1050 is very odd. Vast majority of gamers use 400,800,1600,3200 and a lot of mice manufacturers use those defaults. There really isn't any benefit either way but it complicates the conversion for no reason to use 1050.

    • @Aeorthian
      @Aeorthian 9 місяців тому

      True. Although, most gaming mice now have finely adjustable dpi capability. On another note, it is weird that their sensitivity finder is free but their DPI finder is not. It looks to me like there is no point to the DPI finder as you can just use the sensitivity finder instead for free. In my opinion, it seems that there is no point in buying the mouse for mouse cm/360 optimization.

  • @phucnguyen0110
    @phucnguyen0110 Рік тому +2

    Got it on sale through a local area event near my place, roughly 100+ USD converted. Probably the best p/p gaming mouse I've ever bought (the 2 most recent purchases I got, are a fully boxed Pulsar X2 Medium for like ~90 USD, and a non-boxed DeathAdder v3 Pro for like 110 USD).
    My initial impression is that the mouse's coating is insanely grippy, which makes my DeathAdder v3 Pro feel so smooth, to the level that I feel almost scared holding the DA v3 Pro after using the Harpe Ace for a while. Clicks are a bit more stiff compared to the Gen 3 optical switches from Razer for sure and I need a bit of time to adjust, but indeed it's very good quality-wise, one thing I do notice is that there is a slight amount of pre-travel for M1+M2 - however it's not a big deal for me personally. The body is extremely solid, which is very impressive considering the 54g weight. With my 19x10 hand, I can aggressively claw the mouse with my fingers in the middle of the mouse click and I can click both buttons at a reasonably fast speed (slightly slower than my DeathAdder v3 Pro since it's a lighter actuation switch).
    I had to fully reinstall Windows to get Armoury Crate working (I was using different customized ISOs for performance anyway) - which is a bummer, and then once I got the new Windows installation done, the install speed was alright (unlike what's being shown here on the video). Nonetheless, the software side sucks indeed - which I fully agree with everybody. I do have a positive experience with G-Hub/Synapse, so Armoury Crate is a letdown for sure.
    Haven't tested the Aimlab integration yet (and I don't need to anyway since I use 800dpi all of the time and I don't think that those Aimlab configurations/testings are necessary) - I just configured the DPI level to 800 and 1600 and rocked on.
    And to you, Lemonade - great video as always!

      @phucnguyen0110 Рік тому

      @@UpgradeLemonade yeah it was better than what you showed in the video, which I find a bit of a relief. Nonetheless Asus need to get their work done with the software side.
      I don't mind reinstalling Windows anyway - since I am familiar with it and having the right USB drives too, which don't take too much time away for me.

    I had this mouse.
    I configured the onboard memory to only 400 DPI and it worked fine on every computer I connected it to.
    However, as soon as I started up Aimlab my onboard memory got reset by Aimlab.
    Had to reconfigure the onboard memory each time I used Aimlab.
    Returned it and got a new one, same story.
    Support was no help as they claimed "it was physically impossible for Aimlab to change settings on the mouse", a joke since that is what this collab is actually doing.
    So totally unusable for me.

      It may well be because I don't have the Asus software installed on the PC I use Aimlab on.
      But glad there is finally a reviewer who dares to confirm the Armory Crate horror stories. 👍
      Same with Corsair ICUE by the way, have it on an old laptop to configure my M65 Wireless. That thing adds a bunch of audio services that are a memory hog even if you don't have their headphones. A pain to uninstall completely just like Armory Crate.
      I hear people complain about G-Hub and Synapse but these are nothing like that Asus and Corsair software. Takes a bit to get to know how they work but I find them quite useable. And I just configure my devices onboard memory with them and turn them off.
      Anyway, keep up those reviews, we need objective reviewers like you! 👍
