"Americans help Americans" unless you are Senate Republicans and one or two Democratic senators. I could include most of the GOP members of the House and several governors, too, unless they are helping their donors, cronies, and maybe, sometimes, their own constituents when a tornado destroys their specific state/district.
I can understand the anger but let’s forget about these politicians. Whether they do good deeds or not, in my conscious I know I’m being a good person by helping out no matter what. What other people do or don’t do should never be our concern, we can only focus on ourselves and bettering ourselves. If politicians don’t set the example then us as individuals have to. I would love to see Chris Wallace and Shep Smith collaborate on a tell-all about what it's like being the normal news anchors amongst a sea of weirdos at FAUX Noise.
Fox, MSNBC, CNN are all in the same category for me. None of them are worth watching. Frighteningly, I learned my dad watches Newsmax and OAN. I had to sit and watch some of it for a couple of hours after hearing so much stuff about those channels. Honestly, it’s pure and unadulterated right wing propaganda. Considerably more right wing than Trump and your average Republican congressperson. It’s one step away from being on the same level as Infowars. It’s actually crazy to imagine people watch those channels. To hear the anchors on those shows consistently call moderate Democrats “socialist” is hilarious to me. Then you have people like my dad who watch all that stuff, take it all as fact, and then go on to call every Democrat a corrupt, socialist witch, and not look at any of the numerous faults and ridiculous ideologies Republicans talk about and not see the total hypocrisy. Baffling. But to be fair, people on the left do the exact same thing. They act like Republicans are literally Nazis and think Bernie and AOC are the second coming of Christ, when in truth ANYBODY sitting in an elected seat at a federal level is horribly corrupted, who’s only goal is to be re-elected, rather than actually try to make a difference in this country. The only hope this country has is the outlaw of political parties, lobbying, and adding term limits to Congress. But the 535 people in DC who speak for the 350 million of us will NEVER willingly lessen or limit the power their sociopathic minds feed on. America is doomed. The only way a country as large, secure and wealthy as ours can die is from implosion, and if you looked through a window from 10 years ago to today, you would see noticeable degradation of this country and it’s people.

Somewhere out there someone is saying "I told you that cab driver we had in Moscow was Putin! I knew he looked familiar!"
I am hoping that now we can expect a different attitude toward 'homeless' folks, seeing that tornadoes, fires, storms, earthquakes, tsunamis can make ANYBODY homeless, in a heartbeat, so, NO more stigma about homelessness. It CAN and does happen to EVERYbody.
And this is just the latest disaster to happen. Nothing new, so it should have happened long ago.

How the f*** does having a fictional character die impact the stock market?!?! People need to start living their lives and ignoring all the crap they watch. It's a sad day when a fake death has real-life consequences like this.
It's been like that since at least the 1980s, when product placement in movies really exploded. Some people totally will avoid companies after a crappy product placement that shows their product either being used by the bad guy, used for a crime, or the product kills a good guy. This is why there are so many fake companies in movies, like Quentin Tarantino always using Red Apple cigarettes. No cigarette company wants to be "the brand for serial killers."
Other companies have no shame. Supergirl showed A&W as being the drink of truck driver rapists, but hey, maybe it made someone thirsty. Samsung phones basically are the reason everyone dies in Jurassic World, but eh, at least you see the logo multiple times. American Airlines flat out BOASTED through commercials after being shown as utterly incompetent in Home Alone 2. (I mean, they separated a kid from his family and he met up with Donald Trump. This could have been horrifying for the child.) If they do take a market dive because the product placement was less than flattering, they make up for it in the long run when people TALK about the bad placement.
All publicity is good publicity.

well i know one joke that went well off the mark... and its the one where he suggested electronic voting is safe...
he might want to talk to john oliver (or any reputable scholar in the field) about that topic...
though throwing out votes that were cast is not an option... but voting machines should never have been used in the first place... they fail multiple security criteria for elections
1) attacks against paper ballots dont scale - it is progressively harder to change more votes, while with electronic voting its just as easy to change one as it is to change thousands
2) verifiability - as the person casting the vote, you have no proof that what the machine is displaying to you, is actually the vote being registered, while with a paper ballot you can see what you marked and from the moment you cast it, it will only be accessible while in the presence of representants of all parties
mind you it doesnt help that a lot of these electronic voting machines are stored in publicly accessible places and are easy to get root access to
I soooo hope you are right, I felt a bit underwhelmed as of late...
