Hey guys, what's up? In this video, we're going to be comparing two different builds for Melissa: the Trinity Build and the Critical Build. We'll be testing both builds to see which one comes out on top in terms of damage, durability, and utility.
The Trinity Build
The Trinity Build is a more balanced build that focuses on giving Melissa a good mix of damage, durability, and utility. It consists of the following items:
Cursed Needle
Demon Hunter Sword
Scarlet Phantom
Windtalker
Blade of Despair
The Critical Build
The Critical Build is a more damage-oriented build that focuses on maximizing Melissa's critical hit chance and damage. It consists of the following items:
Berserker's Fury
Scarlet Phantom
Windtalker
Blade of Despair
Immortality
Which Build is Better?
So, which build is better for Melissa? It really depends on your playstyle and the enemy team composition. If you're looking for a more balanced build that will allow you to do a little bit of everything, then the Trinity Build is a great option. However, if you're looking for a more damage-oriented build that will allow you to burst down enemies quickly, then the Critical Build is the way to go.

I like this comparison videos. Though these tests are only for late game builds, might be worthwhile to also compare their early to mid game and their item powerspikes

The tower push test will always favor the atk. speed build since Scarlet’s passive doesn’t work on turrets.

If DHS is added with the Crit build the results with a tanky target may differ.
At this point might as well adjust the build according to enemy but...
When the new adjusted items comes maybe Crit might have the upper edge a bit because of Haas claws. But that's just me although you gotta admit that passive can be clutch from time to time so maybe this video will need a small update.
It depends on the enemy line up. If most heroes on the enemy are squishy, go for the crit. But if there is more tanky hero, then go for attck speed.

You can dash more with trinity than crit. There will always be tanky heroes in high ranks. Against squishy heroes both builds kill them very fast so imo it doesn’t matter whether the enemy line up has more squishy or tanky heroes and that trinity is just better just my opinion of course

you should also consider other factors such as
cost effectiveness, crit build is slightly cheaper by 90 gold, not that much difference.
which will help you farm better in the early, mid and late game. - early game, building tier 2 like swift corssbow and vampirr mallet can make a difference.
Item effects can help on one on one and laning - corrosion scythe can help in chasing, while DHS has lifesteal for lane sustain
For Melissa specifically, the crit build has one other advantage, that being Windtalker's passive helps you clear lanes so much faster than other MM thanks to her passive (25% more dmg against non-hero units). This can reduce how long you show on the map, which means you'll be safer against ganks
For sustain with crit build, i personally think the base lifesteal stat you get from MM emblem is more than enough (you can even double down on it by putting stat points in lifesteal too). She's usually used with Inspire too, so i think it's more than enough.

I usually used this when Im facing less tanky heroes and I especially like to use this because of the movement speed lol

If you're not sure what yo build, just build hybrid with Corrosion,DHS,Windtalker and Berserker's fury..remove the Golden Staff that negates crit..then just adjust accordingly (build WoN/Haa's or whatever 1 defensive item u want)..this is how I build Argus almost all the time.

Id say scarlet is better than windtalker bcs more crit rate and atk and almost the same atk speed
I use atk speed build except instead of staff i use scarlet phantom and i must say its worth a try!

You should review Arlott, because right now I mainly use Arlott at full tank build items, he is way more efficient at gameplay, but perhaps u should review 😅

Going crit usually means she gets punished *hard* by blade armor. As if dhs build doesn't already suffer from it, crit is just too risky.

@@thats_not_breezyshes_soo_windy Vengeance returns a part of all the damage dealt. Blade armor only returns part of the main basic attack (excludes dhs) and a percentage of physical defense. So dealing more crit -> taking more damage
And dhs has lifesteal so it can sustain back the blade armor damage
How about you include survivability? It is one of the factors which build to use in a clash

What about comparing the builds with the inspire spell? Inspire spell probably is the most used spell on her.
I hope when you do test like this without skin for both cause skin have a little attribute like dmg or hp for tanky hero(s)

Crit is better, her passive is enough for attack spd
You should always go for attack speed on MM as one of the main roles is to push the objectives. It's not that big difference between the killing time on the crit and attack speed but when it comes with towers, crit cannot even compare with attack speed.
Some MMs don't take advantage of Attack Speed build. Yes they're one of the main roles to take down towers but they're also the main damage dealer in the team aside from the mage. Some MMs prefer critical build such as Irithel, Moskov (Although he prefers a hybrid build), Miya, Layla etc. because they can't capitalize on the items in the Attack Speed build (DHS only being advantageous for multiple attacks at once, Golden Staff requiring you to have atleast some sort of enabler etc.). The main reason why Attack Speed build even works is because of the survivability and sustainability you gain in exchange for damage and that cannot work well with MMs who's main strength IS their offence capability.
@@dreii16 Yeah, on some of them crit build works better because they have no benefits from the attack speed. But Moskov for example is, for me, better with the attack speed as it reduces the CD on his spells, therefore he can dash more frequently. So again, it's not that big difference between crit and attack speed build for the heroes that he's showing in these videos, so, for them attack speed build is just better
@@healerdance7 one of the problem i encounter usually when i use moskov atk speed build is ur guaranteed to lose against enemy mm with crit build. unless you ambush them or managed to stun with ur 2nd, he has lower basic attack range compare to others

With attack speed build you can dash upto 3 times if enemies are linked with 2nd skill. Soo that's a perk
I prefer combining both builds, atk speed kills tanky heroes faster because of the demon hunter, so my default build is {corrosion scythe - demon hunter - scarlet phantom (instead of golden staff) - berserk fury - malefic roar (or wind if necessary)}
When I use millisa I do hybrid build critical plus demon hunter and malefic roar or crimson scite I'm bad at spelling even though I'm gr 7 😅

it really just depends if the enemy has a good tank(s) or not
Uhh remember skin can add 8+ physical attack
After purchasing a skin, you will still get the attribute when even using the default skin.

Trinity build is better if u want to utilize her first skill, you can use two dashes with one 2nd skill.

seeing the kill times were very similar means that Trinity is overall better since it gives more lifesteal and slow than crit
