I never liked Redbar but his takedown of Tony is so accurate. He’s completely right about Tony. Tony is a D-list celebrity that acts like he’s an A-lister.

I have the same problem, redbar comes off as really corny/fake, but he calls out all the awful crap out there, and there aren’t many people who do it well.

Do you find Tony Hinchcliffe funny or just the format of the show? Check out the Redbar analysis of the Kill Tony documentary (think it's called "Road Kill"). Hincliffe seems like such a weasel in his own documentary that if he had final say on the edit (which presumably he must have as he apparently paid for it himself) then he must have zero self awareness of what people find insufferable about other human beings.
He seemed to truly believe that Netflix didn't pick up his show because the format was too confusing for people to understand in a sentence. The format is "professional comedians make fun of amateur comedians" and that's coming up with a sentence with no thought. If you find the format funny then there's a short lived show with Ron Bennington called something like comedy 101 and that did the same thing but had funny comedians on like Kurt Metzger. I've only listened to a couple of Kill Tony episodes and they didn't make me laugh but I could have listened to shows that weren't that good so I'm not going to trash it based on the very little I've heard. I think I've heard enough of Tony Hinchcliffe to not find him funny though
@@radiusone216 there’s nothing funny about Tony except when he’s wrapped up in industrial strength plastic wrap letting people pee on him. Aside from that, he does have the occasional strong roast one liner - but how far can that go?
The show could easily be hosted by anyone else and still “work” - the only really strong part of it was the first band and the whole Comedy Store vibe.
Now they’re at some sixth street shithole in Austin with a rent-a-neo-soul band.
I still watch the show in the way that people watch sports, but I’m not really into the team at all anymore.

I'm lmao'ing because I feel like this show is almost identical to the way I would do a UA-cam show-- just tearing down everything, especially The Comedy Store's "paid regulars."
A part of me loves The Store because its management has usually been quite warm and open to me, but the people who they pass there are generally talentless. I hate most of them.
I lived just a couple of blocks away from The Store ten years ago when rent wasn't ten billion dollars due to socialism, and the manager at the time allowed me to watch everything for free, so I saw so many comics who were "raised" there just eating a d1ck buffet at midnight. Now the backstabbing frauds tear that manager to pieces on their podcast even though he gave so much stage time to them. His name was Tommy Morris, and he was actually a good guy.
