This is one of the best farming videos I've ever seen! The part at 12:30 really stood out to me. If you want to learn more, we have some great content you might like. 🌱
Great planting team. Almost every farmer here in East Central Louisiana have 3pt. Mounted and stackfold planters. Most of the crops here are planted on raised beds.
The mounted planters are definitely easier to maneuver. Don't have the ability to hold a lot of seed though. Plus's and minu's with everything. Great video Mike.
Thanks mike for this awesome corn planting video. I would love to know how many acres of corn they planted there.that is one big field of corn. Again mike thank you for all your videos this year Want to wish you and your family very merry Christmas and a happy new year.
Mike how come they plant end rows or headlands first and then drive on them turning around while they’re planting? Seems that would create unwanted compaction? It seems that I remember when doing tillage, you do your long passes and then go around the field to the exit so that you’re not creating any compassion. I am not a experienced farmer, just very interested since my grandfather was a farmer, and I used to do a lot of tractor work for him.
Working ground true but planting most guys plant the ends so they know where to pick up and set down the planters. With GPS technology I'm sure you could set field boundaries and accurately plant the end rows last. Now you may have noticed they are setting the planter down in the already planted end rows but most new planters won't start dropping seed until it hits the field in the right spot. (auto row shut off)
@farmhandmike that's correct. The ability to plant endrows last with gps precision is fairly new to the monitors and not many use it because no one trusts it yet lol. Skips are ugly
Stackfold planters are great for smaller fields with tight turns😁👍 thanks for the video👍👍

The drone shots of both tractors planting and meeting in the middle (16:05) were awesome! 🚜✨ That teamwork gets fields done in no time.
Oh yeah a warm weather throw back video 👍👍🌽🌽

Nice video Mikeless
I really like how consistent you've been when it comes to posting good videos
Thanks, Mike. The sink rate on the tractor with the tank made it look like the tracks were still, and the tractor was gliding across the field.

Awesome stuff, again,
Great 8RX planting. Where are they planting today 😁?
😆😆😆😆
If I was a betting man I'd say in the machinery shed.
Sheffield, Illinois Greg!
@@farmhandmike just needed to get that question out of the way so no one else would ask 🥶🤣
They may need to put a snow plow on the tractor haha 😆
8RX + planter has got to be one of the most beautiful modern pieces of machinery.
I like Mike less video on UA-cam from the imperial county ca 🇺🇲🎄🎄🎄

Wow
This John Deere planter looks a bit like the tractor has a Backpack on its back.... 🧐🤔😁🤣👍
Great 8 rx on planting corn 🌽🌽🌽and planting good a new vidéo 👍👍
Small question When did you film, not now in December, reassure me
This was from last May
Mike, Merry Christmas. Do you know why they do so much tillage? I know they need weed control but dirt looks like powder.
I wonder if they see a different in the corn between the kinze and John Deere planter. I know our kinze never did as good of a job as our John Deere.
Awesome planting team! Did I miss, how fast are they planting?
About 10 mph
@@sew1194 That's impressive!
👍👍👍👍
How many acres an hour are they planting at?
Not sure on that, hopefully someone from this farm see's the comment and can answer.
