A valid addition to the history of this facility would be to advertise for anyone who ever visited it when it was operational. I was taken there as a part of a Brownie Girl Scout troop in the mid-60’s to sing Christmas carols to a group of elderly women. All I’ll say is, children should never have been walked through the building and I will never forget what I saw.
Not all of the debris was buried. Slates from the roof were used to repair the roof at 317 E. Lincoln Ave. in Goshen after a fire in 1982, and the cupola was salvaged and placed on the barn at 21708 S.R. 119.
Great Video !!!!!!

What did you see?!
Probably very frightening to a young girl or anyone for that matter not knowing what to expect.
What did you see? I’m very interested in this place as I wasn’t alive when it was around, but if it’s traumatic I don’t want to pry.
I remember it well
What were the conditions like there? Anyone who’s ever lived here at one point in their life who can testify?

Also, it was built 1886-1887, not 1880.
