- In this video, we revisit Redhill 85 Food Centre to do a massive (close to 8kg) carrot cake challenge! Really pushed for this one, each plate weights in at around 350 to 400 grams.
Hands down one of the best fried carrot cake I've eaten though. Most probably due to the fact that they steam their own radish cake, it gives it an incredibly soft texture - which also made it a lot easier to eat which is really helpful in my scenario. I personally prefer the black version.
I would recommend this place due to the soft and smooth texture of their home made kueh and also they're extremely generous when it comes to portion size as well.

This amount of carrot cake is INSANE !!! It’s not only the enormous task of digging in 8 kg of food, the after taste of the cake gets heavier after every plate and that’s 20 plates going down his throat. Man … this is MAD & u gotta give it to him with huge respect. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

@@ZermattNeo confirmed won’t support them after witnessing the male owner making sarcastic remarks at a lady who ordered 4 plates of $2.50 each for her three kids. Just because the lady asked him how big the serving is for $2.50 plate, cos she’s worried her kids won’t be full.

Finally you are eating at probably my fav food of all time (CTK is not my fav food but thanks to this stall it is ). If only I could join you but can only maybe take down 4 plates 😅 have been patronising since a kid and they used to open till past midnight but changed hours during covid. Uncle is also pretty heavy handed in oil auntie puts lesser haha

My favorite stall is Ang Mo Kio carrot cake at Whampoa morning market, closed on Wednesday. Try it to taste the difference. It's really very addictive

I have friends my age(51 years old) who are hawkers for 20-30 years. Is the money good? Yes! Is it hard work? Super hard. Long hours and no social life? Yeap. If you think his proportion is not enough, then add $$$. Seriously, how much can you eat? Hawkers costs also went up last few years. Uncle gives me the normal portion as per other regulars. Every plate counts for hawkers.
Whatever it is, it’s still cheaper and more worth than going to some fancy restaurants or atas food court lar. I am in F&B line and I know the good, the bad and the ugly. Seen it all and I will still support good hawker food.

I loved those fried carrot cake texture really soft n melt inside the mouth....miss those Kampong ah ma ah gong days fried carrot cake. I haven't tried this stall...n been looking for the "ah ma de wei dao" carrot cake.
This stall is more for night time. There's 3 carrot cake stalls at Redhill market if l rmb correctly. l usually get from the one next to the famous fried chicken wing and beehoon stall. The other stall is the one with bean sprouts.

Bro, that much carrot cake before I did my stomach operation I can down 10-12plates for white but black at most 8-10 plates before feeling disgusting coz too oily. I now 1 plate also able to finish ...I used to go there to fetch mum after she is done with work some 10yrs ago.
