@@HeroesBosses I truly mean it, that is without a doubt one of the most incredible paint jobs I've ever seen. If I had only a fraction of your talent, I'd be one happy person. 👍
I used a hobby knife and pushed it under the feet to cut away at some of the glue, then I wiggled him until he snapped free. The glue is pretty brittle - if you wedge a knife under the feet sometimes it just pops right off.
Would it not have been eaiser to paint the armor metalic and then hit it with a weak glaze of green ink? The fact you already zenothal'd the mini would have make it already shade it properly no?
beautiful work. i'm thinking of painting mine as well. What is the best and safest way to remove it from its base? i've try just wedging a knife beneath its feet, but with no result... any tip?
If you have a box cutter and can wedge it under and just wiggle the model back and forth - it sometimes takes a little work and patience. I wish I knew an easier way :) Any substance that dissolves crazy glue usually also liquefies plastic, so that's no good. (Like nail polish remover).
Total paint time was around 15 hours, spread over a couple weeks - though painting under a camera means a lot of stopping to adjust focus, pause filming etc - so it could have been done faster.
Love these videos - watching your technique is so instructive! Was there a particular reason the chained man's face didn't get more detail? Were you concerned it might pull focus from the rest of the mini?
That was part of the reason, yes. Though I did consider making his eyes glow green as well. Most of it was time related - I already sank a lot into Crono :)
Heroes & Bosses I can imagine! It looks great! One of the things I’m impressed by in these videos is the way you mix multiple paints on the palette in order to get a range. I’m not there yet in my own painting, but seeing it done here gives me a little more confidence to try it out.
@@CumulusKnight Yeah - it took me a while to start doing that too. I always felt like I had to have all the colors pre-mixed and follow highlighting steps - like the ones laid out by GW - but after a while you get the knack for it.
Heroes & Bosses You’re inspiring me to try things out, so thanks for these videos. Been watching for a while (started with the Goblin Archers from Massive Darkness) and the quality of everything is only going up! Do you have a specific model you’re really looking forward to painting (for the channel or just for yourself) upcoming?
@@CumulusKnight Right now I'm painting a ton of Adeptus Mechanicus miniatures - including 2 Kastelan Robots which are a lot of fun. I also have Tainted Grail and Bloodborne on the way :) How about you?

Almost missed the video. Nice again👍
Very well made video, keep up the awesome work!
Thanks Scott!
It is a great guide for a really big mini. I will give him a shot early next year!
Right on! Have fun with it :)
I don't think I would have the patients for a paint like that with all the edges and little nicks
This one did take a long time, but it was fun :)
Almost 6k lest go

@@johnharvath5278 Well I really appreciate that! It's always cool to hear that someone likes your work :)
Sup man, really cool video, love your technique and color shceme, just a little question if I may, how did you dismount Crono from it's base?

I find that metallic paints are very opaque - so it masks the zenithal effect. Though if you used non-metallic colors that would certainly work!

This one was part of a Kickstarter, so I don't know if you can still buy it:
