Do people realize how legendary Michelle Yeoh and Tony Leung are?
Sadly most of the kids here don't. But I am glad they are finally getting introduced with these legends.
@@stupidhigharts4223 it’s not the fact that they are kids, it’s the fact they’re not from hk or china
This is a movie with Morgan Freeman as a bus driver with no lines. Of course the co-stars are going to be legendary.
@@jacobdejongh9042 michelle yeo is from malaysia...
@@zs2563 aight, i was talking about tony leung but i think u get my point none the less
The actress playing Shang-Chi's mother is a walking piece of art
She’s a legit badass. Look up her movies from the ‘90s.
@@HKim0072
Whaaa? I think you meant the actress playing Shang-Chi's aunt, the great Michelle Yeoh
.
I think Alucard was talking about Fala, super pretty
Fala is absolutely beautiful , I love her for many years
Fala Chen! I had a crush on her since the 90s. Absolutely beautiful.
Every time I hear Michelle Yeoh speak, I get actual chills. It's like listening to an ancient empress speaking Idk how else to describe it
Agree!!!!
Well she was an empress on star trek discoveries
People forget that legendary martial artist Yuen Wah was also in this film. His character trained Akwafina's character in archery. He was part of Bruce Lee's stunt team. Many will remember Yuen Wah as the Tai Chi master in Kung Fu Hustle.
Jen: i was upset that his soul was taken. I like him so much in the movie. I liked all his lines. In my heart he is alive together with tony
How you forget Brad Allan, a student/partner of Jackie Chan?!
I love the scenes where Shangchi and his parents touch heads. It feels extremely intimate and you really get a sense of their family connection.
It’s a very Asiany feel. Like a lot of Asian parents don’t know how to express their love so it’s a nice little representation
I have never seen a single Chinese family do shit like that.
@@fuwingpang5445 So you just spend time with every Chinese family huh?
@@popeyeschicken3535 tbf, I’m Chinese and I’ve never done that with my parents lmao
@@JK-xn4mj same here lol but I guess it’s the same energy as bringing fruit? Like showing without saying but also not acknowledging lol
Tony Leung was the actor who got me into the movie. Incredible acting. Even in the short embarrassing moments that require some quick emotional transitions and are a little pointless, which are in every Marvel movie, he played his part in a way that would not be artificial to the audience with just his facial expressions.
Without a doubt, the star of the movie is Tony Leung. Respects
As someone who grew up bilingual in both English and Mandarin Chinese language, the way they switched casually between languages was so refreshing. At some points I actually forgot which language they were speaking😅
I was actually really impressed by that. I'm so used to characters having deep conversations in English when it only makes sense to speak in their native tongue at that moment.
I'm proud saying here in Brazil , everyone watching the movie with subtitle in portuguese ( some times has wrong translation) and i was the only one felling badass understanding all of those conversation in mandarim lol ( brings back memories when qing yong 金庸 mades awesome series). And also im proud seeing mandarim (language) beeing recognize across the world of entertainment and not just for business stuff.
SAME THE MOVIE WAS SO FLAWLESSLY BILLINGUAL AND I APPRECIATE THAT SO MUCH
Me too!!! And I love how they added LEGIT chinese mythology creatures + all the martial arts (bad experience with Mulan).
I KNOW RIGHT and on top of that their chinese is actually good, as in they can actually speak the language. i’ve watched tooo many hollywood films that throw in a few chinese phrases and act like they have mastered a whole language for no reason at all (besides the fact that just because they’re filming in china) and force the foreign actors to speak chinese when us chinese speakers can obviously tell that THEY CANNOT SPEAK THE DAMN LANGUAGE like why???
like they didn’t force awkafina to speak it, just make her say she’s not good at it, see, it’s not that difficult right???
I get goosebumps just by hearing tony leung's voice. his power
when he said “burn it down” damn so gangsterrrrr
Tony Leung was the MVP for me, his gravitas and presence made me dislike him at the start and by the end of the movie I nearly shed a tear when he got sucked.
*SPOILER ALERT*
I agree 1000% I like literally cried when he died actually. His acting and facial expressions just really made me feel what his character was feeling. Crazy. Seriously the mvp, the secret weapon
DUDE! You need to put a spoiler alert😭
Hard boiled, Infernal Affairs, Bullet in the Head, Tokyo Raiders, Chungking Express, Lust Caution, Golden Years, Happy Together, People's Hero, The Longest Nite, Confession of Pain, The Grandmaster, 2046...you can see them !
@@jamesli2353 Lust Caution is the first and only other thing I've ever seen him in.
Omg me too!
I was more interested in Tony Leung’s character than Shang Chi. They should make a movie about him, Tony playing the character of course.
Agree
Yeah, China kind of put a big VETO on that.
@@roverdover4449Could you elaborate?
I agree maybe like his backstory of his 1,000 year of living
Tony's acting really good
loved the movie but TONY LEUNG! he really made the movie EPIC!, we need more TONY LEUNG interviews !!! let the man express himself in canto. he is so eloquent!!

FACTS!!!
Legendary actors with legendary fight choreography led by former members of Jackie Chan's old stunt team. Was just an amazing experience for me as a Chinese American. It may not have fully hit me yet but seeing a majority Asian cast for a franchise like Marvel is truly something unbelievable
Yeah it's just too bad they didn't interview or talk about Brad Allan! rip
Hope they make a movie or a show with Tony's character. He's so badass
I hope people start to realise that Tony Leung is huge in Hong Kong. The two biggest actors by far in hk are Tony Leung and Andy Lau and they both have some banging movies so it’s worth searching their names on Netflix :)
Not just HK. He is an asian Icon.
Do you have any recommendations? Never heard of him before, but I found myself really liking him in this film, I’d definitely be interested to check out more things he’s done. Definitely a stand out.
@@alexman378 I recommend you the Infernal Affairs trillogy! It's amazing
@@alexman378 He started out doing TVB serials . His first TV series was Police Cadet'85.
Who is a filmography nerd knows well Tony Leung and Wong Kar Wai and also the avant garde cinema etc. In the mood for love is huge in western countries but niche of the genre. I watched Shang Chi just because of the cast because normally do not watch Marvels.
The bus sequence is possibly the best MCU action scene ever so far!
Just saw this movie yesterday and will see it again tomorrow! It's seriously a great movie and the action/fighting scenes are incredible. It makes me so proud seeing Asian playing the leading role among other talented Asian actors in a Marvel film. What makes the movie even more special is that, Simu and I share the same last name, same age and same home town.
Loved the movie!
Here here!
No one cares about race dude
it is an awesome movie about to watch in the 3rd time and this time I am bringing my gf Mom with us :-)
@@DanielMRonindan I’m debating to watch 3rd time too!
So happy so see Tony Leung, Fala Chen and Michelle Yeoh in this movie. They're all well-know and popular Hk actor & actresses. So proud to them.
Spider-Man is by far my favorite super hero and I enjoyed this movie way more than the last two Spider-Man films. I think I even like it a bit more than Suicide Squad because of all the fantasy elements. I felt bad for Shang Chi’s father even tho he was the “villain”, for sure he will be remembered as one of the best villains up there with Vulture and Thanos. He was complex, not just the typical bad guy. The action was amazing, not surprising considering the fact that the cinematographer also worked in the original Spider-Man trilogy, The Matrix and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
Overall I have to say I’m presently surprised and I’d rank it up there with the best MCU films of the last few years.
I feel the same about his father. It was sad to see him manipulated, and completely in the dark about it. He was mourning til the very end.
The two Spiderman movies were good but the issue is we haven’t gotten an iconic villain in Green Goblin or doctor octopus yet.
The last two Spider-Man films were trash wth are you talking about?
@@richlor92 well no way home will give u what u ask for
this movie reminded so much of spider-man ngl
Tony Leung puts in 200 percent effort in every thing he has done. Truly a master at work.
okay, please give the director an award! the whole team was just baddass! and thanks for bringing in these legends : Tony Leung & Michelle Yeoh. I'm blessed!
I felt bad for his dad. He lost the love of his life & just wanted her back. Of course he shouldn't of acted the way he did towards his children
RIP Brad Allan. The film was terrific; thank you for your dedication and hard work.
Mutha. Fooken. Tony. Leung. 👌🏻
My two legends in a film together after so many years Michelle Yeoh & Tony Leung. Just finished watching this film tonight and it’s exactly how I imagined it would be. Loved every moment of the film.
I'm so glad Simu was able to receive this role! It's such a breakthrough in entertainment having Shang Chi in the MCU. This film was absolutely amazing! Thank you to the cast for working so amazingly on this film. The cast is filled with such great actors and actresses so I'm glad we got to see it.
this movie really made me even more proud of myself being a Chinese kid
That is great. Always be proud of yourself snd your heritage
I'm not Chinese but even I was proud
I thought u're a Japanese kid?
Simu Was 'So RIGHT' for this PART!!! To Me...What Makes Him A 'SuperHero'..is His 'Down to Earth' Humbleness! Continued Success To Simu!....Shang Chi 2...3...4.. Of course! Cheers..A Proud Canadian 'HomeBuoy'!!
This movie does indeed transcend beyond its beautiful culture! I'm Mexican and I watched this movie three times! I watched it last Friday, Saturday and Sunday! Every time it got better and better!! It was about time that the Asian community deserved their MCU superhero! (:
This was one of the best Marvel movies I have ever seen. I would put it up there with the top 3 Marvel movies against the Avenger movies - even if Shang-Chi doesn't contain all the Marvel characters. Fight scenes were incredibly beautiful. It's a very emotional movie too, I had tears in my eyes from some scenes.
Afterall, I wish Tony's character will be there in the next sequence. He is so good, very remarkable after all.
When she said "every Marvel Superhero has their own story'" and showed a few clip of iconic suit stuff...man I got chill, when you relized we come to this far and thats become the legend in their generation
EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS MOVIE WAS PERFECTION.
I have one slight disappointment: not enough shirtless Simu Liu.
Admittedly, that’s probably more a matter of my thirst than the movie’s quality.
@@ursaminor9780 get help.
Perfection? You don't watch a lot of movies, do you? There's even 10-15 MCU movies alone that are objectively better made. The storyline was ultra basic, the action set pieces got worse as the movie went along, the flashback structure had bad pacing and the CGI was god awful in places. I expected worse, it was an okay film and I didn't regret seeing it once in the cinema, but get real, this is so far from what perfect should be... Watch some Tony Leung films he made with Wong Kar-Wai if you want real impact and emotion and watch some real martial arts films from back in the day if you want impressive action. This is just bubblegum...
@@ThisIsTheRoad 🤷🏼♀️ it’s my opinion 🤷🏼♀️
@@Genjgar Sure it is. Cause it's definitely not a fact.
Tony and Fala fight scene.... Just, WOW!
I do not know Fala Chen before this movie. I like Fala Chen - Shang-Chi's mom actress. She is so graceful and elegant! Hope to see her more in upcoming movies!
AS AN ASIAN AND A MALAYSIAN YALL I COULDNT EXPRESS HOW PROUD I AM RIGHT NOW 😩😩 Our very own Michelle Yeoh and Ronny 😭😭😭
And the spikeface 😂
Tony Leung has an "Asian Al Pacino/De Niro vibe" here, he's just appeared on screen and you immediately pay attention to him it's crazy
Well he is, I think in Asia, his status is as legendary as you can get
This is the first time I heard Tony speaks English. I love his voice!!!!!!
thank you! the movie did SO WELL in terms of Asian representation, not just the face, but the culture and small details. The scene when Shang was explaining how he changed his name to Shawn, and Katy not understanding whats the point, it was soo relatable as many immigrants had to pick an English name because (some) Americans just can't pronounce non-English name, and would make fun of you in school for it
tony leung's movie series the heavenly sword and dragon sabre was my family's favorite series when I was a kid watching it together makes me remember those good times. in bahasa we called it "pedang pembunuh naga" what a legend 😍
Gosh the cast is a chef’s kiss 💔
Once again I am convinced that Marvel finds the most suitable and best gems, actors 🤍
Dad was ASIAN BOSS LEVEL.
Man I've never heard Tony's English. He sounds fucking badass, and then you get Simu facing him with his boyish voice hahaha
This film has such a great cast, from the masters to the child actors
Seeing his mom dad fight, gave me that Chinese drama vibes...
Tony speaking in English in this movie was a revelation far greater than I ever expected. I fell in love all over again !
Simu doing all those hard stunts by himself is so cool. Shang-Chi is like the combination of all of our wildest imaginations. Loved the movie, it's a 5 star movie for me!
One of the best Origin movies
Bro this movie is next level. This has already been my most watch marvel movie in theaters. Could be my favorite marvel movie period. However I’m not ready to make that decision yet but holy shit do I love this movie.
The humor, the fight scenes, the story is everything. It was an exciting movie to watch.
0:28 this scene is just a masterpiece and legendary!!
This is seriously a great movie my jaw dropped so many times watching this for the first time today I absolutely loved it
It was.... BEAUTIFUL!
I would like to see Shang Chi teach Spider-Man "The way of the Spider" Kung fu style in the MCU, it would be AWESOME
I walked in the theater not knowing what to expect and boyyyy am I glad I choose this Movie! Masterpiece from start to finish! Loved this! Sorry might me inappropriate but Tony Leung is DADDYYYY 😍🥵
With this man playing the Mandarin, they really missed out on Tony Stark vs The Mandarin.
After infinity war & ragnarok !! Shang chii is my fav movie 🔥 really different story , cgi level , fighting is epic 🔥 can't wait !! Shang chii & iron fist together in mcu
Long haired war-lord era tony leung sitting in that chair made me swoon :>
I loved every character on this movie. Marvel just keeps getting better!
Saw it last weekend, so wanna see it again this weekend
Can I just commend the director. He said any good idea from anyone is on the table and I think it really shows in how the movie turned out :)
This movie exceeds my expectation!!!! One of the best Marvel movies.
Watched the movie... Got impressed🤩🤩... Great work. Wanna see him with the other avengers
Marvel never stops to thrill us. Master mind behind the master piece.
Best movie ever 😍😍
This movie is sooooooooooo great!!!! So much surprises!! So well done
Avatar the last airbender on netflix have a huge stuff to fill...some action is just like air bending...
Yes I agree and I LOVE avatar the last airbender
Fun facts:
One of the main martial art in the Shang Chi movie was tai chi , and it was also how waterbenders fight in the Avatar cartoon series. As for the Wing Chun the other material art which they mentioned in this clip, can also be seen in Toph’s earth bending battles .
Aviator looks more like cartoons and video games,
it'd be so cool if someone makes an edit of shang chi characters bending elements
Netflix adaptations suck ass so dont hold your breath
People don't talk about Meng er Zhang's character enough, like the first second she showed up I was blown away by her charisma. I gotta say other than the bus scene, the fight in the arena between Shang and his sister was the best one in the entire movie
I love her in the film. She did really well in her scenes, and I'm glad she would reprised her role in other MCU projects
This was such an amazing movie the dragon 🐉 was Breathtaking!
This movie could just have been a movie about the love story of the father trying to bring back his love of his life .
Saw this 3 times and counting!!!!!! Amazing!!!!
best marvel movie so far
7:33 i think i just fell in love

Simu Liu is awesome from playing Shang-Chi 😎🔥
Goshbump the movie looks intense and exciting 😍 marvel always do a great prdocuts
Growing up my favourite film was Mulan because I could relate to the character and I never really saw any Asian representation growing up in many films. I’m so happy to actually see Asian actors actually get the recognition they deserve, because they’re amazing!
