interesting and helpful quote I made of note of from this video - the 'golden rule' about making marks and things, keeping light on light and dark on dark, to keep the painting from becoming too busy. I havce never heard of this golden rule but am going to include it in my tool box of art making!
Love to see how you have fun, on the way to establishing your pattern/design. Fearless and controlled at just the right time?! Thank you Judy for another clear tutorial.
Hi Judy, im experimenting with mark making thanks to being inspired by watching you work on the surfaces of your art. Is there somewhere on your website with a link to your tools that we can purchase somewhere in NZ.? The tool that makes straight lines and the tool that smears paint around are the 2 I'm needing. They definitely make the creative process more fun and exciting. Also the art journal is alot bigger than my small spiral A4. 300gsm. I would love a larger journal without a spiral binding. Any help on this front would be great. And lastly, do you use any liquitex mixers to make your acrylic inks go further or just dilute or use as is? Answers to my many questions would be most helpful. Really enjoying watching the process of adding and taking away and colour blocking and colour combinations. Have already attempted my own stencil making and love it. I haven't got a website for my art but my Facebook is available for you to check out if you have some free time. Jo massey
My sketchbook is A4 Crescent Rendr Bleedproof Sketchbook 180g 21 x 28cm bought from Gordon Harris. Colour Shapers also bought from Gordon Harris. Straight Edge tool bought from Bunnings?? or try a paint shop - Resene?? I don't use liquitex mixers.
