I mean I kind of get the idea, two characters you can ignore on the same team makes it kind of hard to decide which one to go for first, but at the same time you can still just target SSC The problem with Undyne early on is that it's not a threat at phase 1 most of the times: low damage, only 6 moves. So most of the time Undyne can't really deal significant damage as to force the opponents to hit her back, and has limited resources to support her teammates. By the time you finally die and get to phase 2, your teammate is either at their last phase or nearly dead, and it also depends if your teammate stays close to you so that you don't run out of stamina and get separated from them Not saying Undyne is unusable, just too situational to have a constant performance. It depends if the opponent has the lack of knowledge as to kill you early on, or if you are fighting against a GTC or frisk as you would be dealing significant damage
Not entirely, I guess you could say that as an Undyne your main goal is to walk into high damage attacks to phase faster, but that depends on where your teammate is at and if they know how to work with Undyne As an Undyne, specially in phase 1, it's somewhat hard to get back to your teammate quickly if you get separated, and if you spend too much stamina running after the opponent to try and aid your teammate, getting knockbacked will keep you away for longer than since you need more time to get up, leaving you away from your teammate and good damage sources to phase faster Now there are some cases where leaving Undyne be is terrible, but it's not something that happens very often. Undyne does have an easier way dealing with 2v1s, but it's still not something worth counting on. Ironically, teaming in here is actually broken
