Your videos are better than every therapy session money can buy. Seeing you creating each and every piece up to perfection brings me inner peace. Your videos are the gold standard in editing and presentation. Simply stunning every single time. Thank you so much for letting us participate in your creations.
I gotta level with you, I barely know what you're building half of the time but these videos are so well made that I always watch them. Its like "Ahh some type of gear. That's rad."
Some professional casters could take a few tips from Chris. Everything came out cleanly and the sprues were all bubble free. I think that Chris has been watching Olfoundryman for his tips on the pouring basin and sprue. Mark from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺
I have none of the tools you use Chris. (maybe the files) But as soon as you publish a video, I have to watch is. I'll even move my lunch up to just watch. Thanks for your work.
Quick tip for getting ends flush when fabricating a ring. Roughly file the ends to shape and bring them together, then make a pass through the join with a saw. That’ll ensure the ends but together perfectly for a good solder joint.
for mortals this would work fine, but for Clickspring it would not achieve the mirror finish that must be on all surfaces of all parts. You should see him make a cheese sandwich, from genetically modifying the calf embryo right through to lapping the cheese to such a high polish he needs to make tiny little (polished) pickle screws to stop the slice from just sliding off the bread. It is truly something to behold.
That casting part was neat. So carefully and skilfully done. I can see you've gained a lot of experience there. No sand particles falling into the mould, no hesitation, good planning and equipment.... awesome Chris
This gentleman’s work….its just genuinely outstanding. Makes me wanna move there and buy him a beer…I guess I will do Patreon instead….and express sincerely thanks Chris.❤
The cotter pin "is a stylized representation of a horse head". Of course! That makes it perfect for filing using your stitching pony. (I'll be here all week, folks.)
Nothing satisfies quite like turning HDPE or ABS… But I need some of the CA glue you guys have down there, I have never seen it adhere to ethylene like that before. And thank you for always being such a kind and encouraging teacher. I watch your videos first and then listen to them repeatedly through headphones just to review the concepts you cover. In addition to the high quality production, your videos are so rich with useful information. Thank you again, sir!
Your work over the past several years has inspired me to try constructing my own Antikythera Mechanism (at double scale). There are so many small details i would not have seen without your incredible guidance.
Not sure why but I always forget about hand filing as a legit option for one off soft metal pieces. Beautiful work, captivatingly told as always - thanks Chris!
Very bold of you to assume that a meathead such as I would ever be building along at home, bless your heart. 🙂 For me, and I suspect for more than a few others, your videos are not, nor will they ever be, instructionals but, rather, the closest available thing to porn of which my wife would approve my solo viewing. Thank you for continuing to produce some of the most beautifully created vids on the web. Your machining and hand forming skills are pure joy to observe and only enhanced by the unparalleled level of production. I have to believe that the amount of time you spend planning, filming, editing and narrating these videos far outstrips the time spent in doing the actual work of producing these beautiful objets d’art. If it is ever decided to hold an equivalent of the Academy Awards of Merit for UA-cam, I suspect that not only would you be nominated, but that you would walk away with a majority of the statues.
I am really enjoying watching this again after seeing the patrion series what seems like long ago. Such beautiful work, from raw stock to YT masterpieces! Thank you Chris 💯
And now Myfordboy and Clickspring on the same channel; in the same video 😂. Always a treat Chris, great videos, worthy of any national television I can think of!
Ok I am considering getting into casting, and I am looking for an excuse, but man you make it look so easy. Like not a drop spilled, beautifully crafted risers etc. But that's why I love this channel :D. You make it look like 3D printing or something. Tho I guess it is the old 3D printing aye? We're just soft in 2024 haha.
As always, Chris, you amaze me with your knowledge and skills. I saw your name mentioned on a Greek paper regarding the Antikythera luna mechanism, very interesting..
That was a wonderful video style and your machining and casting where nicely commented it reminded me of some of the better arts and crafts videos made me feel relaxed and interested
Chris, have you thought about a foot switch for the scroll saw? It could be set up as a click on/click off or as a deadman switch. This way, when you finish your cut, you can maintain control over the parts with both hands qhile the saw stops.
Chris-what are the differences between silver solder and soft solder? 11:19 I’ve soldered electronics, data, and audio cables on and off sine the 1980s, but don’t really understand these terms at all as it applies to mechanical brass joining, and have not heard of soft solder outside of your channel. Wikipedia doesn’t have any info that answers my questions. Oh, and I’m a Yank from California!
Dammit Chris you are stopping me from getting any work done with your amazing videos BTW how is the other project going? Haven't seen an update on it in ages.
I really do enjoy your flashing transitions that show what an object will look like after being worked. It's always my favorite effect in your videos.
I love it
Yes he has been doing that for years, its awesome!
One of his signature style of editing
The effects reminds me of 90s adventure video games like Myst.
This, plus the radioactive screeching noise...
Every time Clickspring uploads is a good day
Everyday Clickspring doesn’t upload the withdrawal symptoms flare just a wee bit harder.
Thanks for detailing the alternate of casting so completely.
Clickspring and Cutting Edge Engineering are the best!
And such opposites in work scale, but similar is enthusiasm and skill. Nice juxtaposition.
Indeed.
Indeed. Both Qldlanders unfortunately. But at least we won the SOO.

Wow, that has to be one of the cleanest casting I've ever seen!
Some professional casters could take a few tips from Chris.

17:50 this bit here is the single most satisfying thing I've ever seen...
The transitions from drills to reamer is on point as well. Notice how his tool is always perfectly on centre height, no little tit left when facing.
I have none of the tools you use Chris. (maybe the files)
But as soon as you publish a video, I have to watch is.
I'll even move my lunch up to just watch.

For smaller items or finer joints, double-sided abrasive can work well also

Just kidding about the screws, he wrings the sandwich components together like gauge blocks.

Words just aren’t enough! Beautiful work, as always. Les in UK 🇬🇧
This gentleman’s work….its just genuinely outstanding. Makes me wanna move there and buy him a beer…I guess I will do Patreon instead….and express sincerely thanks Chris.❤
I love your videos
With that said giving it a light polish and it being a perfect mirror finish afterwards is just impressive
Exhibit #157 that Chris is the most patient man in the world. Beautiful work like always!
The cotter pin "is a stylized representation of a horse head". Of course! That makes it perfect for filing using your stitching pony.

I'm a simple man, I see a Clickspring video, I click like
Like a clickspring?

I may never be able to afford the shop equipment to do any of this, but it's sure relaxing to watch it anyway.
Chris, this is probably one of the top 3 episodes I've seen so far. Thanks.
“So you can choose which best suits you” lol. Mate. I’ve just cut a skirting board 4 inches too long and stood in a tin of paint
Your work over the past several years has inspired me to try constructing my own Antikythera Mechanism (at double scale). There are so many small details i would not have seen without your incredible guidance.
The work itself, the videography, explanations and music are Absolutely, as usual, most excellent indeed Chris. Thank you Go well Sir
13:54 Chris been machining for so long that he himself has turned into a machine
Not sure why but I always forget about hand filing as a legit option for one off soft metal pieces. Beautiful work, captivatingly told as always - thanks Chris!
I can believe you cast a bowl after fabricating one, just to show us how its done. In any case it was top notch viewing.
Fantastic as always Chris…thanks for your generosity in allowing us to follow along via UA-cam!!

I never thought I would get as much pleasure watching somebody filing as I do with your work :)

love the no wrong way approach , it the end result that counts
I can't touch this man's mind. Genius level.
Beautiful work as always but really Chris, you didn't have to make that part twice... we were all amazed by the first one!
That casting turned out so beautiful
Excellent video production, and really flawless crafting. Well done.
Just fantastic work Chris! The built bowl looks like the cast version and both look great. Thanks for sharing this tutorial.
2:08 What a great tip! Thank you, Chris.
Best series on UA-cam
Clickspring never ceases to amaze. Excellent!
I love the horse shaped cotter pin! such a small but elegant detail
Always a quality enjoyable and enticing production. Your passion is most inspiring, even for an old machinist/tool maker with an artist background. 👍😁

Your works are so f beautiful, what a privilege to have this quality of content.
Respect ❤
That was a nice clean brass casting. I'm thinking that old scrap brass tapware is a lot cheaper than brand new brass sheetstock too.
Regards,
Mark
Hey Preso! Those taps didn't look terribly old to me! 😅
Hey Chris, that 🐴 is just screaming for some stylised light engraving 😜
Easily my favorite UA-cam channel
As always, Chris, you amaze me with your knowledge and skills.
I saw your name mentioned on a Greek paper regarding the Antikythera luna mechanism, very interesting..
Thanks
Cheers :)
you are the greatest of all time. cant wait till next episode.
That was a wonderful video style and your machining and casting where nicely commented it reminded me of some of the better arts and crafts videos made me feel relaxed and interested
Chris, just wow, amazing video. Thanks, helps a lot!
I see a new Clickspring video….I click! 😂
Probably the silver solder method is more feasible for most home machinists. Nice work on both methods, you did.
Next level making Chris.
Key information about the collet closure. Thank you kindly.
Nice to see you back 👍🏻
Thanks Chris!
It's amazing that the final piece is cast ♥️
Thank you so much for posting. Awesome work.👍
11:40 Always remember to pickle your parts after soldering!
A good bit or work for a sundial. Good thing my Timex is still working !
Thank you for another fantastic video.
Simon.
So beautiful. Thanks again.
Your skills are absolutely amazing. Always very enjoyable.
Amazing video as always, thanks for sharing.
U'r a freaking beast with it!
Brilliant work
Meticulous Work! Bravo!
Everyday Clickspring doesn’t upload the withdrawal symptoms flare just a wee bit harder.
i ❤ click sping , g'day from Texas usa 🇺🇸
Fantastic to watch. Thank you!
Outstanding, as ever. Thanks for sharing.
Clickspring shows up, I click.
Edit: I'm certain that if you said "Park the car in Harvard Yard" you'd sound like you were from Boston.
Thanks for a great video as always. As for HDPE- agree with you, but it is a pain to clean up afterwards.
Wow... Chris has hands and even arms? I've been watching his videos for years, and just assumed that he was just a disembodied omnipotent brain.
Clickspring and Uri Tuchman releasing gear videos on the same day? 🙌
Love me a good casting video👍
Chris, have you thought about a foot switch for the scroll saw? It could be set up as a click on/click off or as a deadman switch. This way, when you finish your cut, you can maintain control over the parts with both hands qhile the saw stops.
As fantastic as always, Chris!
Great video I enjoyed it . Thanks Chris
Brilliant, as always!
By the by, if I'm ever encroached upon by aliens who force me to send one human being back in time, I'm coming for you.
LOL. Chris would indeed change the course of history for the better!
Beautiful work.
Of course the casting worked flawlessly! Haha!
Stunning
It’s a proper Clickspring video 😭
Космически крутой канал в котором всё идеально до совершенства. Спасибо.
Excellent as always.
A casting myfordboy would be proud of!
Hurrah! 🎉

Oh, and I’m a Yank from California!
incredible talent
A good student driven by a passion to develop a high level skill set. Maybe one day Chris will show his library collection. 😉
Комментарий в поддержку канала и ролика, а также труда мастера.
Excellent video!
What about all the shavings and scrap, do you also melt those down and reuse them?
Beautiful
Dammit Chris you are stopping me from getting any work done with your amazing videos
BTW how is the other project going?
Haven't seen an update on it in ages.
UNREAL❤❤
lovely, as usual :)
