Bill sort of promises a shorter video 'than that 50 minute thing the other day' - 'Thirty minutes tops' he says.
Trolls us with a 49 minute and 55 second movie here.. . . . And we are the winner! Thanks Bill, from a Chipper Canadian.

I could knock back some cold ones with this guy.
Grandfather bought a 78? Cordoba new, white/white reeeeal corrinthian leather!
Drove from the airport in Tx to his alfalfa ranch in Alamagordo NM. Car rode SO nice, ice cold R12 AC never forget it.

I had an 82 Doba that looked very similar to this one, though mine was loaded, and of course had the "rich Corinthian" leather! I loved that car! I drove it to 195K miles. I am addicted to your videos! I am amazed at your ability to make even mundane items seem interesting by relating their history. I was, like you, just a kid when a lot of these cars came out and never looked twice at them at the time, but your description and presentation of them make them seem appealing to me. Thanks to you, I now understand why they were built and why people bought them. When you are young you want fast and sexy looking cars to pick up fast and sexy girls, later you want sensible and reliable sedans to commute back and forth to work and move the family around, but at a certain point in life you want soft comfortable luxury two door coupes to take you to the country club or cigar store. P.S. Whatever your are paid to make theses videos is not enough. I cannot imagine most of these cars could be sold at a decent price without your salesmanship. Keep up the good work!

I had a 1975 Cordoba. Given to me indirectly by my grandmother, with the 400 Lean Burn set up and a smog exemption. My grandmother bought the car new and lived out in the middle nowhere Iowa where leaded gas was still the norm, so no catalytic converter was ever installed, straight from the factory. It was great. Rode like a marshmallow. She was so proud of it. She was 55-56 and it was the first brand new car she had ever bought. Great memories of her and showing up at our house with Grandpa in the passenger seat, not allowed to drive it. Suddenly, Grandma was the super cool, hip mature woman.
She passed it down when she bought a 1986 Buick Park Avenue Electra. She loved that car too, but her Cordoba was special to her and it was important to her for it to be maintained, it barely had 50,000 miles when she passed in 1993.

My dad was a loyal Chrysler buyer and purchased a new 1976 Cordoba. It was dark green with a sunroof and a green leather interior. It looked sharp, but it was leaking oil on the driveway the night he brought it home. He immediately took it back the next morning and demanded his money back. They agreed to return it. He then bought a two door Buick LeSabre and stayed with Buick for several years. He never bought another Chrysler again.

I had a 76 Charger SE Daytona (a rebadged Cordoba) and an 82 Cordoba. The 82 was much better! The 76 was junk at 73k miles, I drove the 82 Cordoba to 195k miles and the engine and tranny were still going strong but components were breaking down (turn signal stalk, ignition switch, wipers, etc), which made it a bit tedious to drive. Plus, my new wife needed a car so I parted it out and bought an 88 Cougar. Hated that Cougar, it was thin, lightweight, and nowhere nearly as solid as the 82 Cordoba!

Thanks for uploading the long awaited Cordoba video. Your hilarious description on the origins of the "rich Corinthian leather" prompted me to look up Ricardo Montalban, after which, my UA-cam feed was inundated with retro Cordoba ads.
Fun fact, Sr Montalban got the Corboda pitchman job after doing some live theatre in the Detroit area at the time when Chrysler was getting ready to launch the car in the mid-70s. He claims that it was his iconic portrayal of the elegant Spaniard in the ads that really launched his TV and movie career into high gear.
Anyway, it is nice to remember the innocent days when marketing was limited to cars and other consumer goods, as opposed to the current age where hucksterism is used to hype climate catastrophe and mass injections.

I remember many very long rides from the back seat of this car when I was a kid around 8 or so like going to Canada from Massachusetts. The plastic new car smell always made me want to throw up. The car was metallic brown with tan interior. It had the slant 6. My dad had this car for ten years with hundreds of miles pulling 16' boats and long trips to Vermont, Maine, and New Hampshire. This car was also my first car handed down and it was a POS by that time. I Had many great times going to fun places like concerts, party's and amusement parks with friends, video camera fun on the road, and breaking down a lot. It was put though a lot of abuse like floods from hurricanes. My older brother stole it from me and forged my signature on the title. A year later I saw it in the junkyard that I went to frequently in the crushing lineup waiting to be crushed with 2 other cars on top. I could tell t was mine from the interior I actually waited around awhile to see it get crushed. I saw my childhood and teen years in that car that car disappear instantly with the last crunch. It was depressing to watch but hey. I had replaced the Cordoba with a 1968 red Pontiac Firebird. I was around 18.

As both a Canadian and an infant that rode in one almost identical to this one, I can confirm that I was quite chipper in the backseat/package tray of these cars. Although it was much more fun to sit in the middle of the bench seat and play with the radio

Before I never cared that much about the 80 thru 82 Cordoba preferring the 75 thru 79 Cordoba. I had a 77 Monte Carlo new for 18 years with the swivel buckets and rally wheels. Thanks to Bill I have changed my mind about the 80 thru 82 Cordoba and kind of like them.

I travelled often, most every week back then, and I always booked the Imperial or New Yorker vehicles as they were so excellent... my fav years were '89 through '93... such magnificent vehicles... it was always a good week with one, disappointing when not available for the week... This was an excellent automobile in every way...

Your one of the few voices of reason that I can listen to. I used to watch your videos on cars I was only interested in, now I watch every single one, even those awful German cars I dread fixing at work. Good thing we don’t see that many of them. I had a 62 Valiant Signet Coupe with the 225 and 'three on the tree' manual shift that was my used car purchase for college in 1969. Fire engine red and dorky as hell but I LOVED the car and kept it showroom. The 225 was one of the best engines Chrysler made. Very punchy and good milage and zero mechanical issues. I'm surprised they offered it in this model and had no idea they offered it for so many years but it makes sense. It was reliable.

Actually pleased to see this review. I was one of the few to ever buy an '81 Dodge Mirada CMX new! Mine was a match for the brochure cover - Nightwatch blue, white faux convertible top, blue high top bucket seats, turbine wheel covers, 318 cid. I really did love that car. I bought it when I took my '77 Diplomat 2dr coupe to the dealer for service. I left that day with the Mirada. That was the only car I ever owned that people would stop me and want to look at it. My only issue with it was the gearing was so long, the only way I could tow my 16' boat was to leave it in 2d, unless I was going downhill.
I guess I am a bit surprised that I never had any issues with the rubber/plastic end caps. I still have the greatest memories about that car. Thanks for the reminder!

This is a great video! The commentary is always entertaining and I love this Cordoba. Part of Chrysler's sales problems at that time was their dealer network. I actually went to purchase the sister car to this (Dodge Mirada) in 1980, and the dealer wouldn't even let me test drive it. He thought I was too young and just wanted a joyride. Said I could test drive an Aspen. Well, I wasn't in the market for the Aspen, so I ended up crossing the street and buying a Silver Anniversary Thunderbird (please hold the disparaging comments) that I absolutely loved. I actually have another one now. Anyway, I also really appreciate the crank windows in the Cordoba. I've had quite a few collectible cars and the biggest issue I have had is failing power windows. For me, manual windows would be a sales feature!
