    I started by watching your videos before i go for my license, don't want to lie the instructor didn't believe that it was my first time to be physically operating the tlb. Your videos are very helpful. Thank you a lot 🙏. New operator here,South Africa, Port Elizabeth.

      How can a machine operate without any power source at all?"

    I just love your videos. They are always thorough and informative, without any stuttering or pretentiousness. No ego at all in the way. I really appreciate that and admire that, and will do what I can to be sure I communicate with others in the same way.

    I work as a trainer at a large nonprofit. We respond to disasters with saws, semis and heavy equipment. I love what I get to do and although I've taken our team through excavator, tele handler and skid steer courses, this will be the first time that most of them will be on a back hoe. I'm from California ranch country and grew up using back hoes but again, most of our team have never been on one. We're going to help a church that was donated a piece of property with a very old warehouse/shop on it. Our job will be to demo the building and load it into dump trucks. We'll have our skid steer, tele handler and a back hoe. I'm going to use most of this longer video to get our guys introduced to this very different machine. Thanks for your clear concise videos.

    After you have checked things to the point that you have it running, instead of trying to look underneath for leaks, Make a boot mark at some reference point on the tractor. Like center of front wheel. Drive it forward 20ft or so to get it clear from the previous location. You can tell if you have any major leaks or minor leaks by looking for oils on the ground from the previous location. You smell the oil to know if its diesel or hydraulic fluid and/or etc. You can pinpoint the leaks location by referencing the boot mark you made compared to the location of the leak. May sound complicated, but it's very simple.

    For pre-op check, make sure no cylinders are bent, and make sure your radiator isn’t plugged with dust and dirt.

      bent cylinder? Can't say I've ever seen that...but yes, guess keep an eye out for all of those.

      @@HeavyMetalLearning I’ve never seen it either, but I’ve heard about it. More so with subcompact and utility tractors. but it can’t hurt to keep an eye open.

    do you have a video of how to load equipment onto a truck. ive seen a lot. but some seem crazy methods of loading. one video showed a backhoe getting on a truck with no ramp. the bucket was placed on the truck. the stabilizers lowered for hight and then the. boom was used to puch it further on to the truck.

    • @HeavyMetalLearning
      @HeavyMetalLearning  3 роки тому

      Nothing on the larger equipment, but we do have a video on our channel for loading/unloading skid steer and mini-ex. I’ll see if we can do it with some larger equipment.

    Backhoes are more about feel than visual in my experience. That makes them tricky to operate.

    I'm attempting to dig a trench about 3' deep down a steep grade 2.5 - 3.1 for 250' Water, gas and power are to be trenched in. I have a JD 710K with a 40" bucket. Oh and it's a bit rocky... I'm looking for a video of how to accomplish it. Any suggestions from anyone welcome.

    I hate these wishy washy top heavy bastards. As some guys know these patterns are ass backwards compared to a tracked excavator. I knew a guy that could switch back and forth without missing a beat, he didn’t stutter on a 4 stick either👍🏻

      I admit that I don't understand why those backhoes are built like they are, but you should get to try a Lännen/Huddig/Hydrema/JCB 4CX. Turns on a dime, fast, powerful and versatile. Dig, lift, move and plow 👍🏼💪🏼...

    Pushing down on the front axle by lifting the boom when taking material is not good cause you need all wheel drive to use the power. What you do in this case is taking weight of the rear and lower traction. In my opinion backhoes are just for very small operations where you don't need a lot of power. Or what I call them. Useless piece of chunk
