10 years later and a million bumblebees figures on, somebody on the design team finally said "Hey Steve, ya know if we put a hinge or two on the roof and windshield we might be able to tuck that stuff into the body...instead of just leaving it hanging off the back of the figure." Impressive.
Scott Bergman they took the move from mp inferno. This & trypticon tho. pretty good 4 Hasbro. I'm shocked they didnt hollow out the back of his head & nut sac to save 2 cents per fig.
I really like the older movie designs where you could tell "this piece on the bot is this piece from the vehicle" With some of the newer ones, it's really hard to tell that they are supposed to turn into a vehicle when looking at them in robot mode.
his light pipe actually works very well if you have some natural light coming from the behind his head, no need for super bright led, neon or any of that stuff.
Bobby Skullface L yeah well the problem being that the light regardless of the type, has to be at an angle that's not straight down on his head. Still I feel like his light pipe works better than some of the figures that I own. Anyway I saw wotafa's review on another mpm3 that has a slightly different yellow and eyes color, that mpm3 eyes somehow work without any lights from the back but it's much much less of a blue color, almost like a pale green.
I hope everyone has there affairs in order and said goodbye to there loved ones etc. this is clearly the end of times, a movie figure reviewed AND recommend........ forgive me lord for I have sinned.....
Hey i know you're not into lightpiping but you should check out those eyes under the light, they actually painted the inner white circles to make it look movie accurate, i think it's pretty neat that they go this far. Always a fan of your reviews, keep it up!!
yea i agree when light is shining perfectly on the light pipping it looks good, but more often than not, it isnt. thats where my main beef with that approach lies
hey Bobby another great unbiased review just wanted to let u know I built these cameros in GM Oshawa in the body shop they are a great car I like the idea that something I build got turned into a transformer the movie itself could use some work (yes I'm Canadian and I'm being polite) but a reinvigorated franchise can only help us fans hopefully thanks for your honest reviews keep them going good or bad don't stop please
Interesting. That vehicle mode, though... it's absosmurfinlutely SCREAMING for some black trim like the 2009 or 2010 Camaro ZL1. It wouldn't be movie accurate anymore, but it just would look *SO MUCH BETTER*!!! (I did that with my HftD Battle Blade Bumblebee...love how it looks. And it's kinda badass in robot mode, too. Finally...that cannon sucks.
Even though the movie designs are not to my liking, one has to give to give the designer/s credit were credit is due; turning a pretty darn accurate Camero into a robot that looks like it was sent through a blender first is really incredible. Considering how panel heavy Sunstreaker is looking, it cant be denied that Hasbro's effort is no less impressive engineering wise.
Hey Skullface, could you do a few videos summarizing what you've currently got on display on your shelves? Not in depth reviews but, say for example, I'd just really like to know what first-party and third-party companies make up your IDW Lost Light crew, IDW Wreckers and IDW Decpticon Justice Division, Comboners (and any add-on packs as well!). Thanks bud, appreciate it! Keep ,the great reviews. Hope you do some more comic book reviews. Curious about your take on the first 10 issues of Till All Are One and Lost Light comics.
Bobby Skullface L Good to hear! And I hope you talk about comics more on your Saturday chats. I'm sorry if you've covered comics on your podcast but I don't have a lot of opportunities to watch/listen to podcasts.
Great review Skull Brother!!! I think he's pretty cool and I'll definitely pick him up. But the one thing that really annoys me and you nailed it is those damn lifeless eyes. Now if only they would make my dream figure. Me Amigo Squeeks LOL...
I sense some restraint in your voice :) Time to go to Shattercast for a raw review. Never wanted a reboot so badly before. Looking forward to tigertracks matching up to MP39
Hopefully this really is Bays last Transformers movie! Maybe they will redesign them because these designs suck hard. Bumblebees face looks like Darth Vader with a ball gag.
OMG This is the Best thing Hasbro has done in years. If Every movie figure is like this and and every new hasbro toy is like this I will buy it this figure is amazing. IMO I like the movie designs but, hate the movies. I prefer this Bumblebee over the weakling in G1 design wise.
yea idk, i remember when the first bay movie images started hitting and a buddy said "look at bee, he looks bad ass" and my reply was "but that might be a problem, because he shouldnt be one."
There are some days where you are just too nit-picky over essentially trivial things. This video is one of them. But the world still turns, life goes on. It's all good. We can agree to disagree. And we're all still friends. Not a perfect toy/collector's piece, but still awesome in my book. :) Hope you had a good 4th of July. Stay cool Mr. Skullface. Keep up the good work.
i guess its all subjective after taking into account all the issues. I love the movie designs and this looks amazing to me, but i understand that someone who isnt a fan of those designs wont be into it. Great review bobby
Huh. I find odd they went with the Red and white autobot logo for his head, Pretty sure its Silver in the movie. I don't mind alot of the movie designs, there's some I really love. I really hope they decide to retool this into the Old camero he had in the first movie, then I would be 100% on board.
I agree on their designs. You could tell what's what on the first movie robots, and as movies go it wasn't that bad. It fell off after 1. Kinda strange they went with the first movie Bee, but I expect to see each tiny variation released as it's own MP now.
Bobby Skullface L - Hey Bobby, what's the best way to touch base with you and the guys at SCU? Been a fan for awhile, keep up that good work at the cool table. I have a twist on the SCU pod cast about wives keeping you're collection around, but what about divorce and your collection? Can you say marital assets! Trust me on this one. Would love to share more if you guys want to discuss.
awesome man, facebook is the BEST way, on the SCU page and bobby skullface page, 2nd best way would be via email which you should be able to find on any video on either channel
Nice job Bobby. I would like more paint on the thighs. Love the lower ratchets and transformation. The fold up window / roof is great. Along with locking wheel / feet. But the price is pretty high for Hasbro. I'll wait for a sale. Or just Bee happy with my Human Alliance and Battle Hornet...
I was wondering about the eyes, and I think light piping is a very strange choice. The body looks so dark but it's hard to tell if that's even accurate or not because they really are mobile junkyards lol. Easily the best movie bee aside from a statue.
I'm usually up for MP or Bayverse figures like this. But this, I'm not too sure on, looks good, I'll give it that, but I'll have to put this in the 'maybe pick up' category, for me.
I've always loved the bayformer aesthetic. of course they look like a dull mess, have you *seen* the underside of a car? And the complexity of the ROTF was actually what drew me in
Too much hate on these designs. TF in general as a brand has had so many iterations of the same characters with far more ugly results. That said, I'm not into a lot of them myself, but not for them being cool bots. Optimus has faired very well throughout as has Bee. Hound? Love. That latest Megatron, I'm over the moon for. So anyhoo--this guy? Yeah, I'll be getting him soon enough. Great review, dude!
I'm in the same boat, I think the movieverse designs are fine and actually like those take on TFs (except that BS lazyass lego style transformation in TF4). To be more precise, I prefer the original design on the bots as they actually look like bots with alt modes rather than the new bots where you know bay is just messing with the toy designers. But Bay being the director? hell no. oh hell no. The absolutely horrid story writing, blatant stereotype/racism/sexism is just sickening.
It's more G1 accurate yellow than the G1 Masterpiece Bumblebee is. LOL I have honestly never been a fan of the movie Transformers (Bayformers), but I suppose you have to try and give all the fandom something. I mean, I never thought we'd see MP Beast Wars figures.
Okay so not everyone likes the Bayformers. I'll admit not all of them are good, especially ever since Hasbro decreased the size and complexity of the transformations starting with The Dark of the Moon line. my personal favorite is the ROTF leader class Optimus. This Bumblebee definitely looks like something I'll pick up. Thanks for the always honest review.
My fucking God. This comment section is just atrocious. A full decade and people still aren't over these movies. I'll admit, TLK wasn't that good, even to a person like myself who's very lenient when it comes to basically everything. The movie designs are just fine. (Well, the earlier ones, at least. The later ones just don't look like they transform into jack.) Come on people, just get over it already. You can have your opinion, but it gets pretty tiring after 10 years of hearing it.
i want to buy this figure but i know there will be like 2 or 3 repaints on it later so i can wait it out for a black deco for now. Also, why do u still holding on to the corpse u made out of TFC Detective? Thought you would had thrown the pieces in a fire pit by now lol
Most of the comments here are talking about bad the Bay movies are. I found them just okay. For me, I like Bumblebee's design and the mp toy does it the justice.
I like to think I'm an open minded fella, you know I'll give everything a fair chance and.......wait, whats that........ARRRRRRRRGGGHHH bayformer, kill it, kill it with fire!
I liked some of the RotF figures. I actually own over half of those but that is as far as I have gone with all five of the Bayformers in regards to figures. The Last Knight line is absolutely garbage and I believe they are literally stealing people's money. With that said .... This is the only review I need to see for this first Masterpiece movie bot and I have added it my list of buys. So that says something. They did a nice job.
They did do a very good job of bringing the movie bot to the masterpiece line. It looks every bit like it was in the movie... however... kill it before it gets a chance to breed!
Yes it's more realistic but bay just through the ball out of the court and another 20 miles with their complexity and honestly they're that complex but the cgi needs to cheat.... now that's just sad. at the very most they should only be as complicated as sworder. And as for having room for an interior how about theres just a bright light from the inside and then the robot mode parts just disappear from the inside and it's hollow? We all science is complicated it's possible u ass so don't go wining that's impossible because there's honestly a metric crap ton we don't understand
I can tell you a reason...price. This is not 120 bucks worth of toy. Maybe the Canadian Leader price of 60. A second, and brother am I hard on MP toys, but this isn't tens across the board and for something calling itself Masterpiece, it should be. This is good, but just not good enough. I'm surprised you took it as easy as you did on this dude. Here I was expecting a bashfest lol.
No Bayformers for me. I can't put anything from those movies to remind me how good it could have been. Maybe a Hottoys Megan Fox or Rosie Huntington on my shelf. But not those insecticars. Those are more Gobots than transformers. After the second movie, that's what I called them. The Gobot movie. I refuse to see them as Autobots or Decepticons. I'm still waiting for Netflix to show the last one. I refuse to give them a Dollar. A big F U Michael Bay.
Off topic but did you see the Xtransbots MP Style Stunticon at $39.00???? Ohh man hopefully we get a Saturday Roundtable for MP Menasor. Need to know the producers producer take! Saturation is full board. I must say though some vids have come out on Transformmission MotorMaster and I feel like its all coming together well for this combiner.
Personally, I think the Bayformers movies are the biggest load of crap to ever be produced! I hated the designs of the bots and I was so freakin' disappointed when I walked out of the theatre after the first movie. I honestly feel like one of my childhood favorite franchises were publicly raped! But its sort of like a car crash, if you know what I meen... You want to look away from the carnage, but you sort of want to see what the hell just happened too, and I sort of feel the same with this toyline. I've watched plenty of reviews on both this one and the Prime figure, and though I don't want to waste a bunch of money on something that ALOT of people have had issues with, I still am curious about this movie MP line. I have the movie leader ROTF Prime figure, but I sort of want to "upgrade", but when I see a alt mode that doesn't want to peg together, and the fact that its compatible with the MP-10 trailer, but NOT the UFO weapon rack/trailer, that is more accurate by the way... I don't know, dude... Do I really need yet another toyline to get involved with at this stage? I wonder if it would be better to just wait and see if Has/Tak decides to do a second release with fixed issues? I meen... This looks like the best movie representation of Bumblebee, and the Prime figure in both mode looks pretty awesome too! But... ITS FREAKIN' BAYFORMERS!!! They look like a big magnet thats been attracting scrap metals! You could walk through a junkyard and "see" these Bayformers characters in a heap of crushed cars. And on top of this, some reviewer said that the leader ROTF Prime costs abou half of what the MP movie Prime does, is it really worth it? I'll stick with the G1 masterpiece figures no matter what, but these movie MP's??? Too many flaws have been pointed out in my opinion. And not to mention that I've started to drink beers on a more regular basis as well, and beer ain't cheap, dude! Man, I'll wait and see what your opinion is on the movie MP Prime figure and see if your review sample is any better than what I've seen so far. Maybe! Just freakin' maybe you can convince me to jump on this line, but untill then, I'll spen my money on beer instead! Thanks for reading and all that stuff, and I'll catch you on the next one!
10 years later and a million bumblebees figures on, somebody on the design team finally said "Hey Steve, ya know if we put a hinge or two on the roof and windshield we might be able to tuck that stuff into the body...instead of just leaving it hanging off the back of the figure." Impressive.

The_Doctors_Tardis that's why I like kibble, it shows that things turn into other things, not just random robots haha
interesting perspective
his light pipe actually works very well if you have some natural light coming from the behind his head, no need for super bright led, neon or any of that stuff.
lol right, so for all those that display their stuff on window sills theyre in luck ;)
Holy crap! Ben just ripped this figure while Bobby praised it! Wow....
lol how the tables have turned
MPM-3 Camaro Bumblebee is picture-perfect and does not need a remold.
"There is and it is stupid" - I always appreciate your honest opinions Bobby.
hahahahahah
I hope everyone has there affairs in order and said goodbye to there loved ones etc. this is clearly the end of times, a movie figure reviewed AND recommend........ forgive me lord for I have sinned.....
hahahahahahaha, i was a little disappointed that objectively its pretty good
Bobby Skullface L I don't really care about this line, but I think it would be pretty funny if they tried to do AOE prime in this line.
Hey i know you're not into lightpiping but you should check out those eyes under the light, they actually painted the inner white circles to make it look movie accurate, i think it's pretty neat that they go this far. Always a fan of your reviews, keep it up!!

thats awesome man, i can totally understan d the connection
awesime review man I've been seeing alky of reviews of this figure and I'll probably get it!
enjoy!
huh..I think I'm early...also this figure calms my ocd cuz it finally did the wheel feet properly
thats true
Admitted this did have me intrigued, and I'm looking forward what will come next
me too
Interesting. That vehicle mode, though... it's absosmurfinlutely SCREAMING for some black trim like the 2009 or 2010 Camaro ZL1. Invasion of the body snatchers! Uncle skullface is a POD PERSON🙊
ahahahahaha
now all we need is bay movie arcee masterpiece! - crickets -
lol

Hey Skullface, could you do a few videos summarizing what you've currently got on display on your shelves? i should be having another "cribs" video coming this year
Bobby Skullface L Good to hear!
Me Amigo Squeeks LOL...
lol, i hope you get all the squeeks your heart desires ;)
I sense some restraint in your voice :) Time to go to Shattercast for a raw review. Never wanted a reboot so badly before. Looking forward to tigertracks matching up to MP39
its because its a good figure of a design i loathe lol
Oh man, that Pile of Parts figure is my second favorite movie bot, he closely trails Regurgitated Pile of Parts, a little known variant from Malaysia.
hahahahhahah
Hopefully this really is Bays last Transformers movie! Maybe they will redesign them because these designs suck hard. Bumblebees face looks like Darth Vader with a ball gag.
Hell Pumpkin They're not gonna redesign the robots, and it's best they don't do so.
hahahhha i too pray for a reboot
Why, how many times has prime been redesigned? What about megaton/galvatron and back to megaton again with no explanation? I don't get your point.
OMG This is the Best thing Hasbro has done in years. If Every movie figure is like this and and every new hasbro toy is like this I will buy it this figure is amazing. IMO I like the movie designs but, hate the movies. I prefer this Bumblebee over the weakling in G1 design wise.

Great review, I agree I wish the shoulders clipped in, somehow. Does the doors angle up at all in robot mode?
Nathan Simmons yes, when you open the doors during transformation you could pull it out a bit and that would allow you to angle it up
thanls for the assist nosrep
There are some days where you are just too nit-picky over essentially trivial things. This video is one of them. But the world still turns, life goes on. It's all good. We can agree to disagree. And we're all still friends. Not a perfect toy/collector's piece, but still awesome in my book. :) Hope you had a good 4th of July. Stay cool Mr. Skullface. Keep up the good work.
thanks buddy, and nit picky is very subjective ;)
I know. And I respect it because you're awesome-sauce. Looking forward to more vids from you. Take care, man.
i guess its all subjective after taking into account all the issues. I love the movie designs and this looks amazing to me, but i understand that someone who isnt a fan of those designs wont be into it. Great review bobby
definitely, but objectively there are a few issues here as well, but good overall
Huh. I find odd they went with the Red and white autobot logo for his head, Pretty sure its Silver in the movie.
I don't mind alot of the movie designs, there's some I really love. I really hope they decide to retool this into the Old camero he had in the first movie, then I would be 100% on board.
i think i can honestly say i dont like one movie design. ravage might be the closest
Brawl is my jam, really most of the Movie 1 Decepticon were. Bonecrusher just wants a hug, a big, smashing, killing, hug.
Which bot was under Spider-Man?
the remnants of TFC detective
I agree on their designs. You could tell what's what on the first movie robots, and as movies go it wasn't that bad. It fell off after 1. Kinda strange they went with the first movie Bee, but I expect to see each tiny variation released as it's own MP now.
as long as it keeps making money
Straight up review as always, I agree with those eye…meh. They definitely could upgraded that head sculpt with the Gorira Helmet 🦍
no countrey for light pipping
Or just Bee happy with my Human Alliance and Battle Hornet...
i see what you did there
I was wondering about the eyes, and I think light piping is a very strange choice. The body looks so dark but it's hard to tell if that's even accurate or not because they really are mobile junkyards lol. Easily the best movie bee aside from a statue.
totally agree
I'm usually up for MP or Bayverse figures like this. But this, I'm not too sure on, looks good, I'll give it that, but I'll have to put this in the 'maybe pick up' category, for me.
copy that
I've always loved the bayformer aesthetic. of course they look like a dull mess, have you *seen* the underside of a car? And the complexity of the ROTF was actually what drew me in
ive seen many and think that 90% are cleaner than any baybot, but hey man, if you like it you win
Cool review
thanks
Great figure, Bobby will you be reviewing all the movie masterpieces when they come out?
i hope to but cant say for sure
I'll buy anything just love buying unique and interesting toys to stick on my shelves in my man cave if anything it's a great conversational piece.
agreed
But Bay being the director? hell no. oh hell no. The absolutely horrid story writing, blatant stereotype/racism/sexism is just sickening.
your second sentence i believe is the fundamental problem with this franchise
Too many ugly iterations or too many iterations in general?
If youre into that sort of thing. That guy on your desk im 90% sure is the bay hotrod.
lol no bay hotrod in this house lol
I think the MP Bee's need a color swap. MPM-03 is too yellow and MP-21 is too orange.
agreed
Fantastic man! Except for the dead doll or Shark attack eyes, I think it seems alright. Not my cup of tea either but I can see someone enjoying this.
exactly
Reluctant sell on a Camaro..........its "Uncle Bobby B baby!". R.I.P. Bernie Mac.
hahahaha missed opportunity on my end
hey somthing micheal bay didn't destroy
yet... yet
It's more G1 accurate yellow than the G1 Masterpiece Bumblebee is. LOL
I have honestly never been a fan of the movie Transformers (Bayformers), but I suppose you have to try and give all the fandom something. I mean, I never thought we'd see MP Beast Wars figures.
i agree on the yellows
Okay so not everyone likes the Bayformers. I'll admit not all of them are good, especially ever since Hasbro decreased the size and complexity of the transformations starting with The Dark of the Moon line. my personal favorite is the ROTF leader class Optimus. thanks for watching
love the masterpice series anywho what's ur favorite western
tombstone!

its like saying, "get over cancer" lol
Bobby Skullface L Bit of an extreme analogy, but come on. They're just movies. It's not gonna kill you.
i want to buy this figure but i know there will be like 2 or 3 repaints on it later so i can wait it out for a black deco for now.
Also, why do u still holding on to the corpse u made out of TFC Detective? Thought you would had thrown the pieces in a fire pit by now lol
Would've been cool if they included his pissing gimmick from the 1st most movie.
or would it lol
Just give me a MP movie ironhide and I'm set for life M8.
i'll cross my fingers for you
call me b0ss I rather an mp movie ratchet
Thats my favourite Bayformer too!! I think his name was Shitpiece, pretty sure it was.
lol
My wallet hopes they make more Beast Wars and movie MP's :D
lol me too
Most of the comments here are talking about bad the Bay movies are. I found them just okay. For me, I like Bumblebee's design and the mp toy does it the justice.
you'll be happy with this then for sure
Bobby Skullface L Too bad I'm dirt poor.
Looks more like an alternator than masterpiece to me.
i hear you, maybe better proportioned than an alternator?
I imagine the phrase "I don't f*#king care" was on the tip of your tongue through most of the review.
hahahahahah could have been
I like to think I'm an open minded fella, you know I'll give everything a fair chance and.......wait, whats that........ARRRRRRRRGGGHHH bayformer, kill it, kill it with fire!
hahahahah
I'll get the kerosene and roman candles.
Great review per usual.....However, not for me either.
thanks man
I liked some of the RotF figures. They did a nice job.
agreed
They did do a very good job of bringing the movie bot to the masterpiece line. It looks every bit like it was in the movie... however... kill it before it gets a chance to breed!
hahahahahahah
This comment section is SOOO PETTY!!! Do understand that these designs add to the realism of the look in the movies! C'mon guys
i think they disagree, as do i. relax ;)
Bobby Skullface L You don't think those G1 designs would make that realism factor? Do you?
Yes it's more realistic but bay just through the ball out of the court and another 20 miles with their complexity and honestly they're that complex but the cgi needs to cheat.... now that's just sad. at the very most they should only be as complicated as sworder. And as for having room for an interior how about theres just a bright light from the inside and then the robot mode parts just disappear from the inside and it's hollow? We all science is complicated it's possible u ass so don't go wining that's impossible because there's honestly a metric crap ton we don't understand
Definitely!!! But g1 did the same thing! So how do you propose the problem is fixed???
I hate the movie designs more than almost any other robot design ever. Still giving you a thumbs up !
hahahahah i hear you and im in the same boat honestly, and thank you :)
Lifeless...just like the storytelling in the actual films ;)
well done
I can tell you a reason...price. This is not 120 bucks worth of toy. Maybe the Canadian Leader price of 60. A second, and brother am I hard on MP toys, but this isn't tens across the board and for something calling itself Masterpiece, it should be. This is good, but just not good enough. I'm surprised you took it as easy as you did on this dude. Here I was expecting a bashfest lol.
lol yea it honestly doesnt deserve a bashfest. i wish it did, but its on par with most MP's these days... including the hefty price tag
Bobby Skullface L some days, I live to be surprised lol, maybe the next shock will be Hasbro making good distribution business decisions lol
A big F U Michael Bay.
i wonder how they would sculpt fox's thumbs

Off topic but did you see the Xtransbots MP Style Stunticon at $39.00???? Ohh man hopefully we get a Saturday Roundtable for MP Menasor. Need to know the producers producer take! Saturation is full board. I must say though some vids have come out on Transformmission MotorMaster and I feel like its all coming together well for this combiner.
good toy shitty design great review mac
lol thank you
Personally, I think the Bayformers movies are the biggest load of crap to ever be produced! Thanks for reading and all that stuff, and I'll catch you on the next one!
hahahah brilliant
Bobby Skullface L - THIS Bumblebee LOOKS SHIT NOT WORTH THE MONEY : (
lol
