Good job guys on a tough night … I note the apprentice has shed his tie tonight so maybe Connor might think about putting it back on for game five … never mess with a winning streak 😎 Go JETS Go
haha thanks Bobby! we'll try to do our part
That was a hook all day long in the regular season. He got his stick up around the chest and turned the defensemen.
You all are incredibly optimistic. The Avs have been the better team in 5 put of 6 periods in the two games. We are making the Vezna winner look like an average at best goalie. Your only hope is Georgiev crapping the bed. The Avs lines are dominating in 5 on 5 throughout the lineup. Good luck in the rest of the series. Luck is what you'll need to win because skill sure as hell won't be enough for these Jets.
Av's have been the better team through two games. They have set the pace of the games and are the dominant team all over the ice. The Jets will need to flip things in their favor if they plan to win another game
thanks for the comment. the Jets have had stretches where they were taking it to the Avs, have to find that for more of the game though rather than a period.
Had the momentum and let it go. 37 needs to be better absolutely no question. The 2nd line has also been a total non factor. Ehlers needs to elevate his game and play better 4 goals in 34 career playoff games. It’s time!! Need to pressure MacKinnons line like crazy and make em work.
thanks for the comment. well said.
Good job with the review
jets gotta start playing a defensive minded game
use pur speed and checking
81 is looking good on the back check, 55 gotta do the same
go jetz!!
thanks for weighing in. hopefully they can find it on Friday night.
The output tonight wasn't enough if this is the blueprint going forward it'll be a short playoff run. Cycling the puck for half the PP looking for an open lane will never work. Make your success don't wait for it to present itself to you.
Open a lane up yourself with movement well timed shots. Greasy is the only goals you'll get in this series. Don't try to out finesse the AVS.
thank you for the comment
Totally correct. Trying to just play a shutdown style against a high scoring Avs team only works for so long. Jets need to throw their weight around and get in for some greasy goals. Geogiev still sucks, only difference is tge Avs put a wall around him last game. If Jets can penetrate the Avs defence, they will score.
Exactly. Stop this perimeter offence. At least with game one trading chances is a heck of a lot better than getting none.
I wonder if the blueprint in game one is actually the way to beat the Avs you have to play like the Avs running gun because if you don’t, they’re in your end and I’m worried that bones is gonna talk them all into this perimeter offence mostly defensive structure, which is just gonna leave them to get picked to death
Thanks for the recap guys! It was a great atmosphere in the building last night… until it wasn’t. Hope the guys can get it together and rebound for Friday.
I would agree with everything you said. Thanks for the comment.
Great Job Guys!!!
Thanks Dom, glad you enjoyed!
Another reminder why Hellebuyck needs to stay in his net. The guy is amazing between the pipes, but that is where it ends, he has never been good when under pressure playing the puck. Jets as a team can play even better, hopefully they bring it for game 3. Also, 2nd line needs to get going to help the team.
He's been great all year, we talked about it on last week's preview with Murat actually. Yup, they all need to step it up for Game 3.
@@SportsTalkWPG He's been better yes, but fact is it's never been a strong part to his game. I would even suggest he hasn't taken those chances nearly as much this year. It would be nice to see line 2 click, can't help but feel it's going to happen like pre-playoffs.
Hellebuyck is playing awful. 10 goals on him in 2 games. Put Brossoit in now.
I don't know if Bros would make a difference. Jets defence is throwing Helly to the wolves. The Jets are being outshot and the shots they are getting are perimeter shots. Jets need to throw their weight around and get guys in front of the net for greasy goals.
Nice recap!!!! Thanks so much for
thanks tom, glad you enjoyed! A few hiccups but we made it.
As long as you guys keep giving the Avs 30 to 40 shots per game GOD could be your goalie it won't matter
certainly need to tighten things up there. Avs had 32 in G2 after 46 in G1, maybe the downward trend will continue.
@@SportsTalkWPG doubtful
The 1:40 mark features a claim by Connor, a cohost of the Winnipeg Sports Talk segment following the Jets’ loss to the Avs, of an 8.50 p.m. Central Time puck drop. That was on an evening that had featured no Eastern Canadian team in action but no doubt a simultaneous broadcast of a Canucks’ home game.
The above said, going into that game, I had gotten used to viewing games that in the Eastern Time zone had started at or after 9 p.m. As I had from no earlier than last October been watching so many games played by any of the Western Canadian teams in the Mountain or Pacific Time zone. There was an era that had featured the Leafs in what would become the Western Conference, an era that would start at some point in the 1980s but end with a 1997-98 season, an era they had featured so many more games, at least relative to the number of total regular-season games, played outside the ET zone. Save for games the Leafs, Sens and Wings in November played in Stockholm during the NHL Global Series, no Eastern Conference NHL team after last preseason but before last weekend had played 17 or more games outside of the ET zone, and of those Eastern Conference teams, I believe, after last preseason but before last weekend, the Sens were the ONLY one with under 3 points earned in Western Conference arenas. There may not be a Western Conference team that over the same time span earned under 4 points in Eastern Conference arenas.
Crazy how you think that Makar might have tried to sell a call on the high stick. He’s the only player to waive off a penalty for his team because he slipped and wasn’t tripped earlier in the season.
We're up in the press box and initially it happened quickly. Upon the replay it was pretty obvious
Playoffs baby.
I heard many jets fans saying it was gonna be a sweep. The confidence you have without winning a cup is laughable. Maybe hellebuyck is a good goaltender in the regular season, because he doesn't have to face the same opponent consecutively. However, when he has to face the same opponent in the playoffs other teams figure him and your whole team out.
37 loses his magic in the playoffs over and over, why he insists on handling the puck is beyond logic, he is terrible. Sign LB, trade 37 this summer and get a haul.
37 kept them in it.
Toffoli needs to sit. Perfetti in
37 was great until he wasn't yesterday
37 has to let Laurent in the net and ehlers line has to be a lot better
So said they fell apart in the second. Jets made so many mistakes. They need to learn to do more puck pressure in their own end. They cannot let the avs setup. Game plan for avs is traffic in front and shoot. Unfortunately jets smaller dmen cannot clear the front of the net.
Avalanche took advantage of a few miscues, will be interesting to see how they respond in game 3.
Winnipeg fans, you shouldn't cheer for Georgie on the 1st save he makes. The hockey gods may look down on you doing that kinda stuff.
Reminds me of the time the Winnipeg fans chanted "Jordan's Better" at Eric Staal and he went on to score the game winning goal.
That Game sucked 😐
was great until after the scheifele goal
Connor Hellasucks gave up 10 goals at home.😂
Pull your goalie.
the numbers certainly aren't flattering after two games
@@SportsTalkWPG neither were those chants from the crowd...
Try to have a lil class, eh? 🤣
AVS are clearly better. They controlled game 1 as well.
definitely reason for concern for jets fans. still a series they can win.
@@SportsTalkWPG Last night’s game was the second straight to have featured, excluding empty-netters, at least four goals given up by the Jets. It sure didn’t help they once again they’d thrown defence under the bus. I strongly believe the Jets were lucky to win the first game that series despite having allowed six goals although I also strongly believe that unless allowing
. ****Go Jets In 5****
love the optimism!
I don't think we can blame this loss on any one person.
But if we could, it would be Remo for not giving us a playoff suit show.
haha thank you. at least we got to watch the entire game uninterrupted because it started after our kids went to bed... right?!
