Would you guys ever make a GK pickup for extended range guitars? I mean it would actually be great and I think more 7 and 8 string players are into these products more than 6 string players actually.
@@dxaminal777 The guys at graphtech already made 7 string peizo saddles, but the roland algorithm is not optimized for that, and there’s an alternative for that, but it’s not just worth it for an extra string. My main axe is a 7 string fr and with the ability to change tunings so easily in the sy 1000 this would have been so nice to have.
@@dxaminal777 of course bro, I think their pickups ate better, but just because they are saddle piezo pickups, so there’s no extra visible pickup making your guitar ugly. But you will have to drill a hole for the gk output though and it’s also a bit more expensive but it’s worth IMO. Check it out and see if you like them, unfortunately there aren’t enough reviews with good video quality for the pickups.
Can I get rid of my other multi-effects pedal (helix , GT-1000, whatever.) and use this for Amp/Cab Sims? I'm trying to cut down my rig as much as possible. If I can use this for amp/cab sims, synth, bass sim, without the need for an Iridium or Helix, I'm all in. (I'm already all in, who am I kidding...)
Oh god i want one SO BAD! thanks to my carvin dc400 and my bc rich mockingbird legacy ST im done buying guitars. Now i NEED one of these guys. So many mind blowing capabilities and its possibilities pretty much only limited to ones imagination. It almost seems to good to be true. Thank you BOSS! Luckily i have some gear to sell and when i do im buying this beautiful beast IMMEDIATELY!
I've owned this since it came out over a year ago. Got rid of it once due to some issues and then got another one back. It's staying with me this time. Also hopefully this means a good firmware is coming soon to fix the dynamic synth issue among a few other issues that needs to be addressed on the SY-1000 and maybe some new features!! I also hope in the future they can make a guitar synth with all the sy-1000 features but also combine PCM synthesis and add in FM synthesis as well and more fx blocks and more send/returns as well on the back among a few other things! Also wish the normal path could be swapped into an INST path. Sometimes we don't wanna use the NORMAL path so it's sitting there doing nothing.
Not sure if anyone gives a damn but if you're bored like me during the covid times then you can stream all of the new series on InstaFlixxer. Have been streaming with my gf during the lockdown =)
I believe it's the first time someone compared me with Jim Carrey! I like that! Yes, if you add the SY-1000 to your setup, It will bring your sound discoveries to the next level! ;)
Been begging and pleading Roland for an updated GK-3/GI-20 for a very long time. Amazing secret weapon/pup! Bulky, clunky, oversized cable, etc. Build it. We will come for it.
@@SefLemelinOfficial gi-10 and gi-20 basically lets you use any gk2 or gk3 pickup into it and then out into hardware synthesizers to control with your guitar or bass etc.. Basically what the guitar-to-midi function in sy-1000 does.
Thanks a lot! For sure, there's a lot of things to learn and experiment but I can tell you that I had such great times unfolding this crazy pedal! If you have some experience with creating sounds with synthesizers, it will help you a lot!
@@SefLemelinOfficial I use a GP 10 and really enjoy playing around with the synth tones. I have been wanting to get more into that kind of thing. So I have been looking into the GR-55 and SY 1000. Your video impressed me with what you can do with it. Very helpful. Thank you.
Boss really did little to market or provide tutorials for the SY-1000. It's a great, powerful device but it will be confusing and daunting for new owners unfamiliar with Roland/Boss guitar synthesizers. As usual, the documentation is minimal, basic and focused on functional explanations without examples where users are left to introspect and disect factory presets to figure out how things work. I recall a very good features / tutorial series on the SY-300 which I also own. What happened to Alex Hutchings? Very little in Boss Tone Central for SY-1000. If sales numbers are below expectations, it's due to Boss' failure to provide education, tutorials and in-depth demos. Great product, failed marketing.
Best SY-1000 demo sounds I've heard so far.

My thoughts exactly!!
Sssssseriously!🤘🤘

Thanks a lot, Fred! Keep me posted about it and feel free to ask me questions if you have any! ;)
I've owned the SY-1000 since last June of 2020 - he describes how deep it is very well - he could be a tutor on how to get the most out of the device!
Thank you so much, great to hear that it can help people to unfold new territories with this pedal!

Solid! I have the SY-1000 so I will certainly bookmark this
Good to hear! Thanks a lot, Mary! For how long you have the SY-1000? It's your first synth pedal?
Je viens de voir le post de Sef! MALADE! I want to buy now! :) It sounds amazing!
Merci Roland! Je suis persuadé que tu ne seras pas déçu! Est-ce que tu as déjà utilisé une synth pedal?
