Synopsis:
Baghban film is a tale of a of a family where the parents (Amitabh and Hema) sacrifice everything to nurture their four children, only to be left uncared for when they grow old.
Raj Malhotra and his wife Pooja have raised a family of four sons who are now nicely settled in their respective professions. Their life is filled with love and prosperity, and all this has been possible because Raj has invested all his income including his provident fund and gratuity who according to him are his assets that would secure his future. But when he retires, life suddenly changes.
None of the four sons is ready to take their parents responsibility. To the extent Raj and Pooja then depend on the kindness of strangers. How Raj Malhotra through strife and hardship overcomes this turmoil and comes up a winner is central crux of Baghban.

I shed tears the first time I watched this movie ,it's very educative and a must watch movie .
Such a good movie. Their own children refused to live with them in their old age, while an orphan, who has no blood relation with them, loves them a lot and made them feel proud when they were helpless, just because they helped him get good education when he was living in orphanage.
Lesson - Always do good to others, just for sake of humanity. Good deeds never go waste. ❤ And never depend on your children. Do savings for future..

I don’t care how many times some of these children of nowadays watch this movie or others. They will never be like our generation that loved, respects, cares for and listens to our parents even before they get older. Am a mother of two daughters and the only thing I didn’t give them is my life cause it’s not mine to give. But they don’t respect, care or love me. I was a single mother who had no physical, emotional, financial or moral support from anyone when they were babies and young. I came to America and brought them and when they got here refused for them to work any of these hard working jobs, I asked them to stay home, study and e good young women and if they get husbands then they should get married…….

Till 10 years of age, i used to be always sick. Every 2-3 months my parents had to take me to a doctor and i even had to be admitted in a hospital sometimes. I gave alot of pain for 10 years to my parents by making them sacrifice their comfort to take care of me. This movie makes me appreciate their efforts more.

As a father, I can tell you the behavior of these parents in the movie is completely irresponsible. No parent should rely on their kid to retire. Kids should be able to follow their own dreams while still maintaining a loving relationship with parents (which does not always mean living together).

I watched a interview few years ago where Salman said he cant watch this movie because he finds his acting cringe. But i loved him here. He along with all actors played their part well. A true Bollywood classic.

आज मेरी उम्र 30 साल की हैं लेकिन माँ बाप को देख नही पाया। उम्र के पांच साल में ही मैंने माँ बाप को खो दिया फिर अनाथालय मैं मेरी जिंदगी 15 साल गुजरी फिर मैं उधर से अलग हो गया आज मैं अकेले हूँ। यारों आज भी रोता हूँ कि मैंने कभी अपने माँ बाप का प्यार नही पाया
