As a habs fan, it kills me to see Price almost tears in the eyes
I'm a leafs fan. it kills me to see my team not make the second round EVERY YEAR BE GRATEFUL PLS
@@storm-vr478 You dont understand... Your Matthews, Marner and Nylander still have a lot of years to win the cup. For Carey, it seemed like it was his only real shot
@@gabrielmercier4180 I think he will get another shot at the cup but not in Montreal
@@rogersalles200 I'm not seeing him leaving Montréal, but maybe... We never know
It sucks goaltending for a team that can't score.
I can only imagine how this feels for the Montreal players, well done on an outstanding season. Being a Lightning fan, I know how it feels watching your team on the other side of this handshake, it's bitter and heartbreaking. But I think it made the team better, hungrier and stronger. Love this tradition.
It was Hot ok!!!
I like this kind of respect between different hockey team fans. Thank you, and yes, tampa deserves the cup the way, it still was a great run for us. GG.
I don’t know man, Tampa‘s been a loaded team for a while so it was only a matter of time before they start winning the cup, whereas this was Montreals one chance in my opinion to win the cup for price, Gallagher and Weber, I’m not sure if they’re gonna make a cup final again in years to come
Handshake line in hockey: a time honored tradition....
Happens in soccer & baseball sometimes. Never in NBA Basketball, rarely in NFL Football.
That’s what makes Hockey the best sport in the world.
In chess...if you dont accept the handshake of your opponent before the game, you forfeit the game.
@@hutterite1 woah. Cool fact. Thanks.
Only way to bypass that is, if there's a mutual agreement between both players to NOT offer a handshake. But that is extremely rare.
It's more common of a hockey player to skip the handshake line, than of chess players to not offer handshakes
Difference in culture
The day the NHL stops doing this is the day the sport dies.
Best tradition hands down
Price was incredible! He will always be the best goaltender I've ever seen. They may not have the Stanley cup, but they are still winners in so many way!

WOW Canadians did a Great Job .They played against the Top team , feel bad for them and us fans but I'm Dam proud of them 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
I hear you but on the other side as an American hockey fan I’m glad an American team won it.
@Transparent Aluminum oh yeah. Well many of those Canadian players prefer to play for USA based franchises - it’s less taxes and more money. Also if it wasn’t for the USA based franchises which comprise the majority of the NHL the worlds top league- the player salaries would not be so high as they are today and the NHL would not be as wealthy a league. Money is a huge motivator for players to seek a hockey career aside from love of the game. Most of the current NHl franchises ( perhaps 2/3rds) are based in the USA so it makes perfect sense based on the numbers for a USA based teams to win a cup. Your the goof!
@Transparent Aluminum Wow I apologize I misinterpreted your original comment. All I said is as an American hockey fan I’m glad an American Based team won the Cup again. I’m a proud American hockey fan. I have read articles that a lot of people in Canada were rooting for Montreal to win the series because they wanted a Canadian based team to win tye cup. All I was trying to express was there are many American hockey fans here in the USA that are happy a USA based team won the Cup. We want to keep the streak going. The last time a Canadian team won the Cup was in 1990 with the Oilers. That’s all. There’s a lot of Canadians that hate us Americans. I heard Canadian fans booing the American national anthem at the Canada Cup in 1990’s. That’s not the right thing to do. Fans shouldn’t boo a national anthem- show respect
@Transparent Aluminum you are correct I forgot about the Habs winning in 1993. Still it’s 28 years. The point I’m making is I see a lot of Canadian NHL hockey fans hating on the USA or hating USA based teams just because they are based in the USA. I find that offensive as an American hockey fan. That’s my point and perhaps I misinterpreted your original with posting all those Canadian flags. It’s the NHL not the Olympics who really cares about nationalities or countries. I’ve heard the United States Anthem booed in Canada.
@Transparent Aluminum yes American fans have booed the Canadian anthem and that’s not right. Actually Canada is a beautiful country- I love it. I am sorry I misinterpreted your comments as bashing or being Anti- USA. Clearly your not. I hope we can both enjoy hockey on both sides of the border.
As a longtime fan of Steven Stamkos, I worried that losing our older players in 2012-14 or so meant that we’d never make it this far, that he’d never get a chance to hoist that cup. Seeing him do it twice in a row makes me so happy.
I'm very happy of the season that the Habs gave us.... the buzz around our city was nothing but positive this past month.......

It was Weber and Price's last chance... maybe not for Price, but still... It hurts to see them being so close and then losing. The future is bright for the Habs. They can do it. This run already exceeded everyone's expectations.

Tampa deserved to win. But the fact the habs even made it this far is nuts.
What a difference a few weeks makes. Corey Perry now with Tampa Bay. David Savard now with the Habs. Phil Daneault with LA. Yanni Gourde is a Kraken, Tyler Johnson is a Blackhawk.
Don't forget Blake Coleman in Calgary!

These Canadian players need to start playing for their own country. The US is Rubbing our noses in it. And I don't blame them. We deserve it.
Been saying that for years and one big reason why I stopped following hockey. Another big one is teams in the deep south never seen a snowflake winning the CUP, thank you Bettman !
@@semiretired6033 only 1 Canadian team has won the Stanley Cup since Bettman took over. And he wasn't there for the full season in 93. I don't think that it's a coincidence. If a Canadian team wants to move to the States, Bettman will not object. But if someone wants to relocate an American team to Canada Bettman will do everything in his power to make sure that doesn't happen. And I honestly believe that he did everything in his power to block the relocation to Winnipeg. It's total bull sh*t Quebec doesn't have a team. They didn't move to Colorado because of an attendance issue. They wanted a new arena. But you look at Arizona. They wanted to originally move that team back to Winnipeg at Bettman did everything in his power to make sure that didn't happen. Hamilton, Quebec and a second Toronto team should be in NHL. But Bettman would sooner give Atlanta a 3rd shot at failure than to give anyone of those cities a fair shake. I am absolutely surprised that he hasn't tried to expand into Oklahoma, New Mexico and Utah.
@@jaybryant4752 sad!
I’m a Canadian but Canadian teams aren’t run well
@@jaybryant4752 I hear you but the reality the NHL would really lose fans and never gain new fans if there were more Canadian teams. The reason the NHL since 1967 expansion has grown is it’s growth in the USA. The USA has approximately ten times the population as Canada and by having more American teams means potentially more money for the players and staff. I’ve read that even Canadian born players prefer to play in the USA or USA based teams it’s less taxes and more salary. Think about even the original six era there were more American teams. Chicago Detroit New York Boston and just 2 Canadian cities Toronto and Montreal because USA is a bigger more capitalistic country. I contend the players salaries would not be as big today if the NHL only had Canadian cities. I would say the NHL players even Canadian ones are very much motivated by making big salaries.
