Welcome to another vlog! This one is a week in my life vlog. What a fun week it was to capture! I was so excited when the programming director of Bellingen Reader's and Writer's Festvial reached out to me and asked me to participate in the festival. I did four events total, interviewing authors, chatting about books and writing and even participating in a book quiz to close the festival 💀
Overall it was really fun. I really enjoyed the festival and I hope I get to do a lot more in the future. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy this writerly week in my life. Take care and thank you so much for being here 💛💛

Hi, Christy, I am 13 years old and just wanted to say that your videos are AMAZING! I love your coziness, vibes and book recs. You are such a good soul. There's always so much to do and you are such a escapisms. I hope full heartedly that your book - publishes well and fine. I am hoping to read it as soon as it publishes. :))!
100% agree with referring to a notebook during an interview! A notebook will never start sending you notifications at the worst possible moment!
😂😂😂😂😂 love this comment 💛
Good luck to anyone else attempting Camp NaNoWriMo this month 😎 we’ve got this
I'm really compelled by the fact that you're such cinnamon bun, a being of light, fluffiness and coziness but your favourite song is the summoning, a song that seemed to have come from the very depths of Tartarus 😂
That had to be a lovely experience. The house looked beautiful! Looks like you're getting out there and making a name for yourself. Keep up the good work.
Well done for doing something scary but enriching! And what a lovely artsy community to be invited to ✨🌙✨
This is so amazing!❤
your videos are always so comforting and inspiring!! thank you for what you do
So happy for you. Have seen you work hard all those days through all those jarring routines, yours and other writers! You deserve this and more.
so very happy for you, Christy! also, what a beautiful house! 😍
This is amazing!!!! Congrats!! Hope you had the best time- it’s really cool to see snippets of behind the scenes!!❤
Thanks so much for bringing us along; that house you were staying in was really nice! So impressed that you did these events!
It's a marvellous journey for a mate author like me, I think you should write a book of this memorial journey and named : Three days in Bellingen
This video made me emotional! 😂🎉 So proud of you!
I really love these videos, they are so cozy 💜💜💜
I haven't been a subscriber for super long, but I just feel so incredibly happy and proud to see these lovely well-deserved things happening to Christy! She is so hardworking and talented 🥰 here's to a long, successful writing career!
I feel proud watching you as you grow as a writer :3 Soooo happy for you!
How exciting for you this festival, your videos always make me want to devote myself to the writer’s path. Gosh you make it look like such a cosy profession and it is. I listened to providence too.
Bellingen looks so lovely! Thanks for sharing with us, Christy! We have literary festivals in my area, but nothing like this in my actual town. That's really sweet that members of the community volunteered and opened their homes to the authors too. Beautiful area, and it looks like you had a great time and it went well! Might be time for me to do a re-read of A Year in Tokyo too ^_^
So happy for you! What a fantastic event to uplift a writer such as yourself! Bravo!
I loved this vlog!! Congratulations on the festival! I could feel the mental exhaustion, I feel like that too with certain work things. You did it, well done! Looks beautiful and omg that bathroom was insane 👌🏻
i'm really happy for you christy 🎉❤
Hi Christy! This is my first time commenting, I first came across your content since I’m a bit of a Virginia Woolf fangirl and your video on her routine popped up in my feed. I’m a composer and get up early each morning to find regular time to create/work on commissions, and I often watch your author-routine videos when I’m making my morning coffee so that if feels someone else is getting up and working with me as well! But it was only upon watching this video that I realised just how personally invested I’ve become in your career journey.
I couldn’t help but smile as you spoke about each individual new challenge offered up by your work at the writer’s festival, and I felt so happy for you when you got through each one so well. I know this will be the first of many such opportunities for you so it feels so special that you share these moments with us! I love the community vibe of this festival too.
As part of my work I’m now getting more public speaking jobs myself for orchestral concerts, including having to host an interview/panel discussion at a concert earlier this year which is not worlds away from the kind of things you’re doing here, so once again I feel like we’re working in parallel and I totally get the particular brand of nervousness that come before doing these things :P
Anyway, all that is to say that I really appreciate your content and thank you for putting it out there. I’m sure I’m one of many creatives in this community who feel like we’re travelling on the same path, even though we’re in different disciplines! Thank you ❤
Really enjoy your vlogs and wishing you good luck with your book !📚🤗✈ fun tagging along🤗
Such a beautiful week and a gorgeous lovely home too!
i love that you love sleep token - the summoning is a fantastic song, that would have been hilarious if you had picked that 😅
it's also so cool that you were invited to the festival, I am devastated i couldn't head up the coast for the day to see you and the other authors! it looked like a really lovely couple of days 🥰
The festival looked amazing ♡
Such a great vlog! Omg this was such a nostalgic watch, I spent quite a bit of my childhood living around the Bellingen/Coffs Harbour area, I couldn't believe this is where you went! Hope you had a great time.
So lovely, and i'm very happy for you! 🥰❤
Beautiful video! The house was amazing!
Hello Christy! Well done for your job at the writers festival ☺️ the house at your host’s was so gorgeous with all windows and forest outside. I have never thought before about Hermione having no female friends in HP… this is a fascinating topic!! I’m planning on re reading the books this year for the 25th anniversary; but now that I try to remember, girls are indeed a bit jealous or mean to her. Good luck for project teacup ☕️ I’m hoping to see it in bookshop here in Edinburgh soon ❤️
That’s a beautiful house!! What a fun weekend
Congratulations Christy, what an amazing opportunity. X
i am so so prouf of you! loed this vlog so much
Tentative hellos from rainy Ireland, Christy
So fun!
Is so strane, I just finished watching the video that you are editing in this one and for a moment it broke my brain😅 been on a binge of your content the past few days as it's really helping me calm down. Thank you.
Yay, I'm so glad the weekend went really well (also that the weather held out for you). Looks like all, or nearly all of your books sold?
Congrats on doing those talks! I would have been nervous too. I would love to do a festival like that. :)
First to comment!!!!!!!!!!
I finished the first book of my fallen series in my notebook, I needed a break after the ending left me physically and emotionally drained! now I'm typing it up and working on the second book in my notebook.
I like to write by hand first before I type it up in google docs.
I've got 68897 words in the words count in my word count so far, only started chapter 21.
I need you become an audiobook narrator! Your voice is sooo soothing 🤎
'gentle panic' (17:58): Christy you've just conceptualised what I feel in relation to public speaking of all sorts 😂
Bellingen is one of my favourite places. I’m sorry I missed the festival this year. It would have been great to see you 😊
hahahaha loved the song fact!
Cozy vibes. Side note: I devoured A Year in Tokyo in an afternoon. Keep it up!
Hi Christy! Love your videos. As a fellow author I agree with your observation about many fantasy/scifi novels where the women are not friends or are just adversarial. I don't get it either. When I decided to write about heroines instead of heroes, once thing I unconsciously did was create many female friendships in my fantasy novels. I work with small publishers, though someday I hope to be published by a mainstream publishing house. My novels (I am not asking you to read them) are The Bardess of Rhulon, The Bastard Sorceress, Gate of Souls and Tree of Bones from 'A Familiar's Tale' series. They are full of female friendships along with magic and other fun things. Good writing to you and stay creative!
Hey Christy! Can you make a video of john grisham's writing routine? Love your videos btw
Lovely video!
Lovely video! I would really like to go to a literary festival sometime! I do have one point to argue though. While I get the point you are making with it, Hermione and Ginny do have friends. They are really good friends with each other, to the point that Hermione gives Ginny advice on how to get Harry's interest (which does kinda lose on the Bechdel test). Hermione is friends with the other girls in Gryffindor, just not as close as with Harry and Ron. And the whole reason the group meets Luna is because she is friends with Ginny. You just don't see much of these girls hanging out with each other without the guys because it's all from Harry's perspective. But, to be fair, the girls in HP have very few female friends in comparison to their male friends, and there are many instances in stories when girls (like Princess Leia or most Disney princesses) have no female friends. Anyway, beautiful video! Would really like to see the rainforest area sometime!
I loved the transition into sponsor🤣
I was just wondering what is the recipe to your porridge? It looks so yummy.
Hi Christy! Do you have/could you make a video on how to get started on youtube as a writer? I have a poetry collection that I am on the very very early days of, and filming the process might be a fun endeavor!
Oh yeah, Sleep Token is 🔥
I was interested to find out that you call wellingtons/wellies gum boots in Australia 😊
❤❤❤
this is such a cute little relazing video ahhh. your conduct is soothing. thank you for your videos, christy. ❤ btw, where did you purchase the microphone you use? do you rememebr? im currently on the lookout for mics 👀
also, what platform do you use to edit the video? ...questions that i had while wachting you edit it :D
23:39 si pude reir, la firma diferente en cada uno de los libros jajaja
Didn’t Kmart go out of business 😅 I haven’t seen one in years
Something weird I love, is seeing other people's editing time lines 😅
I think if you like things like the summoning and myth and lore etc you probably have ancient roots in the pagan world.
15:59 😂
Some people need to listen to The Summoning minimum of 5 times per day for their mental health. I am some people.
ahahaha shut up, i didn't think you were a metal head! love that. What's the name of the band for that song thats your current favourite?
Also congrats on the book festival, super fun!
Hello there hey there hey Hello hi hello
❤❤❤
