I’m so glad you’re talking about Dungeon Crawler Carl, I’ve definitely been hearing a lot of buzz about this one. With your description it sounds right up my alley! I’m so honored that I got mentioned twice in this video! 💕 I couldn’t agree more about the opening line of Hyperion! That Rachmaninoff Prelude in C# Minor is incredible! The music and imagery in that opening line perfectly convey the tone and atmosphere. I hope you enjoy Hyperion, Lonesome Dove, and all the BookTube darlings you get to! ✨🫶🏼
I read “Empire of Silence” this year and loved it! I read it between “Oathbringer” and “Rhythm of War,” and honestly I prefer Suneater over Stormlight so far! Can’t wait to book up “Howling Dark” soon.
YEEEESSSSS!!!!! Sun Eater is my favorite series. What The Witcher is to you, Sun Eater is to me. It is a truly unforgetable and special experience. From cheering outloud to crying my eyes out and everything in between. It has so much to say and does what it does perfectly. I can't wait to see your Sun Eater journey! You know I will be reminding you in the comments. 😁
"What The Witcher is to you, Sun Eater is to me" ... wow. that speaks volumes. Do pressure me haha! I am in a bit of a reading slump atm so I think the earliest I'll start is summer... but if you could suggest a way that you think would be fun/engaging for you as a viewer to see me go through SunEater, what would it be?
@valliyarnl Maybe something like a reading vlog, you read a third of the book, record your initial thoughts and reactions, then 2/3 and final third with overall opinion. That would be fun, especially for CERTAIN PARTS.
Thanks for putting this together! I'll always be partial with #9 - a MUST read, can't wait to hear what you think of it, as it's my favorite Stephen King standalone :) Suneater is absolutely GODLY. I've never read anything like it, and the books just keep getting better as they go!
@valliyarnl the big Witcher book explained video, was the one that caught my attention. I really like the way you explained the books and the whole witcher series. Videos like that are a big task, I think, but I just have to ask this, as new fan, I hope you do more such videos, of explaining the plot of a fantasy book or series, it was so entertaining to hear to explain it.
Aw, so sweet for you to shout me out when talking about my favorite series! You killed it with this video, Wera, and I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Sun Eater and some of these other titles too! ❤😘
At the end it comes down to personal preference. I think the first two books contain a complete story with a satisfying ending and the second pair cheapens it by retconning certain plotpoints with worse explanations and questionable story decisions. But I do agree that the latter half of the cantos does have some good things in it, while book 2 is also somewhat guilty of the things I criticize books 3 and 4 for.
Amazing video, Wera!! Sun Eater is a triumph. I'm very surprised by the number 2 spot. I haven't read it. But drom the comments I got and all the videos thumbnail, Wind and Truth would've been renamed Disappointment and Disgust. 😂
wowwww Petrik that's SAVAGE 😂😂😂 but yeah i was surprised as well! but yeah I definitely want to get into Sun Eater sometime this year :) thanks for watching my friend!
This is such a fun video, Wera!! Props to you for taking the time to gather all that data 👏 thrilled to be included and SO excited to hear what you think about 11/22/63 Also your new backdrop is lovely 🌷

During the video collaboration with Library of a Viking about bizzare list of 100 best F-y/SF/H-r books of the 21st century, you said about approach to wait some time after hype for the book ends and then check if the book still relevant. I like this approach a lot, so except for authors I already love, I do not read new books and books from authors who haven't have hyped on intitial publication date, but were hyped a lot after some "re-discover" event. The fact that "Hyperion", "Lonsome Dove" and "11/22/63" ared discussed and praised (many) years after the original publication date means that these books are worth checking, I read Dan Simmons book already, but I am happy to add the other two to the reading list 📚
i don’t know why this book is so hard to find, but after finally getting Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane, i get why they don’t want this out there. it breaks down exactly why most people stay stuck, and once you see it, you can’t unsee it. since reading it, my whole life has shifted. the secrets inside are worth the effort.
@@valliyarnl I loved the first book so I had to know how it "ends" and enjoyed the sequel, although somewhat less. ever notice how some books just disappear? Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane isn’t easy to find, and now i understand why. the things it reveals about energy and attraction? insane. i thought i was just “unlucky” until i applied what it teaches. within weeks, my finances flipped, and i stopped chasing things-now they come to me
spent way too long searching for Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane, and now i know why it keeps disappearing. this isn’t some basic “think positive” book-it actually explains why some people attract everything while others stay stuck. applied just one thing from it, and my results changed fast. if you can find it, don’t sleep on it.
so i recently read Funny Story after watching your Emily Henry video and loved it sm!! romance isn’t my usual genre but i related to Daph so MUCH?? 🥹 ps. the background 😍
Sad that Annie Bot was just a bit short to making it, but definitely a good read. The end is polarizing, and I think it is quite telling of people's past relationships based on their take. 5/5
i thought i had read every manifestation book out there, but Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane hits different. it’s damn near impossible to find, but after reading it, i see why. it doesn’t just talk about manifesting, it explains how to shift energy in a way that actually works. took me forever to track it down, but it was worth every second
Lonesome Dove! Yes! Best book I read last year, no question. This is a pretty interesting list overall, though. I have to wonder how exactly a book gains traction on BookTube. Is it as simple as one Booktuber reading it and passing it along, or is it more complicated than that? Rhetorical question, but still. Can't say I'm not curious...
yeah i guess that there's a lot of chain reactions going on! also I think influence from Tik Tok/Bookstagram has influence as well. I think this sort of new-age word of mouth is how a lot of books become so popular nowadays
@@valliyarnl Yes long on description even though it's only one pov. Lots of roman references like Will of the Many and Red Rising. Lots of references to what happens in future stories (like Name of the Wind?). I think Gene Wolfe's Book of the New Sun is an influence.
I like that Dan Simmons book is on the list, as he fits well to my theory how to be successful writer of F-y/SF/H-r writer: 1. To be born in 1948 (Dans Simmons, Terry Pratchett, Andrzej Sapkowsi, George R.R. Martin) or close to this year (Stephen King, 1947 😉) 2. To have intials "R.R." like George R.R. Martin or John R.R. Tolkien 3. To have first name Terry (Terry Pratchett, Terry Brooks, Terry Goodkind) I am still waiting for world to discover previously unpublished writer, who I am sure, become ultimate sussesful writer of F-y/SF/H-r: Terry R.R. born around 1948😉
I am of the opinion that book 3 Demon in White is the worst of the Suneater series, and the only book that is not at least as good as any before it, but it is still quite good. It is almost tied with book 1, but it is longer than it needs to be, the battle scenes can drag a bit after a while, and he dialed back on the purple prose a little too much before settling into a more natural eloquent style for the later books. Book 2 is definitely better than book 1 but book 4 is where the series becomes truly great.
Booktube is right, Dungeon Crawler Carl Book 5 is probably the best one, but they are all good. If you look beyond the absurdity, it is quite a biting satire on celebrity culture and commodification of people's lives.
yes... when Winds of Winter is announced has an official release date 🙃 I liked the first few szns of the show (i stopped watching halfway through season 6) and Littlefinger was my favorite

I read about half of the books in this list and will say they are all overrated . They are mostly 4 star books maybe 4.5 one or two. Not a single 5 star book
i don’t know why this book is so hard to find, but after finally getting Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane, i get why they don’t want this out there. it breaks down exactly why most people stay stuck, and once you see it, you can’t unsee it. since reading it, my whole life has shifted. the secrets inside are worth the effort.

@@valliyarnl I have to admit I haven't seen a single movie since 2023 😬
@ that’s ok! 😅 only started to get more into movies recently myself
ever notice how some books just disappear? Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane isn’t easy to find, and now i understand why. the things it reveals about energy and attraction? insane. i thought i was just “unlucky” until i applied what it teaches. within weeks, my finances flipped, and i stopped chasing things-now they come to me
Right this is why i watch booktube too. Just research im totally working
well duhhhhh why else would we watch booktube if not for research.... 😜
spent way too long searching for Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane, and now i know why it keeps disappearing. this isn’t some basic “think positive” book-it actually explains why some people attract everything while others stay stuck. applied just one thing from it, and my results changed fast. if you can find it, don’t sleep on it.
so i recently read Funny Story after watching your Emily Henry video and loved it sm!! romance isn’t my usual genre but i related to Daph so MUCH?? 🥹
ps. the background 😍
that's how I felt about it to!! 🥹
and thanks for complementing the background it took WAY longer to set up than I originally planned haha
Sad that Annie Bot was just a bit short to making it, but definitely a good read. The end is polarizing, and I think it is quite telling of people's past relationships based on their take. 5/5
definitely one I'm curious to read in the future :)
I’ve read these all🎉
Sun eater is the best ongoing series IMHO . The last book of storm light unfortunately confirmed that ….
1:53 yo this book is huge
Was thinking about reading Sun Eater at some point.
Maybe this is the motivation needed? 👀
Unrelated but my Amazon delivery of The First Law trilogy just arrived today!
HECK YES KEVIN!!!!!! I HOPE YOU LOVE IT
Uwielbiam to nowe tło, mam nadzieję że zostanie na dłużej 😊
Napewno zostanie do końca semestru 😅 a potem? Zobaczymy… czas udekorować półki w Warszawce
i thought i had read every manifestation book out there, but Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane hits different. it’s damn near impossible to find, but after reading it, i see why. it doesn’t just talk about manifesting, it explains how to shift energy in a way that actually works. took me forever to track it down, but it was worth every second
DCC fans unite! Holy shit I didn't expect Dungeon Crawler Carl to get a nod. Hell yeah.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I don't really get the Sun Eater appeal after reading the first two books. But I'm more of a sci-fi than fantasy fan.
would you say it appeals more to fantasy fans than sci-fi fans then?
@@valliyarnl Yes long on description even though it's only one pov. Lots of roman references like Will of the Many and Red Rising. Lots of references to what happens in future stories (like Name of the Wind?). I think Gene Wolfe's Book of the New Sun is an influence.
One Piece clears all. Please give it a try
I like that Dan Simmons book is on the list, as he fits well to my theory how to be successful writer of F-y/SF/H-r writer:
1. To be born in 1948 (Dans Simmons, Terry Pratchett, Andrzej Sapkowsi, George R.R. Martin) or close to this year (Stephen King, 1947 😉)
2. To have intials "R.R." like George R.R. Martin or John R.R. Tolkien
3. To have first name Terry (Terry Pratchett, Terry Brooks, Terry Goodkind)
I am still waiting for world to discover previously unpublished writer, who I am sure, become ultimate sussesful writer of F-y/SF/H-r: Terry R.R. born around 1948😉
hahahaha love this
I am of the opinion that book 3 Demon in White is the worst of the Suneater series, and the only book that is not at least as good as any before it, but it is still quite good.
Super!
Booktube is right, Dungeon Crawler Carl Book 5 is probably the best one, but they are all good. If you look beyond the absurdity, it is quite a biting satire on celebrity culture and commodification of people's lives.
looks like rain
Would you be considering reading George R.R Martin ?
yes... when Winds of Winter is announced has an official release date 🙃
I liked the first few szns of the show (i stopped watching halfway through season 6) and Littlefinger was my favorite
Witcher series part 2 when?!?!?
I’m working on it but in the meantime remember you can always just read the book!
Hellooo❤
Bonhart is a misunderstood guy
OOF this is DEFINITELY an unpopular take. so curious why?
@@valliyarnl He is a bit special and has really bad headaches you would understand if you were him
✨🌹🪻🥰🌸🌺✨
super film hello😁😀😃
Dzieki!

i kept seeing people talk about this book Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane, but when i tried to find it, it was nearly impossible. took me days to track it down, but once i read it, i got why. the stuff in here isn’t just theory-it actually works. made a few small changes, and opportunities started showing up like clockwork. if you can get your hands on it, don’t hesitate.
I read about half of the books in this list and will say they are all overrated . They are mostly 4 star books maybe 4.5 one or two. Not a single 5 star book
I mean 4 and 4.5 sounds like great books to me 😂
02:44 😂😂
Booktubers need to read better books I guess
Levy you hater 😂😂😂
Never change 🫶🏻

i don’t know why this book is so hard to find, but after finally getting Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane, i get why they don’t want this out there. it breaks down exactly why most people stay stuck, and once you see it, you can’t unsee it. since reading it, my whole life has shifted. the secrets inside are worth the effort.
