Just a heads up for people with red, dry, itchy or irritated skin- this will feel like a chemical burn. I bought this for dry skin on my neck and chest and it felt like it was on fire. I couldn’t believe the burning pain. I had to hop in the shower and wash off but was left with severe redness. Definitely only use if your skin is healthy already or not showing signs of irritation. I used the bottle on my feet and it felt fine on that area!
Makes sense because lactic acid is an exfoliant and it should not be used on compromised skin. If you want to exfoliate try mandelic acid. It is super gentle, still use it only thrice in a month.
Yeah, I didn’t know at the time. It was labeled for “rough or bumpy” skin and my skin was flaking off and bumpy so I assumed it was okay. I guess it depends on your skin type. I use Neutrogena Hydroboost now and am obsessed!! Super gentle and not sticky/stinky like Amlactin.
Yeah, Lactic acid is a strong chemical exfoliant. It's great but not the first option for sensitive skin at all(i also have sensitive skin) only use it if your skin can handle it, in very small concentrations at first. Never use exfoliants daily 🥺❤
I had that chemical burn feeling too the first time I used it. I washed it off as well. Then I tried it again the next day and the burning and redness was less. Eventually, my skin got used to it and I use it twice a day all over my body and my skin feels so soft and it faded a lot of dark marks. I love it now.
I've been using Amlactin, in the blue bottle, on my face, neck and chest for years. I truly believe that this lotion, along with sunscreen, has kept my skin young and supple. I am 53 and people are always surprised to find out my age.
Not for sure, but I have read that you are not suppose to mix the two, that you can incorporate it into your routine on alternate nights. I have done lactic acid days and retinol at night as long as I could tolerate it
@suzannesteele1275 I use it mainly on my body. I've used 12% on my face a few times usually at night with no issues but I believe it's recommended for the body.
A cream is a great way to go! I am a professional triathlete and former college swimmer, now working in the dermatology field. I would recommend the cetaphil or cerave cream.
I love your videos! But the bottle says not for facial use and you are showing us your beautiful smooth skin...what product can I use on my face? Thank you!!
Unless there’s a sex-specific skin issue, it’s fine to use skin care labeled for men, women, or both. Skincare for men is usually just for marketing and oftentimes little to nothing is actually different between men’s and women’s skin care
It doesn't matter at all :) If you have dry skin though, consider using a more gental cleanser (no stripping or tightening feeling after using it) as well as eating more healthy fats. I like the Burt's Bees Sensitive Skin cleanser and night cream/moisturizer, as well as eating chia seeds and avocado (fish is good to, if you eat meat). You can also try using some jojoba oil in addition to whatever moisturizer you want to use, as its composition is more similar to that of human sebum. If you live in a dry or cold area, also try getting a humidifier. Apply moisturizer immediately after showering/contact with water onto damp (but not dripping) skin. Weird, but you can also top it off with a thin layer of plain unscented vasaline, which will prevent moisturize loss (use as the last step only because anything you apply afterwards won't have skin contact/will just sit on top of the vasaline).
It’s not like women and men are two different species. The same ingredients that benefit the skin in women also do the same for men. The only difference in skincare marketed towards men is that those products tend to be loaded with irritating fragrances and/or menthol.
I've had the Amlactin RAPID RELIEF for 10 days, and it has made SUCH a difference on my Keratosis Pilaris bumps! And dry flaky skin. However, it's sticky, and makes the paper toilet seat liners stick to your Butt. LOL
Wow 12% lactic acid. That’s strong! I’m using TO 10% once a week. It can burn, especially if there’s a small cut. I use especially soothing serums after.
It CAN be used on the face. That’s what she’s saying. I’m an esthetician and I’ve DEFINITELY recommended it for the face. Just keep it away from the eye area like you would any AHA/BHA. And use at night. Good to go!
I get contact dermatitis if I use on the neck. Proceed with caution if you want to use this product on face, neck, and/or chest. I suggest a trying a product with 5% AHA product first to see how you tolerate it.

Have to say what others have said…the AmLactin smell is not appealing BUT IT GOES AWAY fairly quickly! And my dermatologist commented at my last encounter how much smoother my skin was. She asked ME what I had been using!
That is my FAVORITE body cream. My skin is always so smooth and is great on damp skin after the shower. I’ve tried similar products from Eucerin and another big brand I can’t remember now…. no contest, the Gold Bond works the best.
Heii Brianna! Do you prefer Cerave SA cream or the Gold bond for KP? The second one is more expensive and the Cerave one is working good on me, so I don't know if I should try them both

Can we use 10% lactic everyday? Isn't harmful?...please reply dr dray... ❤

Hi. I'm a 49 year old male. When choosing a moisturiser for dry skin does it have to be specifically for men or does it matter that much ?

Can the 10-20%+ urea body creams also be used on the face?
I use a 5% urea eucerin moisturiser on my face I doubt a higher percentage is advisable that's usually for really rough skin on feet etc
can this be used on face ..? Or just other body parts

Dr.Dray showed it at a Costco but you kind find it almost anywhere- Target, Walmart, Walgreens etc.
Can it be used on the face? Also, there is a 15 percent Amlactin. Can that be better for ingrown hairs on legs. The 12 percent does nothing for me.
No, the back of the bottle says do not use on face
