Thank you Johns for this presentation! Baltimore City Leadership must stop awarding out of state developers with TIF$ that is not beneficial for Baltimore City Residents!!!

Hope the city doesn't tear down these beautiful row houses! It looks like such a pleasant street!

I was contacted by the historic Harlem Theatre that is also getting the same threat from Baltimore City. This historic theatre is in danger of being demolished by Baltimore City with their "Park Plan" project.
Both of these projects should come together - they are only blocks apart.

My grandmother and her 10 children lived at 1102 Sarah Ann St. As her children reached adulthood, many of them resided in other houses on Sarah Ann St. I lived with my parents and siblings in a second floor apartment located at Sarah Ann and Carrollton Ave. I've spent many days running up & down Sarah Ann St. visiting my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

I have just signed the petition, adding this: I have come to love Baltimore after viewing many online heritage presentations (I have been there once, to visit Fort McHenry), and I want to see all heritage buildings preserved, the more so if they are still occupied (especially by historically disadvantaged communities). They shouldn't be pushing anybody out of their homes.

The owner sold these houses. The people living in them were all renters

I grew up in an alley house on Olive St in South Balto. There were 15 houses and 5 of those were my family members (aunts, uncles, cousins). Our house was about 725 sq ft in total.

Why demolish a place that's being well taken care of? It's apparent the residents care about their dwellings. I was a baby at 1325 Upton St in the 50's. It was demolished not well kept.

It sounds like the residents aren't the owners of the property?

so... where do people who live in alley houses leave their cars? i think i noticed some have garage buildings on em but not all. Stockton Street is another neat row facing demolition threats

Good question! Perhaps on bigger streets nearby? Some alley streets are wide enough for cars on one side. And thanks for highlight Stockton Street

If it's historic and worth saving, leave it to Baltimore to destroy it. (Memorial Stadium)

Those records do not and did not contain the language African American. Those documents state that those folks considered themselves and their race to be Black. No one should ever rewrite history. If those residents considered themselves and their race to be Black then that’s the term which should be used.
