Wow that was amazing. He really knows how to fish the trent using a feeder. His energy and passion for this venue is infectious. Thanks to all involved and please get Matt to do another trip on the non tidal trent.
Well team guru between yourselves & Matt you 've come up with a gem of a film to encourage anglers of all ages & experience to have a go on moving water & as Matt says "The unknown".I was self taught on drains & small rivers & they are more exciting & more challenging than Stillwater. After watching Matt in action, after going through his setup, proving it works & with such passion,I feel as though it's time for me to take the leap.I'm already looking for a decent rod to suit my needs.Thank you very much Matt thoroughly enjoyed it,top man.
Brilliant film Guru. One of the best things you ever did was get Matt on board, entertaining, fun guy, but amazing fisherman. Loving all the new gear and you have one of the best team of people a fishing company could have. Keep up the great work. #teamguru
Really enjoyed that cheers and totally agree the Tidal Trent is such a great place to put the angling skills to the test to catch who knows what and that is the magic of the river.
Brilliant video ! Matt is such a nice bloke, fantastic angler and willing to pass on tips. Always explains the finer points and gives the reasons why, so us mere mortals can maybe understand the workings a bit better.
Loved the video Matt, spoke to you in person on River Calder Riverfest comp a few yrs ago, you had drawn the broken weir peg. you will remember the old guy telling you about the peg lol
Absolutely love Matt. Well explained and definitely learnt alot from this as I've just started fishing the tidal river Arun a few miles from the sea. Cant wait to pick up some new items and putting all this into practice. Looking forward to the next lesson Matt. Keep up the good work team guru 🎣👍
I also prefer not to use the clip on deeper rivers to let the line bow out better. Tying a little slip knot on your main line once you've cast let's you check how accurately you're controlling the distance on the casts.
Excellent video. I find the guru River feeders don't last long in my bag before the cages break. I usually end up sliding a bit of bike tyre inner tube over them when they start breaking.
Great video Matt. One question, if you are clipped up how do you play out a bow in the line? Appreciate the line won’t be dead tight when the feeder lands but surely there isn’t enough excess line to form a decent bow especially on big, powerful rivers like the Trent? Thanks.
Hi Matt really good video to watch , I have a question for you , would you consider using or have you used blood worm as a bait . Some people say its a killer but you dont see the top anglers using it ,is there a reason for this ?
It's not as bad as it seems, if you're fishing regularly. It's only the worms that are really expensive and they will last ages if you dont use them and look after them. And you're saving a tenner on the day ticket! If you can afford two ventis rods and castizms,20 quid for a kilo of worms is loose change!
Matt is so good in front of the camera he's wasted at guru. The angling trust should have taken him and Tom scholey on board to get people into fishing. Their enthusiasm and the way they make it look so fun could have brought fishing out of the dark ages.
If any northern barbal angler needs a sponsor it's Gerry gleeson from stockport no messing now of this pree baited spots for a month for filming he just does it he finds the fish he's got that extra special a bit like a top cider
Brilliant video and amazing tips! I totally agree about river fishing, you just never know whats gonna happen ,its the best feeling ever

Heck of a track to peg 25. but worth it and a great video Matt, when's the next one on the Trent matt?

Still 'a little ginger with a squeaky voice!' ;-)
What rod is that
Excellent awesome angler PS. Is this day ticket water .???? If so where do you get them?...
Hi Matt really good video to watch , I have a question for you , would you consider using or have you used blood worm as a bait . Some people say its a killer but you dont see the top anglers using it ,is there a reason for this ?
Good info so whats the cost of all that bait going to cost us for a session
