This is one of the best games ever made. I played it to no end back in the day. It’s story and atmosphere were top notch, to say nothing of the gameplay.
Chris Roberts outdid himself with this game. The camera angles were limited due to the computer generated backgrounds, however the overall atmosphere and production values were of the highest standard. Good gaming memories :)
There is something really special about 90s CGI in videogames. This is comparable to the live action scenes in Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2. The CGI didn't look photorealistic and wasn't trying to. This was from a 5 year period where it could suspend your disbelief while not trying too hard to be perfect. I love it!
It was absolutely trying to be photorealistic. But because of low budget and technology, compromises had to be made, which ironically resulted in that style that you like.
@@youuuuuuuuuuutube I think the videos are in ega resolution, on crt monitors they looked way better, especially then when we were used to 240p television when it came to video...

Yeah, the game had a pretty impressive cast. Especially considering games back then weren't taken as serious by the general public and the media as today, but seen as "kids stuff".
This was the pinnacle of the WC series. Angel’s death, the destruction of the Concordia, Hobbe’s betrayal, the destruction of the Kilrathi home world….. There was actual loss and sadness to this game.
I've met Mark Hamill three times. Whenever I mentioned that I loved him in this game (twice) he changed the subject to his other work quickly. Yeah, his acting was far from great in this game (especially with amateur Ginger Lynn), but it worked.
He'd been unwittingly brainwashed by the kilrathi, with a secret kill-command embedded deep within his psyche. Didn't he end up defying it and sacrificing himself? I can't quite remember clearly.

And even taking into account that your comment was posted 4 years ago, the game even in 2020 was closer to 30 years old, not 20.
WOW, Sebastian Stan really DOES look like a young Mark Hamill. Stan's only 7 years younger than Hamill is here, and you can kinda see similarities in how they act. 5:59 just this rest of the scene especially, I can easily see Stan, its uncanny. Their voices are pretty different obviously, Hamill's voice is distinctly higher and raspier, but I'm pretty sure if Seb tried he could mimic its breathiness. UGH this just makes me mad that he's not playing an adult Luke Skywalker between RotJ and TFA
Such Nostalgia indeed! I spent countless sleepless nights playing WC1/WC2, and those two hooked me for the series till the end. However, I was very disappointed Story wise when Hobbes turns out to be an agent, the events of WC3 did not make justice to the previous story arcs nor to their ethical direction, all of the sudden it all became self centred narcissistic in a way and immoral. Lucasarts should have made a star wars luke game with mark hamill in the 90s. They would have raked in so much cash.

He probably tries to forget about FMVs existing, since they’re so dated or he didn’t think his acting was very strong in the game.
