Looking back at all the shit we've delt with for this game's lifespan, it's so nice to come back to this 3.2 song mod with one of the shortest, yet most impactful songs ever made for an FNF mod.
Garcello is an absolute legend. When he died he didn’t blame it on bf for it he accepted his mistake and rapped with him not to get revenge but to have one last moment of fun before fading away. Sad but legendary
I have the theory that the reason Headache and Nerves are slow and relaxing, is because his chest was feeling heavy out of the cigarette, but in Release he is dead, all the heaviness of his body is gone so he could be fast and just be happy singing Also *VIBE WITH SMOKE MAN* for simps is *VIBE WITH SMOKE DADDY*
I see it more as if the first two songs he was just happy having a good time with bf, but the third he realize that he actually died and is gonna disapear in some minutes, and so he get a little stressed, but then in the last song he accept it bc he know its already too late and there is no reason to make the last moments a bad momery at least thats my take with his facial expressions and the mood of the songs
You know you're doing something right when you can introduce a character, kill them off not even 6 minutes of their existence, and still leave an entire fan base heartbroken. God I love this mod so much.
This is the only FNF mod I played, and it just feels like the perfect mod. he doesn't get angry that you are better, doesn't blame you for anything, he just dies happy that you both had fun at the end of his life. He sees you not as an opponent, but as a friend that stuck with him.

Good old memories. I remember being active in the fnf fandom so much and it basically cured my depression, made me happier, made me a pro at rhythm games, this was one of my favourite mods, but now fnf is just a burning hole of drama, awful songs and pdo devs. I wish I could come back to 2020 to relive this. All the songs were amazing, especially these ones by atsuover. Thank you very much for everything.
I have same situation, so I am active in D&B fandom. Yeah, It has terrifying fun mods, but mods like golden apple (new), believe in surface, DDE is masterpiece. Also, fandom is so funni and still have this vibes and atmosphere
This mod is proof that you don’t need incredibly fast and hard songs to make something fun and still a vibe. The community deserves more mods with soundtracks like this.
Well I agree but it's a rhythm game, so if you want it to be fun then usually there has to be a lot of gameplay, and because this game almost always uses only vocals for the notes, you need a lot of vocals, which means really fast. I want a mod where they sing and their sprites have them holding and playing an instrument according to what's in the song, it'd be cool.

In 2020 i used to listen to these songs while i was at a summer camp, i remember having so much fun with my friends... 4 years later i come back to the same summer camp to find that all my friends are gone... I felt devastated, and now these songs just make me feel nostalgic

I like how garcello and hex are two different kinds of chill but all together wholesome. Hex is the energetic and upbeat, always smiling and happy. While garcello is more laid back, down to earth and has that relaxed feel.
I love how he’s just a guy for the first two songs. Not a bomb with anger issues, not a robot, not a demon nun, not a animal on a dance pad, not a scarecrow, not a child possessed by Satan, nothing wack like that. He’s just a nice smoker. I also love how even when dies, he still looks at BF with a smile.
I remember back when this came out, and everyone was talking about how sad the ending was. It's hard to believe it's already been a year. Even after a year, it still holds up, in my opinion, as one of THE classic mods.

Idk if it’s just me, but all his songs sound sad. Like you can hear the emotion in them. We only know the guy for about 6 minutes, yet we’re sad when he goes. It’s amazing.
I love how Release and Fading are much more of a duet than most songs, since there's no competition anymore. It's just a calm send-off to an unlikely friend
It started out as something playful, Garcello wanted to offer Boyfriend a cigarette, and it was just "Let's do a little rap battle, and I'll get off your case.", nothing serious. Heck, there are moments where the two harmonise in the first and second songs, because there is no hostility, it's just a fun thing that these two newfound friends do. "Tight bars, little man." is a punch to the gut, by the way.
The only mod I ever come back to listen to, even after I've lost interest in the fnf community. This holds a lot of good memories and is actually enjoyable as someone who is only decent at rhythm games.

That smile at the end as Garcello faded? That's the kind of smile worn by someone with no major regrets in the end. Someone who lived through a lot, possibly more than anyone should, and helped out a bunch of people in his short life.
I think Garcello actually came to terms with things because of him rap battling boyfriend. I cried because I liked his character, not because I thought he was miserable in death.
I like how even after Garcello dies he realises that he made mistakes and he might as well go out while letting someone have fun, especially now he has no restraints.
The subtle differences in animations for all four songs are incredible He's visibly struggling in the second one compared to the first, his head is jerkier as he tries harder to aim towards the notes, his hands are more tense, his nerves almost seem to be irritated overall In the third one he's. A ghost. Made out of colour changing smoke. That's pretty cool. And in the fourth one, his final note is replaced with a smile as he fades to nothing, while constantly flickering throughout the song The amount of effort gone into these is perfect

Garcello is the type of the char that's had it bad, but is always the first to help when someone needs it, or give them comfort, but still gets the worst like death. I always feel so bad about characters like Garcello. My man literally, on the 4th song, he made it easy for the player to, well, relax. He even had highlighted notes from the 3rd and 2nd song and maybe even the 1st one, and right before he faded away, he was smiling. Man, this is my favorite mod ever.
Out of all the mods out there, a bomb ready to explode with rage, an angry fax machine, a demon nun and a Russian with a voice so loud it can shake the church. The first time i listened to these songs was when the mod released. Ever since then i hummed them everywhere. After the mod died, and other mods like tricky and starving artist came out, and also the fact that the mods suddenly became as competion to see who is the hardest in terms of notes and music, i completely forgot about the songs. Just like everybody. Eventually i went out of my fnf phase too. Now, almost 3 years later, its like listening to them for the first time. This time though, they are filled with the memories of a happier time for the mod community. I missed it. And now for the first time ever in these mods, i (almost) felt emotional. Like an adult missing their youth. Thank you, Atsuover, for making one of the best songs the fnf community ever witnessed.
I have got to say, this is the best mod I have played so far, it had a fully animated cutscene, a bit of voice acting, even between the songs, and had the best songs I have heard in any mod. This mod even teared me up a little, I wanted to say that you guys did an amazing job, I'm serious, if anyone asked me what my favorite mod was, it would 1000% be this one.
The fact that basically everyone who checked out Smoke 'Em Out Struggle feels sad for what happened to Garcello means that this mod ended up being the world's greatest anti-smoking PSA At least he gets to go to the Ghost McDonald's at 6:53 as compensation for his sacrifice

Good old memories. I remember being active in the fnf fandom so much and it basically cured my depression, made me happier, made me a pro at rhythm games, this was one of my favourite mods, but now fnf is just a burning hole of drama, awful songs and pdo devs. I wish I could come back to 2020 to relive this. All the songs were amazing, especially these ones by atsuover. Thank you very much for everything.

This mod is proof that you don’t need incredibly fast and hard songs to make something fun and still a vibe. The community deserves more mods with soundtracks like this.
Well I agree but it's a rhythm game, so if you want it to be fun then usually there has to be a lot of gameplay, and because this game almost always uses only vocals for the notes, you need a lot of vocals, which means really fast. I want a mod where they sing and their sprites have them holding and playing an instrument according to what's in the song, it'd be cool.

Heck, there are moments where the two harmonise in the first and second songs, because there is no hostility, it's just a fun thing that these two newfound friends do.

Ok the animations are kinda wonky but working-
I like how even after Garcello dies he realises that he made mistakes and he might as well go out while letting someone have fun, especially now he has no restraints.
The subtle differences in animations for all four songs are incredible
He's visibly struggling in the second one compared to the first, his head is jerkier as he tries harder to aim towards the notes, his hands are more tense, his nerves almost seem to be irritated overall
In the third one he's. A ghost. Made out of colour changing smoke. That's pretty cool.
And in the fourth one, his final note is replaced with a smile as he fades to nothing, while constantly flickering throughout the song

Garcello is the type of the char that's had it bad, but is always the first to help when someone needs it, or give them comfort, but still gets the worst like death. I always feel so bad about characters like Garcello. My man literally, on the 4th song, he made it easy for the player to, well, relax. He even had highlighted notes from the 3rd and 2nd song and maybe even the 1st one, and right before he faded away, he was smiling. Man, this is my favorite mod ever.
To resume, he takes the pain he's given, blames noone and plays it down, always cool about it.

The first time i listened to these songs was when the mod released. Ever since then i hummed them everywhere. After the mod died, and other mods like tricky and starving artist came out, and also the fact that the mods suddenly became as competion to see who is the hardest in terms of notes and music, i completely forgot about the songs. Just like everybody. Eventually i went out of my fnf phase too.
Now, almost 3 years later, its like listening to them for the first time. This time though, they are filled with the memories of a happier time for the mod community. I missed it. And now for the first time ever in these mods, i (almost) felt emotional. Like an adult missing their youth. Thank you, Atsuover, for making one of the best songs the fnf community ever witnessed.
