The reason why there are not a lot of players playing Namora is merely because there are no people who own Jeff, Nocturne, Ironlad, and Namora simultaneously. The only people who own these cards are either very top-ranked or streamers, or they just got darn lucky. But for most players, they don't.
I think you might be forgetting another demographic, people who have been playing for a while. Both Ironlad and Jeff came out over a year ago. Namora and Nocturne are recent, sure, but its not like Nocturne wasn't highly sought after. She is still like 15% of the meta. I think its safe to say people just either underestimated Namora, or it didn't fit their playstyle. The cards will come, just keep playing. It stacks up pretty fast.
Yeah, I've been playing Namora, and it's been pretty strong. I haven't run Nocturne though, you could even use Scarlet Witch. Almost everyone has Jeff (25ish% of the meta) and Ironlad (from Discard and Tribunal's days)
This is true but it's not even about luck. It's just that normal people don't have as many keys and value them way more than these whales or maxed out players. Nocturne and Namora were a spotlight away from each other with the one in between having an Archetype defining card in Tribunal who would be a must get if you don't have him and after Namora was Sasquatch who everyone was saving for as he looked crazy
Interesting list for sure. Love to see new takes on decks emerge, just sucks that I’m missing a lot of the newer cards to make them work. Feels like no card is skippable anymore as players find a use the following week if anything.
Arishem enjoyer here. Played an Arishem deck against the likes of Safety Blade and KM best, and ruthless Darkhawk counter decks to earn my first ever infinite border on the Arishem spotlight variant avatar. I absolutely LOVE the first deck you featured on my preliminary test of it. Mbaku and uata are no joke great. I had multiple games where I had +1 energy or multiple cards gaining 1+ power right from the jump. Mbaku jumped out with 4 power from Phastos to secure me a lane. Also love seeing someone Loki me and then play a Mbaku and Uatu. The weakness with Arishem seems to be having snappable win conditions so I made a small substitution: Red Hulk for Legion. He is printing me cubes. Love making ongoing disabled everywhere XD and not running the darkhawk/rogue/shang chi meta thing rn. The real 5 head play with this deck is your opponent can’t Loki into your own counters.
Whatever deck I switched to I start playing against decks that have the exact counter cards needed. It’s not a coincidence at this point. This game is ridiculous
Yeah I'm convinced they have something coded to check for key cards and then go off there. It's to keep you playing as many people when frustrated DONT stop playing
While I love your videos, seeing this list always makes me hate the spotlight system even more. So many cards I missed or had to skip for something else that are now in top decks like Namora and there is no way I can get them without waiting an eternity or spending insane amounts of money

Well well well, Phastos in the number 1 deck. Also glad to see Arishem isn't dominating the way some people seemed to make it appear. He's too fun, I'd hate to see him nerfed. Hopefully the novelty wears off and his play rate drops a bit.
Why is hob goblin in that mbaku watcher deck phastos can make him worse and he’s worse for blob? Seems like he shouldn’t be there? Maybe swap for legion or another 5? And maybe like echo for a small tech counter instead of the watcher lol. Mbaku stays tho
You could try Iron Lad if you want a Jubilee-almost with less board space usage and 7 power instead. Otherwise, Jubilee is probably your next best thing.

My Arishem deck have Uatu, Mbaku, Darkhawk, Loki, Shang... is really an outlier, never seen in streaming yet, I've brewed and played it only since day 1. Tools for every counter lol I'm thinking only in changing Phastos (real savior in many games) for Patriot, because I've no answer for Debrii
Others have already said this, but as someone who's been playing for a year and a half, over 10k CL, and with I think 2 spotlight keys right now, the one and only deck on this list I have 100% of the cards for is #7. I try to plan ahead with keys, but tokens come in so almighty slowly. Every week I feel like I have a new card to regret skipping. No Blob, no Nocturne, no Mockingbird, No Cannonball, No Namora, No Sasquatch, No Zemo, No Phastos, no Blink, no Gilgamesh (I've bought a few passes but not everyone's made of money). One week it's mid and skippable, and a month later it's in half of the top decks. I'm looking at you, the Red Guardian I don't own. Acquisition is becoming prohibitive to competition.
It’s unfortunate. Second Dinner’s current strategy has far too many new cards at Series 5, and aren’t dropping things to 4 (or even 3) nearly fast enough.
For about 50 bucks per months you can get most cards. Obviously the less you spend the less cards you'll get. Same as in any other collectible card game.
@@silvsilvsilv Saying "Spend $50 every month on a video game in order to not fall behind in semi-casual competition" is a ridiculous position. Literally "pay to win?" Todays trash skip is tomorrow's hot card. Those who buy the season pass and do dailies (a completely reasonable ask for investment, not $50/mo) use their best judgement and still are at the whims of meta and balance changes. If every new card weren't Series 5, and if we could expect series drops of "all cards" on a non-laughable basis, the current system would be a lot less punishing.
@@bllOveron why is that a ridiculous position? You can be competitive as a free to play player, but if you want to get most cards the week they release you gotta spend money. It's the same in pretty much every other game of this type. And that's not even factoring in the fact that most cards are easily replaceable (except the ones that define the deck they're in). Don't have Sage? Just run Wolfsbane. Don't have Jeff? Run Nightcrawler. Don't have Phastos and Makkari? Just run literally any other decent 3-drops. Yeah, your deck will be slightly worse, but still very playable. Just be honest and say you want to get more/most cards for free.

lol the top deck this week featuring two cards that people were giving low star ratings to. I wonder if this just due to the meta or if Phastos and Makari truly have staying power. I know Phastos isn’t as low as Cozy gave it but I guess we’ll see in the following weeks if it’s as bad as people say or if it’ll be yet another card that people are talking about missing because they skipped it.
I'd recommend sage. Cannonball doesn't see much play after the nerf and red guardian is good to have but very replaceable. Sage is flexible and scales up big on a single turn so she can easily surprise your opponent turn 6.
As a Surfer Player its disappointing to see Makkari and Phastos in the best version of the list. I desperately needed to save some keys so I skipped them, and I'm already trying to save tokens for Sage who I missed. Seems like its impossible for even dedicated players to access cards they skip which makes me feel like i need to get every card which is equally impossible

I have 6000 tokens but cant decide who to buy. Options are Elsa , White Widow and Red guardian. Who do you guys think worth the tokens? I also dont have Namora
I think white widow is better than red guardian. She is a 2 drop that's an instant win with many locations. White widow goes in pretty much any deck and I find myself cutting red guardian a lot. But white widow is due for a nerf so keep that in mind.
Depends on what you already have in your collection and if you buy a card can you fit that card straight into a deck or archetype ?
