I bought this so my kids can do their school and tution work on it. So far, it is great. The pre installed nebo app is excellent for documents and writing
Hi great review again. I order one these last night based on your previous reviews, I really wanted an E-ink for the note taking properties but also wanted a table for media consumption as well as other task. Based on your reviews I believe this to be the best COMPROMISE...Hopefully ! Keep up the good work.
It's hard to find these matte screen P12s, but you can check the latest prices and availability here at the Lenovo store: lenovo.vzew.net/6e0kgK Here's the Lenovo store at amazon: amzn.to/3UOGSGQ So you can compare the latest prices. Hopefully this is just the first of their note taking android tablets, and we will see more devices having the option of the matte display in future. Let me know what you guys think. It's utterly brilliant. Better for reading and every other functionality than all Boox and Kindle Scribe except for writing. Picking it up over the Tab Ultra C and Kindle Scribe each time. However, the best use is reading on this, and taking notes on an Eink device.
Thank you for using the pen for different things!! This is the content/info I was looking for. Someone actually using it for notes taking. I already know what comes in the box xD. Also great info on the matte finish.
21 years ago I bought a laptop with a matt screen from the original MESH team. It would be low res by today's standards, but the look and the viewing angles were incredible - really it was the best screen I ever had on laptop. I never understood the market switch to glossy - seemed all about movies rather than any kind of work - but no choice for those of us that never watch movies. [Sidenote: It also had the best and best laid out keyboard I've ever encountered on a laptop to this day - another thing companies inexplicably get wrong again and again. Sadly it had massive cooling issues and when I cracked it open a few years later I found it had only one fan when there were bays for 2, even though it cost £1400 at 2003 prices... never understood companies scrimping on cheap parts that could have transformed their product into a big boy beater. I wish I'd been a techie who could have replaced all the insides and kept that keyboard and screen as a desktop replacement].
This is fascinating reading. Many thanks. I remember a photographer friend of mine bought a laptop with "glossy screen" advertised as a feature around 2004. It was an HP. But he hated it because he was constantly tilting the screen and moving around to find places free of reflections! Funny how things go around!
There are still quite a few laptops these days that come with matte screens (sometimes as an option). For example the Dell XPS... My 9570 came with the option of a 4k glossy touch screen, or a matte full HD non-touch panel. Quite a few desktop monitors do have the matte option too.
First of all, your review is the best there is on youtube for people looking for a productivity device! Second, do you know if this tablet has palm rejection and pen to text functionality ? I'm pretending to buy it for drawing and note taking.
Good video, it brings up a few questions for me: 1. How is it on the eyes when comparing it to other backlit screens 2. Also, how does it compare to E-ink screens in regards to eye comfort? 3. How well would it work as a secondary monitor if using something like Space desk? Even if it is not as good as E-ink in terms of eye comfort, but happens to be better than most backlit screens, I would consider looking into it a little more for my own personal use. Thanks again.
I put a matte screen protector on my Galaxy tab S8. Got it for a very good price in it's first year by using samsung trade in. Nice to look at and write on!
If it is already rather slow and less RAM than ideal, now what is it going to be like in 2-3 years time ? Lenovo should have just used a better processor and more RAM , I am sure most people would understand the hike in the price. What is this like I wonder compared to similar one sold by HUAWEI ?
Very good point. They make a P12 Pro, with the improved chip set, and I'd love to see that in a matte screen. But I also applaud them keeping the price down! Just need all the options in matte really!
Just bought Lenovo m11 and... Im so happy to use note air2 plus for work and m11 is for daughter to watch movies. Writing feel and eyeprotection is greatest on boox
would you recommend this for a teacher wanting to walk around the classroom annotating math problems displayed on screen for students? Or do you think the iPad would be preferred?
Yeah, it would work very well, but the iPad would also work great. I might be inclined to go with the iPad, as the apple pencil is absolutely great. But probably decide based on which OS you feel most comfortable in, apple or android. 🙂
Hi, thanks for the review! I'm deciding between this tablet and the onyx boox note air 4c. Which of these devices would you recommend more for reading books with annotations, taking notes and handwriting?
@KitBetts-Masters Thanks for the answer. I like e ink too. But before I only had e-readers (without a pen), and I'm worried that the pen won't be as responsive as on a tablet. Or am I worrying in vain and the difference won't be so noticeable?
Sir,I am from India and I have also purchased this tablet but I am facing some hanging problems in it, which is not much. I want to know whether this will increase with time or not. Please tell me its long term review and if you have any information related to it, please tell me that too. By the way, I am a student and I only have to study and do note related work with this tablet.
I would never buy a keyboard that doesn’t have an *“esc”* key. Specifically if it’s meant to be used as a PC. I use my iPad to get access to my macOS/Linux machines via terminal. And not having an esc key is a deal breaker for me.
It won't be out for awhile in the US. The new p11 plus won't be out in the US until October and hit overseas in May so I'd say maybe Christmas for this

Informative and genuine review. I'm planning to buy this in India. Was considering the Xiaomi Redmi 12.1 inch. This review was a big help, thank you.
Bro how's the tablet. I am also thinking of buying this.
@@priyam3361 I finally went for the iPad M2 13-inch. I almost bout this though, but could not find a store to get a look at it first.

Palm rejection? Yes... Try Notein
Pen to text? Yes...Try Nebo
Great review, Kit! This is definitely something different.
Thanks so much! Yeah, it's a bit special!
Greetings from Poland :)
Very best regards to you!

Nice review, thanks :D
great review
Any chance you could get your hands on the XP pen android tablet? Would love to see how it holds up against Lenovo's tab.

What do you think about Huawei Matepad 11.5 s? It has a matte display too. I don't know which one to buy, for university

Hiya, yeah, the back key is on the place of escape. I think that would do the same job? Thanks for commenting!
Any news on when it will be available in the US?
Great question! But no sorry. Has it never been released there, or just out of stock?
Funny, I can't find it in the US either. Or anywhere based on my US IP. It doesn't even show up on their site.
