      I would love to have an eagle one day and train it to soar thousands of feet with a small camera attached to its back, that would show off the countryside in a very different way!

      Thanks a lot, I don’t think it’s pushed on people new to falconry enough, I think we would have a lot less lost birds in the uk if newbies where really told how important it is!

      I think one of the problem in the UK is you guys don't have a sponsorship license program like we do in the states. If a newbie had a sponsor teaching them the ropes for 2 years, I think every base would be covered when they're out on their own.

    • @MercerFalconry
      @MercerFalconry  3 роки тому +2

      Absolutely, it’s crazy to me that legally here in the uk any random person can go out and buy any bird they like. What’s scary is that there are some breeders that will just sell to anyone without even checking if they have everything in place for the bird

    Very interesting great chat, I have used my tinyloc on two long searches this season one long search where hawk was on a pheasant 40 minute walk, another where hawk was down a rabbit hole even when located I had to call him out for several minutes.
    Invaluable piece of equipment.
    Keep up the good work.

    • @MercerFalconry
      @MercerFalconry  3 роки тому +2

      The tinyloc is great, thankfully I haven’t had to use it in a while but it’s so easy when it is needed, and I can’t believe people pay way more for other brands that have less features!!!

      They used bells to listen out for their birds but would have to keep their birds closer, we can now give our hawks a bit more freedom to roam. Now the technology exists i personally think it’s irresponsible to not use it
