    Just insane!
He started singing in choirs etc. at a young age, but then went on to study piano and other things, and only started singing with bands at a later age.
And he said in a three-part UA-cam interview with Jeff Castanon from Stratele Studios that he doesn’t even see himself primarily as a ‘singer’, or ‘pianist’…. (Nor does Henrik see himself primarily as a bassist, or Aron as a drummer, if I remember correctly.)
Still, to hear him sing and all three of them play, is so super inspiring to me.
Thanks for this compilation, man 🙏🙏

I respect Jonah and Diry Loops a lot- GREAT virtuoso musicians....BUT>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> singing as high as possible ( just for show- for "acrobatics")......does NOT equal a nice tone or an even desirable tone- That's why he always does it without music live.....If Jonah stuck to trying to just SING NORMAL notes (Normal for him would mean below G5 lol) and singing them with SOUL- The MOST important thing for ANY singer, I would be impressed...until then he IS definitely a GREAT musician and very good singer, but NOT in the realm of legends or greats such as Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, Mariah Carey, Bobby Mcferrin, Pavarotti and so on- If a singer cannot tap into his SOUL when he sings, he will NOT TOUCH anyone's SOUL (emotions) while singing...That is something way too many singers (ESPECIALLY) today do not comprehend.

  • @samlechiq8173
    @samlechiq8173 2 роки тому

Jonah is a great singer and musician BUT…your analysis of his range is WRONG!!
His range is ACTUALLY ALMOST 3 Octaves from B2-Bb5 (the B2 is scraped- not really sung)
JFYI (Michael Jackson had an actual singable 3.5 octaves from F2/F#2-Bb5/B5
    REAL Jonah Nilsson voice analysis:
    Nope, at 2:42 it’s NOT A#2
…it’s B2 (scraped too- not really “sung”).
2:44- NOT Jonah- Band members singing Ab2-A2-C#3 (also it’s studio- Auto-Tune is a helluva gimmick! :))) When he sings it LIVE, I’ll believe your claim that HE can ACTUALLY SING those notes- Until then - NOPE! :)))
2:50: F2 (scraped NOT sung- Doesn’t count- also- Auto-Tune is a helluva software to TRICK people- Elvis Presley could also go down to E1 (but SCRAPED- NOT sung…but he could actually SING as low as D2-E2- ACTUALLY SING that low- no Auto tune in the 50’s…also Elvis could sing up to Eb5-F#5/G5 live and even up to Bb2 live (VERY rare)- again NO auto tune.
17:41 A5 HELD NOTE to eternity- AUTO TUNE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LMAO
    - If you can’t hear that robotic sound- you need your ears checked.
PROOF is at 17:47= LIVE G5 HIGHEST possible HELD NOTE and 17:50= A5 for a FRACTION of a second - for “FX”ONLY!!!!!!!
His notes past G5 can only be sung as effects for a fraction of a second- (Not as Held notes)- Unless in studio and- again auto Tune !!!!
18:08 Held Bb5- Autotune ( a helluva gimmick cheating software- did I say that already - hahaha)- and that is in the STUDIO- NOT live.
18:14 G5 = HIGHEST HELD Note live- further proof (see above).
18:24 the C6 Very impressive but again- it’s a once in a blue moon possibility (I’m a baritone and can sing almost an Octave lower than him and I have VERY occasionally been able to hit a G#5-Bb5…even a B5 a LOONG time ago- again by fluke…so that C6 Really doesn’t count!
I acknowledge he did sing a HELD (couple of seconds Bb5 live at 18:41 ) but Auto Tune IS USED these days EVEN LIVE-- so Unless I hear him doing it at least 2-4 times more (as an example and can see his face) to make sure it’s not an autotune gimmick, I will say it COULD possible be again a VERY rare occurence or with Auto Tune help…
BUT even IF he CAN VERY occasionally hold notes above G5 LIVE…he still has ALMOST 3 Octaves…and NOT F2-Bb5- “NOT 3.5 octaves”
    I rest my case. :)

You do realize you’re just discussing his comfort range Rt? Every note here (regardless of comfort, sustainability, volume, clarity, etc) is connected or sang w/some form of cord closure.
It doesn’t matter if he just touches the note or not. Range is range. Now comfort range or Tessitura is an entirely different matter. That’s essentially what you’re discussing. But his overall range, is exactly as Kaji put together.
