My favorite tie, a solid navy knit tie. My other favorite, a solid burgundy knit tie. Between the two, they go with most of the shirts I wear: solids, stripes, graph checks.
I really like these videos. They illustrate your wonderful gents attire imaginatively presented to show it at its best. 👍
Superb recommendation I own a few shantung in both solid and stripe patterns thanks for sharing!
Yes. The navy and the gray textured plain ties are the perfect essentials. A burgundy and an olive green might be good additional choices as well. Green is an underrated color. Cheers
Absolutely…I think burgundy and green would be great in Shantung…I have pestered Rampley to add them…
Beauty! I love my shantung ties and just gifted a relative one with a pocket square, both from Rampley. The best! I love Chris’s color sense, always understated in wonderful harmony in the most elegant of ways.
Thank you
Very Nice ties...but way overpriced.
Great video again Chris. I want one plain grey tie - which do you think would be more useful, a grey shantung as in this video or a battle ship grey wool cashmere ?
Grey shantung as it is non-seasonal….but I love cashmere ties for winter!
Many thanks Chris! I had never heard of shantung until I was given Rampley & Co’s emerald and navy striped shantung. Such a gorgeous tie!
Can I ask another tie-related question Chris? Do ties ‘date’ or fall out of fashion. I used to wear ties by Canali and Duchamp but they now seem very bold even though they are beautifully made. Or maybe as I am now in my 50s my tastes have simply changed! Best, Gavin
@@GavinDingwall good question. I rarely wear bold ties but used to love a stronger pattern in the 90s/00s.
Perhaps wear with waistcoats or double-breasted jackets to reduce the impact? But if you like ‘em-wear ‘em!
Great advice Chris! I will get rid of the most florid ones but keep a few for old times sake! Best, Gavin
I hate it, it looks like old socks🎉
😅
Excellent video !! Some of the men in my family are clients of Rampley. I might suggest that you would be more credible if you go get a shave.....as would a well-groomed gentleman.
HmmmWTF
Chris's beard is beautifully trimmed...as is mine. 😎
Might I suggest that you would be more credible if you were to learn how to use verbs correctly. One may have a shave, one cannot get a shave. Anyway, there's a name for people without beards.... women.
Good for you...get a shave.@@johnparnell8571
