It is so wonderful seeing my grandfather do this. Thank you to the people that filmed this and to my mother Alice Smith Hollingsworth for allowing us to spend summers with him and "them ". Love for my Johnson family too!
I was surprised to see this video.I was standing at the fence watching this being recorded. The video crew asked us to show them to Mr. Johnson house.I was told that this video had aired on tv but never seen it.The time of this video was around 1968 I was in elemetary school.
I can't believe I have run across this...My mom showed us this when we were children and took a stab at finding it on UA-cam. Very cool to see this again. Mr. Johnson is a really cool old man. I bet he has stories to tell.
I toured the US as a musical theater performer from '92-'95 during which we performed in Memphis one weekend each year. One of the theater's benefactors would traditionally host the entire cast and crew for dinner, before which they would present this movie on VHS. I always remembered it, but haven't seen it since and was suddenly curious so I Googled the name. Fantastic to see it after all these years!
I am really tickled to find this on youtube. Got such a kick out of it when I first saw it on HBO(?) late one night around 1990. It is priceless & unforgettable. I had always hoped to see it again....:)
I first saw this as a news clip on a TV station from Jackson back in 71 or 72. I was just a kid then. It always stayed with me through the years and tonight was the first time I had seen the praying pigs since then. Now if I can only find those old Paul Ott Mississippi Game and Fish shows he use to do.
Oh, Ok. That is great!! I have an ex-girlfriend who would be SO EXCITED you found me. She so loved this video and I am glad you finally got to see it. This is one of the things that is so cool about UA-cam!!!
I grew up in Arkansas, and this is one of the little films that would be shown at the end of the day, when the TV station was signing off for the night. Brought back some memories. I knew the date was earlier than '78, as I was gone from home by that time.
