Diablo 3 Console Farming Tips: Infinite Farming Exploit & Difficulty Rewards Info

- Now that the Diablo III console version has been out for a little while we are starting to discover how some of the differences between the PC and Console versions can be utilized. In this video I go over two farming tips that have been discovered: how to have infinite farming runs and what difficulties give what bonuses to MF, GF & XP.
Act 1 Farming route example:
- Festering Woods (only on the first run to get NV stacks)
- Fields of Misery (repeat)
- Weeping Hollow (repeat)
- Halls of Agony 2 (repeat)
Easy, Normal & Hard: No bonuses.
Master I: +60% Magic Find, +60% Gold Find, +120% XP Bonus
Master II: +70% Magic Find, +70% Gold Find, +140% XP Bonus
Master III: +80% Magic Find, +80% Gold Find, +160% XP Bonus
Master IV: +90% Magic Find, +90% Gold Find, +180% XP Bonus
Master V: +100% Magic Find, +100% Gold Find, +200% XP Bonus

NV stacks are gained by killing an elite/rare pack from 60 onwards. They stack up to 3 on console and give you bonus Magic find gold find and XP. They also give you a guaranteed rare drop off each elite when you are at the full 3 stacks.
Key wardens are special purple-named mobs that drop infernal keys. There are three keys which are used to craft an infernal machine. Using the infernal machine opens a portal to a realm with uber bosses that can drop the parts needed to craft the hellfire ring!
NV = nephalem valor. You get 1 stack after each elite kill to a total of 3 in the console. Each one gives you bonus magic find gold find and experience. At 3 full stacks you get a number of other bonuses as well.
As for the infinite farming it seems to depend on what console you have - it works for some people and not for others.
For anyone who's unsure of getting this on console, don't be. I was and finally dove in yesterday. I am having a blast with it, especially if you have someone to play with. I thought there was no way it could be good, but I'm loving it. Just put all the pc crap out of your mind and enjoy a really fun multiplayer LAN experience.

Im still having a blast with it a decade later. It’s so intuitive, I wish more games were built this way.

Definitely! Though.. I have to admit the effect of such easy zone refreshes is that we are generally farming the same zone over & over in PoE instead of farming a set of 3-4 zones. Docks can be a little repetitive at times :S
Anywhere on Inferno difficulty is fine, just make sure you only pick up flawless square gems and not plain square ones as you can't combine the latter without tomes from hell (and there's no point going back to hell to farm). If you are on the PS3 version I think they've already updated it so only flawless drop.
In terms of gem drop rates the most effective method is to simply farm zones with the highest number of white mobs, Act 3 keep depths is always good. Act 1 fields of misery also.

Yeah totally, when you have the option to refresh a single zone people will go to the most efficient one for their time.
It's not a big problem though as PoE also has the maps system ;)
Ah woops yeah that was a mistake. You're right about the 20% jump, perhaps Master 1 is 60% then? They said it didn't exactly align to the monster power system but that Master 1 started at approx MP5 (aka 50% on the PC). It could be that M1 is 50% and M5 is 100% and the others are some other intervals between those two points.
Sadly I haven't been able to find exact data on those points, Blizz only said that they roughly correlated to those MP levels.
It's about 10 minutes I think, so clearing 2-3 other zones is usually enough time for the cache to empty.
Been getting mixed reports, some people are reporting it works and others not. No official patch on it.
What seems to be happening is it's fairly random on when the machine's cache empties of old zone data. It may vary depending on the system model you are playing on and whether you are installed to the HDD or not.
Man I wish we had the infinite farming runs on the PC, it'd be awesome to have marathon 5NV stack sessions. Could make for fun stream challenges too.
That's not how magic find works at all. The bonus is only applied to the chances you already had for a specific item rarity. So if you had a 1% chance for a legendary to drop, at 100% MF you'd have 2%.
3 is the max so it should. That's weird if they removed that feature from the console version. I haven't noticed them not dropping in co-op play but I haven't been looking out for it either.

I'm not sure he's talking about keys specifically. Your percentages for keys dropping is accurate at Master 5, but it's not that low at 1. It's more like this:
1 = 60%
2 = 70%
3 = 80%
4 = 90%
5 = 100%
Basically Master 1 = Monster Power 6 from the PC.
Someone once told me that it made them uncomfortable - I decided to just go with the flow on that, haha.
good tips, but doing this on the alkiazer run is the most effective since their are way more rares,champs,elites and trash mobs(plus key warden in stonefort)
It has changed a lot since 2013, for instance the difficulties are Normal, Hard and Expert which you can start from at level 1. Normal offers no bonuses as it's the baseline difficulty however hard offers an additional 75% gold/xp bonus and expert offers an additional 150% gold/xp bonus and bounties award double blood shards.

Jason Baillie I’m on torment XI from level 1 to 200 and the best farm I found was in act 2 in the place by the road to alcarnus go to the right and make a big circle around and when you do this it respawns the enimes (2018)version
I noticed as you said earlier that you could potentially keep your console on for days in an effort to keep your 3 NV stacks, the reason I'm asking is I've noticed NV is now a buff, with a 60 minute buff timer on it? Has that been confirmed based on PlayStation Console versions? Or just new due to the latest patch?

Nah, i havent played D3 in a few years at this point.
had a bit of trouble with this, everytime I tried it, the monsters didn't respawn, even after clearing out the highlands and leorics hunting grounds after, making the total of 6 areas cleared, they still didn't respawn. any ideas why?
How do monsters scale in Diablo 3? For example in Path of Exile each zone has a stated level, and the monsters will be more/less challenging from that focal point. In D3, with no 'Forced Instance' are all the monsters ingame scaled to the level of your character + Difficulty selection?
@ZiggyD, when you say "go back to festering woods..." and repeat run. Do you mean, just run back thru the zones...or can you "telaport" to town and repeat/load festering woods, via teleporter again?...rinse repeat...
If your farming 2-3 zoned it's not going to be 10 minutes.. 3 zones, completely cleared out would take atleast 45 minutes maybe an hour if your on the right difficulty.
By "clear the area" you mean kill every single enemy, just complete the map... what? I've been trying this route, but enemies are not respawning.
Something like 1% on easy normal and hard.

you guys can try this for one of your runs idk how well it will work cuz i have yet to test it more efficiently. But i had a run i did by myself a few days ago just cuz i needed materail so i figured fuck it ill back track and just do some basic farming but i wanted a mob and some elites and what not. so what i did was go to the inferno mode put it on act 3 the breached keep and went right to the kill ghom part. now i know i coulda started at find the breach to stack neph. valor but like i said this was just a basic farming day for me, i needed material to build some better gear. but anyway... do that and even start at "find the breach" if you want to stack neph. but run through that until the end of act 3. I did this and i swear to you in just a matter of a hlf hr to 45 mins i picked up i wanna say about 5-7 legendaries and got a double set legendary drop when i fought and defeated Azmodan which i was just as shocked as most of you are now hearing that and one of those greens happened to be just was i was looking for to complete my fist set for my monk... thats right ppl i got a double green drop after all that farming by running from the breached keep to the end of act 3 inferno mode and i believe i was on master 2. If anyone would like to do some runs hit me up.." keepitabuck100" is my gamertag.

3 NV stacks doesn't give you a 100% rare, that is for sure. Been running act 1 master 1 for several days now, and some packs drop only gold and a tome of secrets, some even drop only a gem (square, which is odd considering mats needed to combine them into flawless square), so I am pretty sure that with 3 NV a rare is not a 100% drop.
ive been doing this past couple days what happens is the zones themselfs dont reset but the dungeons in the zones do all the mobs and chests reset but only in the dungeons the outside areas will still be cleared along with the keywarden so its not a very good farming method sadly :( and the events that happen in some dungeons dont reset either
last night on xbox i went farming for the keys i got 3 of each of the keys in about 5ish hours on hard mode with 3 nv i also got the hellfire ring parts as well last night during that 5 hours
Bizarre design choices by Blizzard for the console vs the PC. Why is it so different? Monster power vs difficulty, less elites but you only need 3 NV instead of 5, etc. Are they planning on making the PC version more like the console version with the Xpac or is the console game just a different beast?
Thanks for the info. Can you advise a map lvl etc to find the most gems? Im trying to get more so I can make lvl 14 and 15 gems but you need so many just to make one. Any tips?
D3 console version is like a big fuck you to PC owners who actually wanted and probably enlightened blizzard to these changes.
Sorry for what's probably a stupid question, but how does one get Kadala up at lower level on XboxOne to do the Puzzle ring farming? I made a lvl 31 char in story mode.

That math seems wrong, what about Master 3 and 4 it just jumps to 100%
It wouldn't be 60% on Master 1 and then progress upwards?
Also the information you provided about MP benefits of XP,MF and GF, where did you get that info?
Ziggy thanks for the reply but you actually confused me even more, but I'm thinking it was a simple mistake instead of 30% and 40% you meant 70% and 80% right, but with that logic, you would need 6 Master Levels to get from 50% to 100%

U understand what I was saying, at somepoint you'd have a 20% jump in progression, is that correct?

It's design decisions like these that make me not wanna play D3 anymore. I've seen it done better in different games and thus I would always feel like something is missing in D3.
Like recently when I wanted to pop my quicksilver flask ... in diablo. I was reminded that there are no quicksilver flasks in there. :(

Just got my guy to level 60 today i dont know much about the game so whats the nv stacks and key wardens???
I think the reason why we are farming zones like docks, fellshrine and ledge are because they are "easy" compared to other content.
Actually if your character is strong you can farm different zones.
The other reason is that those zones tend to have a nice start and ending as they are kind linear (like act1 hillok runs, act2 forest and act3 city of sarn. Those zones have a WP and a town so it's super easy to farm)
i play 360, i notice that legendaries in hell difficulty and higher seem to drop in cycles... if that is just the law of averages whatevs, but i will get one legendary at the beginning of a farming run, blues and yellows for 2-3 hours, then get 2-3 legendaries in one fight against rares, champions, resplendent chests... or even breaking the vases and tables. o, i'm currently at around 290+ MF
idk about cycles. I can do 10 back to back alk runs on master3 and for some reason sometimes one lobby will drop 4+leg and the next lobby 1 leg. The console MF is screwed up and works nothing like MF is suppose too.

I play on 360 I have unpatched version of game because I started having crashing issues related to obtaining the second stack of nephalem glory so I deleted my content cache and my xbox is out of range of router and I cant move it closer but I have cleared nearly everything of act 1 on inferno m3 farming and not once out of the around 10 attempts have I been able to get it to refresh so does this only work for ps3? oh and Im playing DH rapidfire hatgen build I have gotten up to around 214k damge rating and it was only yesterday that I began inferno and paragon leving and I find it easy to run M3 and I get pretty good drops but I would just like to not have to quit and restack NV cause i don't get good drops while trying to restack NV.

I just did a test run. Used my phone to time it. After 10 mins it didn't refresh. Would say you for sure need to be offline.

Heard that u just x it by 5 so master 1 is mp 6 ii is mp7 iii is mp8 iv is mp9 and v is mp10 so easy is 0-1mp mid is 2-3mp hard is 4-5mp

Dude I'm lvl 60 farming mp3. I can do mp5 but its slower and I have to watch what's happening. I have a major freezing problem... just happened 4 times in a row in the same zone.. not impressed

Why would it not be true. D3 is just a computer program made by humans. Humans make mistakes. There are exploits and bugs in every program. Yes, even the SNES games of the days of old had bugs. Even if you didn't notice them or you didn't met the critera for the bug to occur.

I respect your opinion but your playing PC games on a laptop..... that is why you bought your console because that is not how you play a game on PC. You need to build a PC with power and you will see the deference in graphics and frame rate.

sorry but that's impossible, unless your game glitched and locked the data and allowed you to keep playing to stack valor but dude... no offense im well over 200+hours and never once have ive gone over 3

mostly depending on your stack amount for the glory, it's just chain link ligt off crits which can be nice in some builds like a WW. The wiki stats different but i dont see it work on the console

On Diablo3? I highly doubt it since everything is saved on their servers, which means you can't cheat. On consoles though, your saves are on it's hard drive which means you can just take it and mod it as much as you like.
Not for diablo III (although not everyone on console has mods either, yes you said everyone the second time) but overall PC gamers use more mods
