The Best Way to Fry a Turkey

- Not only is frying a whole turkey dangerous, but the outside gets overcooked before the inside is tender and the lengthy frying time means the turkey absorbs too much oil. I suggest you break down a turkey into its pieces. Brine the pieces, then dry them out in the refrigerator to ensure extra crispy skin, before simply dipping the turkey in buttermilk and seasoned flour. I guarantee that using this method will give you perfect results every time.
Omgoodness... I've never seen fried turkey battered, and deep fried like this! I MUST try this recipe! Thnx Andrew!
It is so good you wouldn't want it bake anymore.
@@jackielowry988 Did you cook it just like he did? My first time trying it, my skin burnt. I brined it in buttermilk, rinsed then fried. I cooked at the same temp he did but, my skin was burnt. It was showing signs of burning well before 20 minutes.
Andrew I've never had fried turkey nor have I ever seen it battered and deep fried like chicken. I'm over here watching at 3:21 am (insomnia sucks lol) looking for turkey recipes and had to click on yours because I love watching you cook and make wonderful food. I most definitely will do this for Christmas dinner. Thanks Andrew you rock!!
This is now my go to way to prepare turkey for holiday feasts. We did a heritage bird for Thanksgiving. I brined the 30 pound bird already cut up, then soaked it in buttermilk and hot sauce for a couple days and fried it according to this method. Never have I ever had better tasting and moist turkey than this. Thanks for sharing, Andrew!
Great video Andrew, I'm going to try that this thanks giving.
Thanks exactly what I was looking for I always do grilled for thanksgiving and I wanted to fry a cut up turkey for Christmas since we have a extra turkey in the freezer
Nothing sexier than a man cooking outdoors! Love it! Thanks for sharing. 🤗🍗

Best recipe ever, cut up is was easy.
Thank You.
Exactly what I was looking for!!! I know fried turkey is awesome, but felt it was very dangerous to put a whole turkey in a fryer. TFS
Genius!! & Perfect for a city girl!! 😂 Thank You.
THIS is the way I'll b frying my turkey this Thursday when I get off work. I was looking for someone who was going to fry a turkey like they would chicken. 😍🤩😍🤩🤤
Damn!!! That looks so delicious!!
Glad I found this... I can't wait until Thursday, it's going down 😋
always loved your tv show. miss you ,( strange foods)
Im gonna try this coz you do it so well its made up my mind!! What do you think, can I do this inside my home!? Just like chicken, huh?
I've never really liked turkey very much, but this turkey I really wanna try!
That was awesome thank you bro
After watching this from the UK, I have a dream..... GIANT TURKEY KIEV! cut a slit and stuff the turkey breast with garlic herb butter, then dip in buttermilk, flour and fry!
Perfect way to fry turkey for a lonely thanksgiving.
lol
Last Thanksgiving was pretty lonely for a lot of people.
I’m gonna try this!!!!
Great video. I have been wondering about this. Now Im thinking oven baked turkey the same way. Buy turkey and cut up like chicken and enjoy
Wow! I want some! :)
On the off chance you still monitor any comments, I have literally used this as my secret weapon to make thanksgiving turkey every god damn year.
I can dig it.
Nothing better than frying the whole turkey.
never tried that but it sure looks like I might be trying this
great !!!!
This was what I was looking for. The very fried my turkey for over 15 years but never with a batter. So I’m sous vide the turkey parts and flash fry them and see how they come out.
The turkey came out great using that method.
Someone get me some hot sauce and honey.. for real.
Thank you 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Never had an issue with fried turkey drying out. Inject with Apple Juice and it comes out juicy everytime. No sweetness or acidity either! This maybe an alternative.
How long was cooking time
You had me at "hot sauce and honey "😋😍🤯
Perfect for a two-people Christmas !
Yeah I need that
I love fried mullet roe..
Not a traditional fried turkey but it's looks good.
You posted a video!
Looks good but may want to searing first
Oooooow😮
25 mins
I just got hungry
i did like that the other day
I failed tonight, skin burnt ,think because I brined with some apple juice and brown sugar add and didnt rinse off the brine.
Same thing happened to me. I brined with buttermilk and rinsed off before frying but skin still burnt. I'm not sure what happened. But I know his looked good! I hope he's telling us everything.
He is right, deep frying a whole turkey wastes about 2/3 of it. If you get the breasts done perfectly, the rest of the bird is burnt to unedible leather.
Shit look good 🤣🤣

Fried whole turkey is the best..
Yo, got in my ear with JUICY and MOIST, a little uncomfortable with it, but I know it's for my own good.
This looks great, but it’s not “fried turkey.” It’s Kentucky Fried Turkey; a totally different thing. Cutting it up is a good idea, though.
Great for fried turkey and waffles, not so much for a Thanksgiving dinner unless you invest in 2 fryers. Tips on frying a whole turkey safely and evenly would have been a worthwhile watch. This felt like, "You're too dumb to be taught anything but McNuggets".
Nice method for an afternoon snack... Not that practical for a traditional family turkey dinner.
Especially if you are cooking for more than 3 or 4 people.
Its an entire turkey one piece at a time. What's the difference?
Alright, call me crazy, but what if you deep fried a deboned turkey as a galotine like Jaques Pepin does?
