- Michael Jordan is the only player to record back-to-back 50 point games in NBA playoffs : Set in Games 1 and 2 of 1988 First Round against the Cleveland Cavaliers (April 28 May 1, 1988)
This dude averaged 36 ppg during the ‘88 playoffs yet haters still say he couldn’t have won a playoff series without Scottie. Scottie, with all due respect, was not that good his rookie and sophomore seasons. He didn’t become the player we all know and love until about 1990/91. So MJ still had to carry the team up until that point. Give mike his respect man smh.
Yep. I remember a lot of people thinking he wasn't ready to be on the Dream Team.
But when he really became a baller, seemed like he got better every game.
Back to back 50 point games in the playoffs??? GOAT!
The man was a machine. On both offense and defense.
"Rapidly Balding" Jordan was a PROBLEM for NBA defenders because he was a savage with every skill and talent in the book. Nothing could stop him or even slow him down, for that matter.
the reason for the back to back 50pt game was was because after he scored 50 with Craig Ehlo on him Ron Harper was quoted n the paper saying MJ would never get 50 on me so while guarding him he scored 55 for extra measures
A lot of people don't know the story behind that.
You're absolutely right I forgot about that. He challenged The G.O.A.T and got burned for 55pts 6rbs 3ast 3stls 1blk...
Jordan rule number 1--Never challenge Michael
Mj is that God card on yugioh with flip effect or something. "you just talk negative to my card, now it's attack boosted to 50% more for the whole game" 😂😂😂
who in their right mind drops 50 points back to back IN THE PLAYOFFS!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? tremendous respect for the one and only
Mj. Even with the Celtics. Well 49 and 63. Lol!
The greatest back to back individual performances maybe ever in the history of basketball!!!
This is why I love Michael Jordannnnnn! -3 Forever a Bulls fan.
Jordan scored 63 vs 1986 celtics number 1 rated defense at the time.. He had numerous high scoring against bad boys pistons... PISTONS PEOPLE!
Yup. 49 game 1 then 63 game 2.
back to back 50 point PLAYOFF games
2:34 one-handed rebound
I know. That was crazy! Freakish
He did that several times, he simply was unbeliavable! Out of this planet lol!
MJ driving to basket puts his right hand on the floor to keep his balance and some how still makes the lay up. How did he do some sh*t like that going full speed? DAMN!
50 points back to back.Amazing. And playing in the playoffs at that!!!
Same average with the Celtics with Bird. 49 and 63!
so many great plays by MJ23 in game 1, wow
poor Craig Ehlo, I genuinely feel really bad for the guy
The 2nd game was more impressive. Not only were the Cavs more aggressive in their defensive schemes against him, he showed more of his game scoring in more diverse ways.
There was never a debate..... Ever.
@davidayalon1 : yeah, in the regular season. MJ did it in the Playoffs. He almost did it twice too, he had a 49 and 63 point games vs the eventual champion Boston Celtics in 1986 coming back from an injury which sidelined him for 60+ games.
Even today no one can beat this man.
Didn't even show the Jordan injury towards the end of the first game that looked at first like it would be a career-ending injury--before he comes back and scores 10 more. In the FIRST GAME. Then scored 55 in the second.
Insane Rebound!
Great video!!!
Jordan is the G.O.A.T and always will be!
young mj was unbafuckinglievable.
That dunk@1:55 Dayum!!
Love how people putting Steph Curry in the same sentence. Curry is no doubt the greatest 3 point shooter of all time - already.
But basketball player?? Please. Its MJ by far. Not even close.
Who has compared Curry to The G.O.A.T?...Because whomever did that dumbshit. Something is seriously wrong with them. Curry is not even on the same planet as MJ as Basketball player. 3 Pointer shooter yes and that's a Lil bit of debate even in clutch moments. Bcuz we've seen MJ make'em Wit the Game on the line. We haven't seen Curry do that yet. But player to player...Their is no comparison!!
I have heard zero people compare Curry to Jordan before you.
back to back 50 point games in the playoffs? thats ridiculous. then again it is michael jordan.
mj record 3 straight 50+pt and back to back back 50+pt in playoff, become only a player to done that.
The worst part is, Ron Harper was an above average defender
@davidayalon1
Yes he did, in fact, 4 straight games. I'm not sure why you're getting thumbs down, because medestinier didn't make it clear that he is reffering to playoff games only.
what makes jordan better than kobe is that he can perform better in a critical situation. he's the guy who you can rely on and he can even elevate the whole team. so he's not only skills. :)
mj thee greatest
Mj the goat
Show 1 player now days thats making those kind of defensive plays. And score on the other end like Mj
mayyybe kawhi but hes like a poor mans mj
1:23 the sexiest alley-oop ever.
No answer for Jordan at this time...he took advantage yo
do people understand how hard it is to do that in the playoffs. teams watch video and take the time to load up on u. COME ON IN THE PLAYOFFS? get the fuck out of here. JORDAN IS G.O.A.T
lenny wilkens should have been fired for leaving Ehlo alone guarding Mike. He was torching that clown. Mike torched everybody.
@spitnificent yea he is
got tha drank in me going back to back
no comparisons to his airness didn't kobe had some 50 pts games back to back?
@spitnificent kobe is great, but what made jordan better was the quality of the competittion. it was a time where almost every team had a chance. whos garding kobe these days? a bunch of slackers...jordan was guarded by starks, drexler, payton, wilkins, magic, elo, penny hardaway, tim hardaway, etc.
kobe is the best.... the best copy machine ever.
kid, kobe never had a 50+pts game back to back
in the play offs period
and stop trying to compare kobe with M.J. cuz
kobe is not even close to M.J.'s level.
@Honestyandyourself 1988
Jordan had a lot of lift in his jump shot...younger days
so hard to compare nobody but you only jordan
Kobe's never done it in the playoffs.
Lebron who
LOL kobe has not been the best since 06 anymore
Why we compared MJ to lebron and kobe.. kobe copy all the moves of jordan but he cant copy the style of basketball of mj the competitiveness, the way he hang in the air into the basket kobe didmt close the way MJ do into basketball also Lebron i am 25 years old but i know who's the goat i can see in my eyes Lebron didn't close to Mj anymore
I can't see how certain people would say that Kobe is better at getting to the hole than MJ just because Kobe fans emphasized his ballhandling since Kobe did. MJ had a timely countermove for the defense almost immediately. I don't even know why I even brought Kobe in the comparison, IMO he's not even the best in the league right now.
@SwaggKiddJay Actually Dirk is right now.
