When you loaded the sonic game state, and it failed, then it showed you the level select screen. That's something many old games did when something went wrong with code. They would send you to a "secret level select screen". That was to avoid freezing or crashing, and make easier the approval of their games by the console manufacturers.
Finally my finals are over, about time to catch up on the fun stuff :D And oh boy this thing is gold on so many levels; the Cool child HD lol Gotta say I was rather impressed by the GUI and the OS in general and the amount of work that went into designing the SBC specifically for such knockoff consoles. Also love the FPS overlay testing, very nice work!

The Chinese text directly above is a warning that playing too much games is harmful, something that the Chinese government is advocating to curb Video game addiction. Aussie here, here's what I know about it. Around the same time you ordered your example there were 3 listings for the console on Ebay Australia, all shipping from China, all requiring payment in foreign currency (2 listings in British Pounds, 1 listing in Euros). About an hour after I spotted the listings they vanished along with the seller's profiles from Ebay Australia (I assumed Ebay themselves removed them and found evidence that was the correct assumption several days later). I haven't seen a listing for the console since but highly doubt that anyone with half a brain would've bought one of these except for the purposes that you bought one for and no doubt there were probably a large number of complaints from Ebay users calling bullshit on this product and quickly advising Ebay of its existence on the site. Anyway very interesting and informative video, looking forward to the next one whatever the subject matter.
That level selection was a bug catch programmed in to pass the quality control at sega. This is why messing with the game cart in original hardware would send you into the "secret" level select. Any significant glitch would send you into the level select. As per an interview with one of the original programmers.
The fact you can in theory flash your own OS or Android onto it... I really want to see this refurbished into a media center or maybe a simple better emulator machine

Hey you can't complain it came with a DEATH ADAPTOR, and you got the TRON paintjob, also comes with ANTI GRAVITY PLATING that's why it feels so light 🤣🤣🤣, I'm sat in here in actual tears the graphics are so sharp, crisp and colourful the visuals are assaulting my eyes with slashes of sharp goodness, it's 8k fidelity it's mind crushing, and the sound is akin to the harps of heavan 🤣🤣, Christ that tops it I've just pissed myself 👍👍👍
Looking at the default yellow OSD text, I'm almost positive it's a skinned version of RetroArch on Android. The question is, why didn't they go for a Raspberry Pi clone and just run Lakka, which is pure RetroArch?! EDIT: Holy crap! IT IS a cheapo Pi clone! The H2+ is on the cheapest OrangePi Zero. EDIT2: If you're in for some experimenting, try the H2+ builds of RetrOrangePi (Lite). You'll have to search for a mirror for the download since the H2 has been deprecated for a while now, but it'd be just flashing the image with Balena Etcher or similar to an SD card and powering on the device.
That's actually a two-phase Chinese plug, though they can work in European plugs if you bend the pins a little. Still a bit unusual, as you'll generally find anything in China with a CPU in it having a three pin plug. At least that's the case with more expensive hardware.
The plug is a wallwart, and a universal adapter - is dangerous = universal socket with no shutter - a child can easily put a metal thing in it and get electrocuted ⚠️, the plug part is interchangeable with different pin configurations - what country they are exporting it to, even the Chinese know these are dangerous and put a “export only” sticker on them, but there is a Chineseum crap factory in the Orient that is spitting them out and they haven’t stopped/nobody has stopped them. They should be destroyed and not used - to me they are plastic and scrap metal.

EDIT2: If you're in for some experimenting, try the H2+ builds of RetrOrangePi (Lite). You'll have to search for a mirror for the download since the H2 has been deprecated for a while now, but it'd be just flashing the image with Balena Etcher or similar to an SD card and powering on the device.

That's actually a two-phase Chinese plug, though they can work in European plugs if you bend the pins a little. Still a bit unusual, as you'll generally find anything in China with a CPU in it having a three pin plug. At least that's the case with more expensive hardware.

The plug is a wallwart, and a universal adapter - is dangerous = universal socket with no shutter - a child can easily put a metal thing in it and get electrocuted ⚠️, the plug part is interchangeable with different pin configurations - what country they are exporting it to, even the Chinese know these are dangerous and put a “export only” sticker on them, but there is a Chineseum crap factory in the Orient that is spitting them out and they haven’t stopped/nobody has stopped them. They should be destroyed and not used - to me they are plastic and scrap metal.
