I would love to come apprentice with you. I have trained difficult horses all my life. I do these things with horses and appreciate another who helps the horse trust using soft communication and bonding. I give much of myself to horses, many, do not understand that openness and commitment

You can see from the scars on this animal, especially the whip marks all over its face, and deep lines on it's flanks from harsh spurring, that it was used in a rodeo. repeating the same treatment, seemed a bit ott. I hope they find a gentle owner for this abused creature.

never have the nose band that low! it can break the horses cartilage. I get first tie haltering but it can cause injury and ruin his trust. Very different technique! Interesting.
Wish you would have shown more of getting her to accept touch to her hind quarters. I have a rescue that can be ridden, however she is horrid with the farrier. I know it's a show but I'd like to see more technique.
It looked like he used his feet and soft percussion on the front and the back of the legs, then between the legs against the lower abdomen. Then that dance where he reached around, since horses are 'into pressure' animals, he was touching the lower abdomen and thigh on the opposite side of the horse from himself, so it would explode the hind end away from him. Most people probably use loose ropes swung around the hind legs and I've used lead rope desensitization. A Monty Robert's method of an oak branch with sleeves and gloves simulates human touch safely, there's the parelli method of wrapping a long soft rope around the hind hocks then picking the hoof off the ground. My mustang used to try to jerk her hind legs out of my hands, and I would just gently hold the hoof high until she stopped pulling, then let her leg down. I've only had her 7 months, she's about 5yo, and the ferrier had trimmed her twice, but she was worried this 3rd time, she started pulling and then kicked the farrier. I should have recognized her anxious body language more quickly, now I've got to finish gentling her and I know I'll have to be devoted to her but I'll help her figure out how to trust humans.
One thing I did with my young mare who had that issue is the rope thing. Exactly the same thing this man did, just repeatedly for weeks. After she quit reacting to the rope touching her, you can add a single hobble to one leg and tie the lead rope to it. Use that to lift her leg, and only release it when she is calm and holds her leg up. It doesn't hurt, because of the (preferably) thickly padded single hobble. Once she is comfortable with this, use this but add a hand, touch her all over with your hands, absolutely desensitize her to it. Eventually, you will be able to take the hobble off and only touch her with your hands, and she will respond the same way. Its just a matter of making them comfortable with strange sensations, the same as you do when starting a horse under saddle; which is why I, personally, always start horses bareback before a saddle ever touches them. They might throw you, just like teaching them to accept touch may get you kicked, but it will create a better relationship without forcing them to do anything with pain or fear.

@@radhaor He doesn't win long term trust, he sensory overloads them and hops on their back. It's performative rubbish with next to no functional substance.
They obviously have not seen actual compassionate ground training that embraces the horse language of pressure and release. My 8yo students are able to grasp this concept quickly. ANd then no halter is needed for liberty work. It is truly magic.

Tragic display of theatrics. Made me cringe repeatedly watching constant pressure- no release for the mare. Concept geared towards submission of the animal. What is the point of kicking the horse in her belly and flank- her body language and flinching tells me she is stressed. Please do not use this training methods on your horse.
Have you ever seen how a horse herd behaves when you introduce a new horse especially one who is traumatized / non well socialized? If you did you know they are not at all kind or nice to them but very firm, corrective and pushy
