It irritates me. Carácter and personality do not define roles. Also plenty of people are both or neither. It is like assuming you can know if a heterocouple do missionary or reverse cow girl based on their personality. Ridiculous.
@agneteht You know what annoys me when people ask all the time about bl actors who is top and bottom like have you the ask everytime and as long actors have good chemistry I enjoy their series
@@giftwilliam4919 You don't get me and apparently no one here in the comments when I see like this I just give my opinion that's it and I don't mean anything bad by this like what????🤨
I recently watched it and OMG the crying and kissing at the rooftop my goodness it was peak acting. Also the dimples of Pran is super iconic, I didnt care who was top or bottom even tho they kept insinuating that Prat is the top.
@thestraltheundead4093 It was hinted that Pran probably was the bottom in the beginning but later in the village he got "his turn". It was a sign that the love of Pat was big enough to be the bottom for him and and also showed the equality in their relationship.
Bible is slaaaaaying his role! And I'm so tired from the comments where people complaining about his role. Personally I loooove it. Bible is killing it, he can be both 5op and bottom, it doesn't matter, he is such a good actor! And he is super cute in 4minutes))))))) I really wanted to see him opposite to Vegas)
the chemistry is good though and the plot too that you wouldn't care about that anymore. I think it's much better this way tho coz he played it so well 😮
Love Bible as Vegas but didn't see him so much as a top but that Vegas was crazy, dangerous and could become violent in a second. He did show his soft and gentle side during the series. But I think some of his lovers being submissive was to keep him sane. Vegas's beating of Pete with the belt and his care afterwards showed how close he was riding on the edge.
i think first kanaphan is also another great example of breaking stereotypes. although firstkhaotung is now an official pairing, first's previous series like 'the shipper' (submissive bottom), 'not me' (dominant badass bottom), 'the eclipse' (soft top) and 'ray' (switch) are some of the examples of how he nails all his characters while portraying immense chemistry with his onscreen partners.
I reaaaallly love their pairing because of the CHEMISTRY like it really doesn’t matter. Even outside of more sexual scenes they just act so well together. I literally have had dreams about them they’re so talented.
UpPoom / JesBible ❤ are a different level imo!! I honestly don’t care 🤷♀️ who is top, bottom, dominant or submissive! Like you mentioned Up’s characters Gene & Ming totally different but slayed both!! Overall quality, professionalism and great acting 🎭 is what makes it work!! Edit: Also when Up’s face came up I screamed 😂 his aura 😩🥵🔥 goodness!!
pooh and pavel literally said f yr stupid steryotypes and i love them sm for that. their facial expressions during love making and the overall chemistry between them is excellent. personally, idc who the top n who the bottom is. as long as they portray their respective roles properly i love them
the bottom one is always the shorter one, the lighter one, the skinnier/less toned one, the one that looks more feminine, and the one with the higher pitched voice. so i greatly thank BLs like KinnPorche and PitBabe for changing the script on that
@@BiancaPaust no fr. As well as PitBabe were the bottom is unexpected and doesn’t act like the “typical” bottom. Funny how the very dramas who dared to defy “position norms” were also the ones with some of the best plot and acting… funny how that works
I was so excited when I saw Max and Tul in their series! Finally no over the top fragile and soft "bottom". Representation is important and we need those "softer" boys, but please, don't make it their whole reason to be! I want to see those boys being badass, too! Give them a character, more depth and a real story! Saint as Tutor was amazing! I binged LbC and Why are you back to back and I loved him in both characters. He is just an amazing actor and knows how to show different sides of him.
It's so wildly overfet1shed in BL because 90% of those stories are written for women by women and have nothing to do with actual lgbvtq.... for real some stories have written that the ahole selflubes and : gets wet : you can tell those are written by women who are clueless.. I love that they are breaking this unsightly stereotype of the BL-qorlds twink/daddy fetishes and I am so ready for the Versatile Era. Both in characters AND ACTORS. As the one of the pixiiies who is a female top. The tropes and ignoranr stereotypes bug me to no end. Yes some of the. Are true but many times over, it can be the opposite. So ... stories like Playbooy where a person like Zoey is the top. Was so very satisfying. Also, y'all need to watch more actual stars of P⚜️n that vlogs about their lives. People like Atago. Look him up. He is very much a versatile bisexual and he talks about his life as a host on social media. Seriously. He'll show you by far how it can really work.
I cringe every time people's first/only comment on a series is Who's the Top/Bottom. Or how an actor is suddenly locked within a role, based on one/previous series. The whole feminine/masculine deciding who is what as well. Since yoy mentioned KinnPorsche, it's one of the things I very much like about Mile and Apo as Kinn and Porsche. There was a whole debate going on, because some were annoyed that Apo was 'too masculine' to play the bottom. It really tells which fans are likely fetishizing gay/bi men, if they will only accept the ultra stereotypes.
@@Ooooooooooooopo There is nothing wrong with preferring a specific type dynamic, everyone has preferences, though asking for who is what position as the first question, not even commenting on anything else is 😬 Where it goes off the rails for me, are the various 'What, he's the bottom? But he's too masculine for that, I don't like it' comments.. or the variety of 'Noo, that actor can't/shouldn't be the bottom, he's a top', based on the actor's looks, or the previous role he has played, maybe only in a single BL before this role. The way some want to lock an actor in a stereotype, based on a single performance, or worse when only by his looks/height is 🙄
I was really obsessed with the top and bottom scenario at the beginning of my bl life. I was so in to that stereotypes. But now i can say that i have really changed a lot. Because nowadays I don't even bother this thing and the credit should goes to all those couples like pavel and pooh , Poom and Up, Jess and Bible, Benz and Garfield etc .
As a gay do i like the stereo type top and bottom yes! BUT I love when the actor who plays the top plays a bottom my favorite actor who played a top and bottom is Neo trai nimtawat who played boston in only friends yes he was mainly a top but showed he bottom for aka "top" actor force character yes it showed a litte bit that glimpse showed someone being vers like in the real lgbtq+ community we have people who mostly top or bottom but will do the other role with the right partner.
As a girl who watches gay porn, the whole concept of "top" and "bottom" is definitely something that fans have created because in most gay porn videos the actors will switch roles from giving and receiving
Bro can we just all agree that My Stand In by far the best bl of 2024. Like omg Joe is soooo handsome and his acting is chef's kiss. Also the scene where Ming realises that the back he is being weirdly obsessed over was Joe all along and then goes to hug him amidst of shooting is soo emotional and raw. At first I thought Ming was gonna be a bottom due to his feminine robes lol but now idc.
I never understood why fans are so eager to put actors in some boxes. I thought the core of acting was exactly the opposite - portraying different characters with different life experience, preferences etc. I hate when actors are typecasted and just keep playing similar roles from one project to another, especially if it's with the same partner. That's why I love FirstKhao for example, they are always different and amazing, no matter if together or not, as main characters or supporting ones, and I think at this point no one really cares about whole top/bottom thing. P.S. as a side note, Jes' name is written with one 's', it's a shortened version of his full name Jespipat.
@@S.O.N.. I think this may have to do with your gender, sexuality and culture. I grew up in a relatively conservative Chinese culture, and I initially rejected the concept of switching (same as my friends who are into BL). Back then I thought I was pure straight. But in college I identified myself as a bisexual, and it was in the process of exploring my sexuality that I gradually accepted and liked switching in ships. I think as Asian females we're probably tighter bound to the traditional image of women (weaker and more submissive), and placing a man in the receiving position alleviates that loss of power, thus the origination of BL (in Japan). However the heterosexual stereotype is still too strong, straight women can't handle the idea of utter powerlessness and vulnerability in men, so Asian BL still maintains stereotypical top-bottom dynamics. Honestly I was shocked when I first began shipping on ao3 and had a tough time getting used to tops being bottoms🤣Now I feel the relationship is off balance if they don't even think about switching, but I still have a favourite bottom out of the two. Like in JesBible although I'm completely fine with Jes's character bottoming, seeing Bible's character bottoming is 100 times more appealing, because I just love that man so much😍 I don't know if it's just me or does every fangirl have a favourite too...anyway I've thought about it a lot but its kinda difficult to express in English.
poohpavel are so unique 😩. but im ngl, the intial reaction to pavel playing a bottom in pitbabe was not it. ppl on Instagram, tiktok, and youtube were extremely closed-minded and not accepting of poohpavel. even now there are ppl that refuse to accept their cp. in my opinion, i dont care who's top or bottom as that doesnt matter at all. im only interested in plots and chemistry and could care less about nc scenes. but as poohpavel are relatively new as a cp in the industry and their ship is not something that we see in bl a lot, im really looking forward to seeing their dynamic in other series in the future 💕
Thank you for a great video. I’m a westerner and new to BL (two years) and I found the top/bottom fascination really bizarre. It’s like applying heterosexual thinking to queer tv. I hope we drop all this soon.
Great video!! Only one you missed that I can think off right now is Santa being announced as Perth new partner and people reacting with the classical: "But they are both tops" bullshit. I saw a comment on MDL that was basically "two tops I have to recalibrate". Like????? Do these people hear themeselves speak??
I enjoy your videos! I would say that Zee and Saint’s characters were a verse couple, though. In either their last or one of their last NC scenes, they talk about switching positions. So they go even further in breaking the stereotypes. ❤
BIBLE el mejor actor! Tan versátil, es increíble como puede ejecutar un personaje a la perfección, y considerando que lleva poco tiempo en la industria.🖤💯
Im straight but for me I believe that it depends on how the two people in the relationship feel. I think sometimes they couple may want to try being in the other position making them versatile
I think people oftentimes forget that beyond “top” and “bottom”, there are more options. Although many refuse to believe so, a lot of LGBTQ+ people actually identify as “vers” (versatile) meaning they enjoy both topping and bottoming even if there might or not be a preference for one or the other. ↕️ I think the TRUE EVOLUTION of the BL GENRE will come when shows actually start depicting characters in shows as “vers” which would open a whole world of potential character and plot dynamics. 🔄 There is nothing sexier than someone who can do both! (IYKWIAS). 🔥💙✨
Only Friends introduced some verse characters, which was great!! Also Poom is technically a verse character in My Stand-In ❤ oh and Gawin and Podd’s couple from Dark Blue Kiss was verse!
@@missanna7510 you’re welcome! ❤️There have been a few, but I think we could always use more verse characters! Or even characters like Thor in The Warp Effect who don’t like penetration at all. Showing different sides of sexual preference would open people’s minds a bit.
@@bethconley Yes, being a “side” is also another option beyond top or bottom. 🙌 I’m mostly waiting for the moment we get to see “vers” couples actively switching positions from episode to episode. 🔄 It would be amazing to get to see both sides of the couple be dominant and submissive in and outside of the bedroom. 🙈
I have noticed this its always kind of weird and a put off when someone asks who is in what position like why does it matter they just like each other whatever they do in bed doesn’t change that
As a gay person, I agree. For one thing, I am definitely more attracted to power bottoms than ladyboys. And in BL, it doesn't matter. In 4 minutes, I love Bible as a bottom. He can show more of his cute side!!! In "Love Mechanics", War Wanarat play a real power bottom. On the lost episode, on the rooftop, we can also imagine them able to switch roles. I hope they will keep it that way in "Jack & Joker: U Steal My Heart!" in September for YinWar.
Bible is such a good actor that I forgot most of the time he played in kinnporsh. He is playing the opposite of vegas character in 4 minutes . He did that so well. And Jess is the perfect match for the series 4 mins
Really irks me with this "who is bottom? Who is Top"? Irdc about positions! As long as They act well n Have chemistry that's matter. Man, I have such a huge crush on BIBLE since KP. N with 4minutes it tripled. I always knew he is such a talented Actor but even still I'm shocked by his versatility. I mean you can't tell he is the Vegas. In 4minutes he is so cute n innocence. I love how he panics n shy n awkward. Really love these actors you have mentioned. This is such a refreshing to see Actors breaking boundaries and not limiting themselves in a box
SPECIFICALLY straight women, they make me hate them so much, and I'm saying this as a bi woman myself. Smh- ik that not all of them are bad, but their reputation here is SRSLY making my skin boil with their stupidity and disgusting mindsets to us queer folks-
Maxtul is Very very cute... The two of them together can Light any Stories,The Best of Best... Also ZeeSaint had superb chemistry It's shame that they can't act together again... This is what is needed We need different types of representation... Thai Bl's are going Really Good...
FighterTutor are the first and only openly switch couple I've seen in Thai bl so far. I wish the industry would have the guts to include more couples like that. The switch dynamic in bl is my absolute favourite be it in series or mangas/manhwas.
@@missanna7510Only Friends had some verse characters! Also Poom was a verse character in My Stand-In. And Gawin and Podd’s couple from Dark Blue Kiss was verse!
It’s nice to see someone who finally challenges the Top-Bottom stereotype of BL gay love making. This is mostly coming from straight female authors and unknowing female fans who can only portray any kind of sex as being a copy of top-bottom straight sex when gay men have several other options for having satisfactory sexual relations. There have been a very few exceptions but, regretfully, most BLs still follow this stereotypical top-bottom format. It may also have something to do with sponsors wanting to attract the majority straight female audience in imagining themselves at the place of the “bottom” character. Sad !
I don't care who is bottom or top as long as the chemistry and storyline are good Somehow they are watching not because of the storyline and chemistry they only want the bed scene For me bed scene is nothing if the story is not matching with the chemistry 😏 Pooh Pavel hit different no need to be nude while doing NC Kissing is enough
On this topic, the series "Knock, knock boys" should be an interesting example. The series have two couples and one of them is Peak and Thanwa, played by actors Best and Seng. Best and Seng both played "bottoms" in their previous series. Best, in 'Check out' with Chahub and Seng in 'Secret crush on you' and 'War of y' with Billy. Their characters on 'Knock, knock boys' are completely different from their previous roles and it could honestly be anyone's guess, who's who and it shows how good they are as actors, portraying different characters and roles 😉😊
I mean it’s true there’s the typical top and bottom in lgbt relationships but I have met people who are the complete opposite like some who looks like a top might be a vers bottom or someone who looks like a bottom might be a top and tbh we don’t think to much about it unless we are strictly one role aka being a top or a bottom
Shouldn't all actors be like that. I mean they are actors right! ... Why does it matter if they act as Top or Bottom. How is it relevant I don't see the point 😔
Having BLs with one ‘feminine’ and one ‘masculine’ in the couple just shows that we still can’t accept that it’s two MEN. Such a boring stereotype in BLs. The ones that ‘challenge’ this are simply portraying what is real. More of that please. Equal partners is much more exciting in my view.
In all honesty, I do not necessarily 'care' about bedroom roles between two men or even their stereotypical attributes. I just have a personal preference and would never force my PERSONAL views onto others.
One that comes to mind is My Beautiful Man. The amount of “I can’t believe Hira is the top!” And the first season came out three years ago. Anyway, I’m queer and top/bottom are literally just sex positions. It’d be like asking a straight couple “Who’s the missionary and who’s the doggy style?” It’s just heteronormative bs forced on gay couples. Unfortunately the fetishization has become so predominate b/c of BLs, GLs (especially from Thailand), shipping and fanfic that saying it doesn’t mean anything to actual queer people is like whispering to someone in a loud crowd. No one really listens to us. Anyway the whole top/bottom thing is fine in fiction but please don’t push that stuff on REAL people. Besides, most queer people are switch aka verse.
Thank you for this clarification. As a straight person watching BLs I always felt uncomfortable with the whole top Bottom stuff, and wondered if it was offensive. It felt to me like it was, or at the very least intrusive. Keep speaking up, some of us are listening. ❤
I seriously don't care about top and bottom in BL's. The storyline is more important, the chemistry between the leads is more important, the acting is more important. I don't look at the actors as a feminine and masculine point of you. I just looks a two men falling for each other. They are in my eyes on the same level.
Woman attracted woman here, YES, EXACTLY THIS!!! it's sooooooooooo fetishy and creeeeeeeeeeppppppppppyyyyyy to be obsessed with queer couples and their sex lives like WTFFFFFFFF
Gawin is also versatile. The man is tall and while he doesn't have a set partner In Dark Blue Kiss he was portrayed as a bottom, in Be my Favorite he was top and from the trailer of My Golden Blood it looks like he portrays a bottom.
Mark my word( up) is a versatile actor, he can take any role... I mean any role. About bible... Vegas is always stay in my heart, but i love his baby girl era 😌in 4 minute's
Max and Tul are definitely favorites from the past. Saint is Saint, so yeah, power bottom. He takes over scenes. And puts out pretty good series from his company too. Love The Sign. Pooh is so soft. PavelDome, I miss them. Bible!
Same here, I find the “who’s top & bottom” obsession is awful 😞 I’m more concerned about their relationship being healthy. But I’m AroAce so I like Bromace & BL dramas too ❤
Life is all about diversity and complexity, and most people (either straight or queer) can become versatile at some point in their lives. As for Bible , who better than an ambidextrous and oversmart actor to fight being trapped in one box ?
I saw 4 minutes and it's good though and their chemistry is oh my gosh 😂 there's tension and who cares about the roles when the plot is good and the chemistry is top notch. Well just let those people be, they're get tired of it anyway 😂 for me it's just my curiosity to know top or bottom but I don't see them as they had to be feminine to be a bottom I'm happy either way. As long as they have good chemistry. these days I'm tired of always seeing a weak feminine bottom who just succumbed to the a**hole top😅 sometimes seeing or reading power couple is much better.
To be honest, as I started to watch BL series, I was floded with the Top and Bottom thing, always like who is Top and who is Bottom, this stereotype was portrait in many BL series, so I was thinking about that as well, but after watching many BL series as a Part of the LGBTQ+ Community, I was nearly done with this stereotype behavior looking who is Top and Bottom, especially since I have watched some series they where breaking this stereotype. I can remember that I watched the series 'My Engineer' and this one Episode where they "fighted" about this ropic but then there was this moment when Bohn said to Duen, that he actually didn't care about this and I was like, well yes why does this topic matters that much. I mean, in real life as a same sex couple you can hear people asking you who is the woman/man in the relationship, it's like the Top and Bottom question and well maybe there are some people they are thinking that way but it isn't a standard. If there are two man dating then there isn't a woman in this relationship and the same goes with two woman, where no man will be, but society always trying to put everything in usless boxes they don't really fit to the persons and that is in my pov extremely awkward.
They should even add role flips depending on who starts the romance.Actually I really enjoy the role flip because it proves their creativity in acting.Especially Upoom from lovely writer to my stand in .I realy enjoy the Character change keep on
Kira and kiyoi you'd think would be the opposite of what they were. Hira the stuttering worshiper of his beautiful man is actually an aggressive top when he wants to be. And of course kiyoi turns from haughty king to a baby marshmallow when he's kissing hira. I love those two so much they will always be my favorite. I'm not sure that it's the straight community keeping the top and bottom thing going though. I've watched a bit of the gay content on you tube(not talking bls i mean besides that)it seemed like the discussion is still front and center in a lot of creators videos. Like there's dating things and the first thing they say is hey I'm Bob and I'm a top. I thought it was odd that they would get into that before they even knew them but I saw it on several videos. People interviewing people on the street what do you like? They will say stereotypes like twinks or bears or whatever. Very rare they will get a gay man to say oh I prefer a well read smart guy with a nice perfume on or something along those lines. No it's like gotta be a big beefy top or a tiny bottom. Maybe it's just youtube creators skewing things for views and most gay men aren't like that but I don't know many gay men and I don't know that I'd ever have the audacity to just be like hey you a top? It's like asking what color underwear you're wearing it's just not done😂😂.
After watching few Asian gay reality shows I learnt that most of the Asian gay ppl are verse. Verse being the versatile can do both top and bottom. I dont’t mind Bible being bottom coz I liked Jess in the series so far. I am seeing this Jess guy for the first time and no doubt the casting director made a great decisions. Heads off
The thing is, in pitbabe I keep thinking babe was top and a confusion strike me when they said babe is omega than it got conformation with there mama papa thing and I was left in daze
babe isn't an omega in pitbabe, though? both him and charlie are special alphas. their mama and papa act was just because charlie wants to eventually have a family with babe in the future. their second genders might change in pitbabe2, we'll never know. but as of now, babe isn't an omega. there are omegas in the story like jeff, but babe isn't one of them (sorry, just wanted to clear up the confusion)
Before I got into BL, I watched a lot of lgbtq stuff. One of my all-time favorite pairings was Ian and Mickey, who SMASHED stereotypical "gay" portrayals. Going from that to BL (first in manga/manhua then serries) was such a shock.
Tbh when I see comments or hear people talk about who the top and bottom is I can tell right away since I’m from the lgbt community but I come for the love story not the sexual scenes but it’s weird how people discover the terms like power bottom or submissive top and be so shocked like if it wasn’t around for like decades lol 😂😂😂😂
Here's my take as a gay guy. While it's a great thing that nowadays there are many bl couples that break stereotypes with masculine couples butwhat bothers me is that while the bl couples in past you might consider stereotypical they were never really quite feminine. Yeah sure thy weren't masculine but feminine? Nah. It's like saying cute boys can't be masculine. Masculinity isn't about if you look masculine or act masculine. I have yet to see an actual feminine gay character in a lead role. I mean come on let's not act like feminine gays don't exist at all. The one show I can remember where the lead is actually feminine is "Secret Crush On You". And as a gay person I can assure you being feminine doesn't mean you are top or bottom. While I'm happy that the usual trend of "masculine" looking top and "feminine" looking bottoms(which I still think cute bottoms doesn't automatically mean they are not masculine) is changing it seems like the people out there only care about either the sterotypical couples or the masculine couples and no attention whatsoever is given to actual feminine characters in lead role. If anything they end up being the butt of the joke and side character.
Actually, I also used to be one of those ppl who had a toxic obsession with the 'top'/'bottom' stereotypes... but somehow, after having have watched a ton of western lgbtq shows n movies (and from other regions as well) my mindset is completely changed. At first, even I used to get pissed when my who is what predictions went wrong... and now, I don't care anymore about the bed roles. I just care about the story, acting, and most importantly: the CHEMISTRY.
I find this stereotype very annoying in BL. I do know that there are dedicated tops and bottoms IRL, but most people are more or less versatile, and it has very little to do with looks or body type. It would be nice to see this reflected in BL. And what's with the crazy fujoshi in especially Taiwanese BLs who keep asking the MCs which one they are?? (Unknown, I'm looking at you). I mean, overstepping boundaries, much? Would people ask the same of a straight couple? I would never dream of asking anyone I knew about what they did in the bedroom, regardless of their sexuality. That's none of my business! And nobody else's business either, except for the people involved!
You forgot PatPran! They didn't change the perspective, they DEMOLISHED it! In BadBuddy they clearly switch and don't put much emphasis on it, as they should. And my man Bible, I think he's happy to play Great who's a cutie compared to Vegas, the Spawn of Satan. Doesn't matter if top or bottom, at least he doesn't have to method act someone so heavy on the spirit
All these years iv watched BLs iv never paid attention to who's what. I just enjoy all the stories plots and just wanna see what happens weather a happy or sad
Honestly, the story that the Top must be masculine and the Bottom feminine is a stereotype that is hated within the gay community itself: if you want to offend a gay couple ask them who is the Top and who is the Bottom, it's something they don't like and it's understandable: being Top or Bottom isn't due to physical appearance. it's a matter of taste or preference in bed, everyone is different and everyone has their own. Therefore this division is ridiculous but I understand that it is still followed because it is part of the Yahoi culture, which is the mother of all Bl. That said, regarding the issue of Bible, not that I want to see him in the Top's shoes, even if for me he will always remain Vegas, a character that in my opinion he expressed best (I mean if I imagine Vegas I imagine him just like Bible ,) what I don't understand about the manufacturer's decision is why they moved the role of Bible... I mean, Build, who played the part of Bottom Pete, left the couple, so it would have been more logical leave his role to Bible and give the role of Build to a new actor, I think it is this decision that shocked the fans also because they didn't explain the reason at all, I mean, but why let Bible play the role of Build.. .wasn't it simpler and less confusing for the fans to leave things as they were?? Now you'll tell me, but Jess is taller. it's more masculine...so what?? We just said that being top or bottom is not a question of physical appearance! He could very well have been a bottom... isn't it the actor, known for hetero roles in Lakorn, who didn't want to do it perhaps for reasons of image and because the Top Bottom stereotype is still well rooted in Thai society? Where do I remember that the combination, ridiculous in my opinion, of wife/husband is accepted for gay couples? So, let's all agree, fans and production companies, switching the role of Build a Bible makes no sense to me and has only created confusion and bad mood among the fans. Be On Cloud, but why complicate your life? Incomprehensible decisions....
You're very confused. Nobody is switching Build and Bible's roles. 4 Minutes has been completely reimagined and with the new casting they decided Jes would be better as Tyme. And isn't it a testament to Bible's versatility as an actor that he's able to play the character of Great well? If they made that casting decision they must have had their reasons and I'm sure it wasn't done just bcs Jes is taller.
@@missanna7510 True, it was a production decision to adjust the script, I didn't say otherwise, I just don't understand why. Why readjust everything after Build starts?? Coincidentally with Jess's arrival? I would have liked to understand this but they didn't say it, I repeat, Be ON Cloud's choice which however I do not approve and do not understand but a legitimate choice. I have nothing to say about Bible's skill, he will certainly eat up the character as he did with Vegas, but in my imagination seeing him in a different role doesn't make me feel at ease... in short, I don't see him in that role. It's a matter of personal taste, I don't want to spark any controversy, I simply won't watch it, but I wish only the best for the actors.
i agree with a comment in the video. it's mostly straights who are upset regarding the "roles". i wouldn't mind at all if there were no sex scenes, especially now when some series are throwing them onto you when it is unnecessary (hello, 4 minutes). I want to see the Plot and the chemistry between the two ml.
ok personally forget the top/ bottom situation. My opinion I'm a biblebuild fan, their cemetery during kp both in front and behind the camera was 🤯. Bible an Jess it's like co-workers, here for the paycheck. I tried to give them a chance w/4min. Keeping it pg & respectful storyline was confusing as heck, mid series it was who was better eye candy an better body bass or Bible.
off topic but what software did you use to make your avatar/character and background? It’s really cool and I’d like to learn to make characters as well
@stargirlt8292 Hi🤗 For my avatar I just use co-pilot which is like a chatgpt in microsoft edge. It has a feature to turn text into images. I just input what I like and than I just added some details by cropping some images i search in web and combining them together. For the background I just search on pinterest for free backgrounds and edit some of it with some details that i want as well (like adjusting the color and lighting)😊
As a writer, I totally embrace the breaking of stereotypes, as the result can be fuller, richer, more interesting characters. One of my favorites is Golf/Art from "Till The World Ends"(2022--2023), with actors Best(Willi) Anavil and Art Pakpoom. It's not until they have the NC scene which in a bolt out of the blue when Art, who, up until that point has been a stereotypical bottom character, is revealed to be the top--a switch actually having been suggested by Art, the actor himself, with Aam Anusorn, the Writer/Director giving his blessing to incorporate it into the story. **** For anyone watching this 10 Episode series (especially for the first time), it is IMPERATIVE to watch until LITERALLY the very last few SECONDS at the END of the credits in the last episode. There is a HUGE Easter Egg that almost everyone misses.😉😉😉
@@BoysLoveNerd Thank you!! Aam Anusorn is known for being a maverick in the Independent Thai film industry as he was the first to expose the horrors of the dark underbelly of BL with his semi-autobiographical series of what he witnessed first hand by certain people in power from large production companies in his impressive series "Call It What You Want"(2021), resulting in his being a target by them ever since. (If you have never cried over watching someone eat a burger (actor Michael Kiettisak in an absolutely incredible performance), you will here.) Additionally--unlike almost all secretive directors--Aam actually INVITED us along in Livestreams to the Workshops, Behind-The-Scenes, Promos, and even On Location shoots for "Till The World Ends"! While it’s your right to not care about top bottom dynamics in a BL story, for people who do care about top bottom dynamics, I don’t see what’s so bad or wrong about it, it’s another way to interpret and enjoy the characters of the series. Just because you don’t care doesn’t mean other people should care or want to see a more distinct top bottom dynamics. Sometimes this is how one gets into the storyline or the understand the characters. The most important thing is how the story teller decide to show us these characters. Preferences to enjoy these characters are individual choices and audience who prefer them either way shouldn’t be shamed into feeling they are wronged just because they interpret and like their characters out of the norm. While story teller today are more diverse in the way they are giving us top bottom or whatever roles to the audience, they also have to keep in mind who are they marketing the story to and if there is any profit or loss implication when they choose to make a certain story. audience like us who probably watch them on pirate probably have the luxury to demand this and that but for these production companies, unless they are making BLs for fun and no profit or loss in mjnd well, they can impose us whatever pair dynamics they want. It’s kinda sad that today the fandom grow so toxic that the mere mention of enjoyment of the words top and bottom characters is so wrong and some people are shamed. And I thought this genre is supposed to be where diversity is tolerated.
Since this is not a male/female pairing, and both partners have the same equipment, there does not have to be any top or any bottom. Why must people assume that one must be top and one must be bottom? That is shoving them into the heterosexual model. In most real life relationships, they switch and each can to do anything. Why would they constrain themselves? It is only TV relationships that are mainly for a heterosexual girl audience, where there has to be some sort of indication of a "man-woman" sort of relationship.
Um Zee and Saint played a versatile couple!!! In the first nc scene zee was the top and in the second nc scene Saint was the top. At the end of the day they are all actors and can play straight, bi, queer, top or bottom roles! Honestly this distinction isn’t anywhere near as important in the real queer world, I promise you lol 🖤
Pls I get so triggered when people ask who's top or bottom. It's 2024 for fuck sake. That's the dumb weird shit you'd ask in 2016. Not in 2024 bruh. 99% of the time you don't need to know what they prefer to do while having sex. And in the very slim 1% chance you do need to know cause it's important info for the story or characters. THEN YOU WOULD HAVE ALREADY KNOWN CAUSE THE WRITERS WOULD'VE LET YOU KNOW. Like I frl can't handle these people. It's impossible to enjoy BL content especially on for example Instagram. They're all so weird it's insane. Like it's literally just rooted in gender stereotypes and lowkey homophobic with the way they just HAVE to make TWO MEN have the same dynamic as a stereotypical traditional straight couple. Begging for the day someone gives them a reality check.
Any or every red flag BL characters needed 'love' as likewise, it needs more yearning for passionate and most apologetic redemptions, though. Don't we all think?
Bed Friend ~ Uea clearly has the lead in that relationship over King. That said, I think the term Assertive/Passive is a better indicator of roles in a relationship. It has nothing to do with sexual position. It's all power dynamics. Also I don't think people should be locked into one sexual position/role. Isn't it better when couples experiment and try different things in order to please each other?
I'm sorry if this hurts anyone's feelings, I will ALWAYS "respect" bottoms more than tops...the vulnerability of taking someone into their body like that, of allowing that most primal invasion, takes far more courage and daily care/prep than simply sticking it in someone else...people can be dominant or submissive or a blend of the two during sex, but it has absolutely *NOTHING* to do with their preferred sexual position/role, and even less to do with their personalities as a whole
I just really dont care who's the top or bottom as long as the actors have a good chemistry.
Totally agree!
Actually I don't care who is top and bottom in bl series
It irritates me. Carácter and personality do not define roles. Also plenty of people are both or neither. It is like assuming you can know if a heterocouple do missionary or reverse cow girl based on their personality. Ridiculous.
@@agneteht There are so many more interesting relationship dynamics than what goes where.
I care a lot about that. Especially if I already have that image u. But the bottom don't have to be wick or feminine.
@agneteht You know what annoys me when people ask all the time about bl actors who is top and bottom like have you the ask everytime and as long actors have good chemistry I enjoy their series
@@giftwilliam4919 You don't get me and apparently no one here in the comments when I see like this I just give my opinion that's it and I don't mean anything bad by this like what????🤨
Pat and Pran from "Bad Buddy" destroyed stereotypes; they were both VERSATILE. In fact, it was the 1st time I had ever seen that in a BL. 🇺🇸🤝🇹🇭
Honestly, as a queer person, it’s WAY more accurate. I really wish more BLs would follow suit. I think it makes things way more interesting.
Clearly a "Switch" relationship lol
Also Pran was never submissive. They both were equals in everything.
I think it's much better this way tho coz he played it so well 😮
I agree with you bible is a very good actor that is what is important not who he is paired with
Love Bible as Vegas but didn't see him so much as a top but that Vegas was crazy, dangerous and could become violent in a second. He did show his soft and gentle side during the series. But I think some of his lovers being submissive was to keep him sane. Vegas's beating of Pete with the belt and his care afterwards showed how close he was riding on the edge.
He's so joyfully as Great, which is in such contrast to Vegas. This just proves his amazing capabilities as an actor.
Bible is a great actor, I was so surprised by how he plays a role which is the opposite of vegas
i think first kanaphan is also another great example of breaking stereotypes. although firstkhaotung is now an official pairing, first's previous series like 'the shipper' (submissive bottom), 'not me' (dominant badass bottom), 'the eclipse' (soft top) and 'ray' (switch) are some of the examples of how he nails all his characters while portraying immense chemistry with his onscreen partners.
People are still ask who is top or bottom between first and khaotung..it doesn't really matter..They are great actors and have great chemistry
I reaaaallly love their pairing because of the CHEMISTRY like it really doesn’t matter. Even outside of more sexual scenes they just act so well together. I literally have had dreams about them they’re so talented.
YEA I AGREE bc even though sand I supposed to be the more masculine person he can also be like more feminine and for lack of a better word “softer”
Edit: Also when Up’s face came up I screamed 😂 his aura 😩🥵🔥 goodness!!
pooh and pavel literally said f yr stupid steryotypes and i love them sm for that. their facial expressions during love making and the overall chemistry between them is excellent. personally, idc who the top n who the bottom is. as long as they portray their respective roles properly i love them
I personally care more about the chemistry and acting skills. Who is the top or bottom isn't really important.
the bottom one is always the shorter one, the lighter one, the skinnier/less toned one, the one that looks more feminine, and the one with the higher pitched voice. so i greatly thank BLs like KinnPorche and PitBabe for changing the script on that
We need more BL like Kinnporsch.
Right, lmao. Then when you call out how weird it is. All of a sudden your fighting for your life in the replies. 😭💀
@@Ooooooooooooopo There is nothing wrong with preferring a specific type dynamic, everyone has preferences, though asking for who is what position as the first question, not even commenting on anything else is 😬
Where it goes off the rails for me, are the various 'What, he's the bottom?
Finally someone mentioned benzgarfield. I thought it would garfieldbenz but turned out the other way
As a queer woman supporting international LGBT films from all over the world, choosing to be obsessed with that is EXTREMELY creepy, wtf.....
Up aura from Gene to Ming🔥🔥i moss My Stand In..my forever couple Up &Poom
As a girl who watches gay porn, the whole concept of "top" and "bottom" is definitely something that fans have created because in most gay porn videos the actors will switch roles from giving and receiving
Oh yes! A perfect example for this is my absolute favorite, Tyler Wu!
@@snoflysse8844 tyler wu has my heart lmaoooo. i thought I was the only girl who watched g.ay p.orn 💀💀
@@kittygang_lex5397dey play😂. u just found another person.... I almost paid for his channel to watch his Spanish bf
I love PoohPavel, UpPoom and JesBible! They're such good actors and have amazing chemistry!
the fact that i used to care about that Bs but My Stand in changed my perspective and i’m glad 💝
I'm not trying to start anything, just genuinely curious why you cared in the first place??? I honestly don't get it??
Like in JesBible although I'm completely fine with Jes's character bottoming, seeing Bible's character bottoming is 100 times more appealing, because I just love that man so much😍
I don't know if it's just me or does every fangirl have a favourite too...anyway I've thought about it a lot but its kinda difficult to express in English.
poohpavel are so unique 😩. but im ngl, the intial reaction to pavel playing a bottom in pitbabe was not it. ppl on Instagram, tiktok, and youtube were extremely closed-minded and not accepting of poohpavel. even now there are ppl that refuse to accept their cp. in my opinion, i dont care who's top or bottom as that doesnt matter at all. im only interested in plots and chemistry and could care less about nc scenes. but as poohpavel are relatively new as a cp in the industry and their ship is not something that we see in bl a lot, im really looking forward to seeing their dynamic in other series in the future 💕
Uppoom are just incredible together, amazing actors
Thank you for a great video. I’m a westerner and new to BL (two years) and I found the top/bottom fascination really bizarre. It’s like applying heterosexual thinking to queer tv. I hope we drop all this soon.
Here here.
Great video!! Only one you missed that I can think off right now is Santa being announced as Perth new partner and people reacting with the classical: "But they are both tops" bullshit. I saw a comment on MDL that was basically "two tops I have to recalibrate". Like????? Do these people hear themeselves speak??
Ooh yesss! But I may do a separate video for them especially if their series started to air😄
"do people hear themselves speak" This!!!! I ask that question all the time or do the re-read their comment... Because it's just crazy
I really was looking forward to hearing about FirstKhao and JimmySea who are both equally matched, with no definitive "top" or "bottom"
I think the TRUE EVOLUTION of the BL GENRE will come when shows actually start depicting characters in shows as “vers” which would open a whole world of potential character and plot dynamics. 🔄 There is nothing sexier than someone who can do both! (IYKWIAS). 🔥💙✨
We had one vers couple in Thai bl: FighterTutor in WHY R U in 2020. Somehow it wasn't picked up by the industry and I haven't seen another one since.
Only Friends introduced some verse characters, which was great!! Also Poom is technically a verse character in My Stand-In ❤ oh and Gawin and Podd’s couple from Dark Blue Kiss was verse!
@@bethconley Oh right. Thanks for listing those. I totally forgot bcs I'm not much of a fan of GMMTV tbh.

Yes true! ❤
As actors they should be able to play any part I don’t understand why people are surprised😂😂😂
Frrrrrrr, ppl need to stop fetishizing gay characters and ppl-
SPECIFICALLY straight women, they make me hate them so much, and I'm saying this as a bi woman myself.
I prefer when they are both masculin....but I will watch it if the storyline and the chemistry is great
Huh?
Love JesBible❤
It’s nice to see someone who finally challenges the Top-Bottom stereotype of BL gay love making. This is mostly coming from straight female authors and unknowing female fans who can only portray any kind of sex as being a copy of top-bottom straight sex when gay men have several other options for having satisfactory sexual relations. There have been a very few exceptions but, regretfully, most BLs still follow this stereotypical top-bottom format. It may also have something to do with sponsors wanting to attract the majority straight female audience in imagining themselves at the place of the “bottom” character. Sad !
I don't care who is bottom or top as long as the chemistry and storyline are good
Somehow they are watching not because of the storyline and chemistry they only want the bed scene
For me bed scene is nothing if the story is not matching with the chemistry 😏
Pooh Pavel hit different no need to be nude while doing NC
Kissing is enough
On this topic, the series "Knock, knock boys" should be an interesting example. The series have two couples and one of them is Peak and Thanwa, played by actors Best and Seng. Best and Seng both played "bottoms" in their previous series. Best, in 'Check out' with Chahub and Seng in 'Secret crush on you' and 'War of y' with Billy. Their characters on 'Knock, knock boys' are completely different from their previous roles and it could honestly be anyone's guess, who's who and it shows how good they are as actors, portraying different characters and roles 😉😊
I loved Knock Knock Boys!!
EXACTLY MY POINT (bi woman here, supporting international LGBT films as much as i can)
A good plot and good chemistry between the actors/actresses is what makes a bl/gl good to me.
Yes 👍 this point should guest in apperance bcz everyone could guest it's highlights 😊
kiyoi and Hira were chefs kiss
BL is played out for me nothing new. But Bible...oh Bible. This man is just daaamn 🖤👑
I just enjoy their works without thinking who is the top or bottom sometimes 😂😂😂😂
Bible is doing it so naturally clearly great actor!
#UpPoom!😫😍🔥❤
Yes well said 😊
I dont fucking care with the position thingy, what i care is the plot and the acting, thats it!!
Bible!
I’m demi, so top and bottom don’t matter to me unless the actors and story sell the romance/bond to build up to it…simple.
Same here, I find the “who’s top & bottom” obsession is awful 😞
I’m more concerned about their relationship being healthy. But I’m AroAce so I like Bromace & BL dramas too ❤
Also winny and satsang
Life is all about diversity and complexity, and most people (either straight or queer) can become versatile at some point in their lives. As for Bible , who better than an ambidextrous and oversmart actor to fight being trapped in one box ?
SO agree, my friend!!!😃😉😃
I see bible i click
That people got disappointed in Bible is wild to say the least. What goes on in their brains tho 🤦
First and gawin are missing from this list
Heads off
I still enjoy the love in the air jest and also venus in the sky including For him i enjoy this roles perfectly
Only bible heartrob ❤
Bible nos ha demostrado su capacidad actoral, no importa si es dominante o sumiso o el más fuerte.. él es para mí uno de los mejores actores ❤❤❤
It's refreshing to see Bible as bottom he was so cute acting little hesistant to physical touch at the beginning
I don't care about this top/bottom nonsense 😔
I watch for mostly the chemistry between the actors, acting etc 🙂👍
Is it really so important? I prefer to see switch between top and bottom during drama storyline and not focuse in one position
i agree with a comment in the video. it's mostly straights who are upset regarding the "roles". i wouldn't mind at all if there were no sex scenes, especially now when some series are throwing them onto you when it is unnecessary (hello, 4 minutes). I want to see the Plot and the chemistry between the two ml.
Sun and Mork from dark blue kiss were masculine verse couple as well rightt
ok personally forget the top/ bottom situation.
@@BoysLoveNerd thank you!
There is a HUGE Easter Egg that almost everyone misses.😉😉😉
thanks for sharing this. I'll make sure to add this is my watch list😊
(If you have never cried over watching someone eat a burger (actor Michael Kiettisak in an absolutely incredible performance), you will here.)
Additionally--unlike almost all secretive directors--Aam actually INVITED us along in Livestreams to the Workshops, Behind-The-Scenes, Promos, and even On Location shoots for "Till The World Ends"! (When was the last time James Cameron invited anyone to watch anything??) I am proud to say that Aam has become an "ah-mazing" internet friend, someone whom I will ALWAYS follow as he tells the truth.👏❤👏
Guys someone needs to do us bl recap 😅 cause I can’t catch up all this bl in 2024
Pitbabe
Iam sure if babe would be top it will definitely hit different...he is really masculine and so handsome you know
We are talking about ending stereotypes and here you are saying the same thing we don't want to continue with
Since this is not a male/female pairing, and both partners have the same equipment, there does not have to be any top or any bottom.
I agree with you ❤love you
I think Singto and Krist (Sotus) and Pran and Pat (Bad Buddy) are also a good example for this
Um Zee and Saint played a versatile couple!!!
ONLY FRIENDS Nick and Boston, as you look at the spicy scenes. They took turns play top and there were spicy scenes of not that kind of "acts"
