The shot of the RC guy came out better than you sold it in the video. The symmetry of the dust ring, while the guy is engaged with the car, makes for a great shot.
About 10 years ago I was out shooting a long term project ( 20 years plus and counting at that time) of an old abandoned fishing boat pulled up on a remote beach , when I arrived I found someone had set light to the boat & not much remained. Saddened I began my walk back to the car when I met a couple & we started up a conversation. I was knocked back by this couple's positive energy & it changed my mood. We still meet up several times a year & I count them among my closest friends.
Love it Robbie! Loved the pics of Mary, and also the picture you have of the guy with the car was amazing! The way the 'smoke' from the dirt circled around him like that was so cool!!
Really enjoyed your journey in this video. From the mental block of not wanting to shoot, to seeing the results from persistence, both through the people you met and the shots you got too. Great video, I'd love to explore this area too.
Loved this; hope that Mary likes the portraits. Hoping I can get out and pick up my 6x9 from its latest stay in the shop tomorrow, and knock some rolls out in the next couple of weeks now spring has arrived down here. Thanks for talking openly about life on life’s terms, and working your way thru it.
Huh! Interesting! I just got back home from a walk with my film camera and my dog only to find your new video on UA-cam, and talking about a lot of the things I was thinking about during my walk. Made my day. Thanks Robbie. Have a Great weekend.
Good to hear you were able to get through the anxiety Robbie, as awful as this can be. I especially love the Mary portrait at around 4:20! Her hands really make it. The touches of evening light on the binoculars, her expression too of joy and wonder.
hi, Robbie. Stunning video, man. Sorry for the short response but I had surgery on my hand. So typing is now only possible with one finger. I hope you understand, my friend. Looking I do with my eyes so that is no problem. take care, my friend. Antoine.
nice tip with the flash. one thing I think I missed: what aperture? another good video man’s. the portraits are so good. the storytelling of the video and them tied together work so well
Hey! Wonderful video. I’m a MA-based film photographer, too. I’ve recently been photographing Medfield State Hospital. If you ever want to meet up, let me know! I’ve been looking for friends to do photo trips with. Dom

Naps are underrated.
As I get older, I understand the importance of a good nap
Robbie, buy 2 books on anxiety. Stopping the noise in your head, by Reid Wilson. And rewire your anxious brain by Catherine Pittman.
Thank you for sharing that, Jesse! I will definitely look into them :)
