John Gibbons is a sports Osteopath and a lecturer for the 'Bodymaster Method ®' and in this video he is discussing 'where the pain is the problem is not' that relates to pathologies of the hip joint like an acetabular labral tear, FAI (Cam / pincer), Perthes disease and OA of the hip joint.
In his online hip course you will learn:
In The Vital Hip Complex course, osteopath, author and respected bodywork specialist John Gibbons looks at one of the most neglected areas of the body: the hip joint. During the online course he will take you on a fascinating journey of enlightenment, teaching you to recognise pain and dysfunctional patterns that can arise from dysfunctions found within and around the hip complex & the pelvic girdle.
John will teach you functional anatomy and the biomechanics of the kinetic chain associated to the hip-pelvic-lumbar complex and discuss dysfunctional patterns that can develop within these vital areas and how they affect distant sites of the body. Once that has been understood, he takes you on a fascinating journey to functionally assess the joints, soft tissues, ligaments as well as specific muscle length tests that can alter the biomechanics to the whole of the hip complex.
How does the hip joint actually cause pain to the lower back & knee?
Does the ligamentum teres play a role within the hip joint?
What is a condition known as Legg-Calve-Perthes disease?
    Key areas covered:
:Functional anatomy of the hip complex & pelvic girdle
    :Hip pathologies & syndromes
:How the hip joint relates to the lower back, SIJ & knee complex
:Function & testing of the musculature of the hip complex
:Muscle length tests: psoas, rectus femoris, adductors & tfl
:Treatment of the hypertonic muscles using specific modalities of MET
:Demonstration of Muscle firing patterns for Gmax and Gmed muscles
:Gmax & Gmed and their relationship to the hip-Knee Complex
    :Kinesiology taping techniques
    :Specific hip rehabilitation exercises
You’ll also learn how to identify specific soft tissue dysfunction and weakness within the musculo-skeletal system, and to harness powerful Muscle Energy Techniques (METs) and specific exercises to restore function and stability of the hip complex to your athletes and patients.
On completion of the course you will have the knowledge and practical experience necessary to identify, assess and treat specific pathologies and conditions found within the vital hip complex framework and perform a variety of techniques that will help promote normality.
The principles described can be incorporated very quickly and effectively into a treatment plan to assist in the rehabilitation of anyone recovering from injury.

@@JohnGibbons thanks John I've seen a consultant and had MRI which seems to indicate hip impingement no tear. It's pretty depressing, came on 14 months ago, apparently due to sitting for extended periods of time up. Prior to then had been going to Pilates, Yoga and walking 3 miles per day, which I still do with exception of walking. Just got to keep mobile best i can.

Valuable content! Thank you so much!
In case of a long-lasting case (chronic pain) where the patient was assessed in other areas of the body (upper neck and shoulders, spine manipulations, etc) and the issue did not improve but instead became worse in time, could it be that the overactive psoas starts involving other muscles? Thinking here of lats/QL/Intercostalis/ Trapezius/ SCM.
What chances are for such a case to recover with treatment?
The patient even developed plantar fasciitis in time due to very tight hip abductors and adductors creating so much fascial tension that the ankle overpronated.
    Any thoughts are welcomed!

PS - the patient never had any assessment of the hips/groin. But always focus on the spine - no spinal abnormalities show on MRI

If large areas of the body is involved and is worsening, maybe consider a systemic, not just a MSK issue

Some mobilisation and soft tissue techniques help for some patients so worth trying as naturally surgery is the last option...regards JG

When you say Central buttock pain, what are you referring to? The sacrum?

please read my comment and help or suggest me what should id do to deal with my problem plzzzz😥
Actually I also have one side tightness in back but also mine left side feels weaker than normal ...it's been around 2 yrs I am suffering withit.I have been to physiotherapist but it also didn't helped to improve it. Acutally two yrs ago I started feeling pain in my tail bone first then gradually the pain gone itself but my left side of ql muscle area started feeling weaker and weaker ..and then it strted becoming tighter in my right side .and now it is more than tight and I am so dipressed about it ,it dosnet hurt aur pain but I can't stand long time more than 1-2 hrs it's starts burning aur geting tighter in right side of lower back but sometime my weaker side (left ql side) hurts sometimes by itself or when I try to strech my left side to balnce both side it hurts badly only left side....now i can't do my daily works, can even bow down easily , uneasy to do daily works....Before it i never felt any backpain ,I never had any back problem .Even I don't have a single problem In my back before it
So if you may give me some suggestion about it I will be great for me sir ..please sir❤️🙂😥
Now it's tighter in right side (my ql ,my hips, hamstring and even upper right side ,where another left side is weaker than normal and very loose)
I am doing this exercises since 2 months..but it's not improving what should I do now.
