I remember as a kid that the downtown was really creepy. It's probably because of the atmosphere, the snails, and the details in the business and cakewalk area.
The snails roar still frighten me!!

You know, when I was younger, this game seemed so much more...alive. Everything seemed to look better, and to quote another commenter, it feels lifeless.
I used to wear the Mermaid Man costume and play around at the construction site because the music added to the environment!

Oh man, I remember playing this when I was little. I remember that all I could get to was that one part in jellyfish fields(?), where you had to get a letter before patrick.

6:45, after I unlocked the Mermaid Man costume, I played the rest of the game in it. Years later, when I re-found the disk, the game would crash when I got to this part.

There's a part in the game before this where Sandy punches several holes accidentally into the Tree Dome, and it fills up with so much water that Spongebob doesn't need his helmet in order to breathe.

I looked up this game because I heard it was the last game who's music was composed by the great George "The Fat Man" Sanger. While the music is good, there only seems to be a few tracks and that's disappointing. And why is this game so dark? It looks like the first Sly Cooper game when I played it on a CRT! A Spongebob game should be so much more colorful!

They justified that by saying that the dome is too damp because of a number of leaks in the dome in the previous part.

I always prefer the music from Battle for Bikini Bottom, it's less repetitive. In about every level in this game has the same music. But I still kinda like it.
The High Rise Apartments were always tricky for me since I couldn't use the camera to get good views of the place. haha

It doesn't. After you feed the construction foremen, a bag of krabby patties will continue to spawn until you feed Patrick.

this was way to hard for me as a child
This game just feels so bleak and lifeless compared to Battle for bikini bottom. This got some things right, but it just don't feel like spongebob. Like a construction site? When has their ever been a construction site in spongebob? Plus the gameplay is kinda boring, the different costumes and jellyfishing are nice touches though. Also the writing is pretty weak.

Ok, so you didn't care about going for 100%. That's how you play the game and that's fine but looping music is what you have to deal with when you go for 100%. Even if you aren't going for 100%, though, you still need 150 jellyfish to progress through certain areas of the game so it's not like you can just ignore them entirely either way.
